  1. Of course there is. The cops & the Pelosis are under no obligation to release the entire story to the media. There are lots of reasons they wouldn't (one that comes to mind it that releasing all the video would let everyone know exactly where the cameras are located). If this goes to trial (it may or may not, a guilty plea is a pretty obvious possibility), more will be revealed. But not everything. It's pretty rare that every detail is made public. I find it pretty disgusting (not surprising) that the alt-right is going straight down the 'dumbass' rabbithole, trying to make Pelosi the aggressor. Trying to pretend that their own fucking rhetoric isn't responsible for this idiot attacking someone. One a side note, Seen elsewhere (paraphrased): It's becoming more and more apparent that the alt-right considers these fools 'useful idiots' to be used and discarded. The Jan 6 insurrectionists got to see Steve Bannon pardoned, while they sit in jail or prison. The fool that attacked Pelosi got wound up by all his 'friends', was so deeply conned that he committed multiple felonies, and is now being called a 'gay prostitute' by those who were responsible for his brainwashing.
  2. Seen on FB - If Elon Musk wants to make money, he should charge people to block HIM.
  3. Oh yeah, back to Twitter. Musk is thinking about charging $20 per month ($240 per year) for the 'blue check mark' that verifies the account is genuine. Not surprisingly, there are a few folks saying 'fuck that' (actually saying/writing that). Musk claims they have to 'pay the bills'. https://www.businessinsider.com/stephen-king-quit-twitter-if-forced-pay-verified-blue-check-2022-10 Heard elsewhere: 'Being the richest man in the world doesn't mean you're the smartest. Just the greediest.'
  4. Being the 'most ignored' on here?
  5. Yeah, when REAL Nazis are triumphantly praising something, it probably isn't a good thing. https://www.adl.org/blog/elon-musk-plans-to-buy-twitter-right-wing-extremists-rejoice This is from last spring, but it still applies.
  6. Probably more because the inherent stability (or lack of) in varying parachute planform designs is a pretty obscure and esoteric subject. It's not something many people are interested in. Except on here, of course.
  7. Great. The author (and OP of this thread) goes to all that effort to get the details of the parachute part at least sort of plausible, then moves Angel Falls from Venezuela to Africa. Note: we really need a 'sarcasm' font.
  8. Well, it goes against the narrative that the Russians are 'liberators', going in to 'save the Ukrainians who love Russia from all the Nazis that are murdering them'. Instead it shows the reality that the Russians are murderous vicious thugs, invading a peaceful neighbor.
  9. Hi Jerry, The toilet paper 'shortage' was simply a supply chain bottleneck due to panic buying. When everyone wants a bunch of something at the same time, there will not be enough. Anyone who understands this basic concept has an adequate supply (a couple months worth) on hand at all times. The amount of stuff that requires fossil fuels for it's production (as in part of the material) is a lot more than most people realize. However, EVERYTHING requires fossil fuels for it's production. And EVERYTHING requires fossil fuels for transportation. Raw material extraction or production. Raw materials to production facility. Production facility to distribution centers, then on to retail stores.
  10. Well, I'm sure the Ukrainians would accept peace terms that were fair. Something like: Immediate departure of all Russians from all Ukrainian territory (including Crimea). Immediate return of all kidnapped Ukrainians from Russia. Russia to surrender all leaders (both military and civilian) credibly accused of war crimes to the Hague. Russia to pay for all damages to Ukrainian property. Lifting the trade embargo and allowing Russia to sell oil and gas would go a long way towards paying these reparations. I doubt this will happen, but it would be nice.
  11. The original vaccine proved to be VERY effective at preventing infection. The mRNA vaxes were over 90% effective. That is, over 90% of people vaxxed were protected from being infected by the virus. Later variants were able to infect vaxxed people. But those later variants came out after her quoted statement. So her statement was accurate at the time it was made. I strongly suspect that someone knows this. I also strongly suspect he knows what VAERS is and does (and doesn't do). He should know that the data is unverified. ANYONE can report ANYTHING. The site itself says so. https://vaers.hhs.gov/data/dataguide.html It's very useful for what it is intended for. But to pretend that the raw data can be used to determine the effectiveness or safety of a vaccine is pretty stupid.
  12. Oh hush. Don't you know if the vax doesn't completely stop ALL cases, then it's utterly useless? Completely pointless? A total con by "Big Pharma" to make money and get us to 'comply'? We really need a 'sarcasm' font.
  13. "Zerohedge". Ha. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-15/us-accuses-financial-website-of-spreading-russian-propaganda
  14. I thought you supported him because he would vote the way Trump wants. Not because of any 'toughness'. He's demonstrated that he isn't really 'all there'. There are some signs that he may be suffering from CTE. https://moguldom.com/410353/questions-raised-about-whether-herschel-walker-has-cte-after-comments-on-mass-murder-at-texas-school/ Funny how the people who hear Joe Biden use speech techniques that are used to cope with a stutter and claim 'dementia' hear this and can't see any problems.
  15. Well, there are reports he met with Putin. I'm not sure I believe them, but the tweet about Russia's demands (keep Crimea, elections, ect) were pretty much pro-Putin. And he floated the idea of charging Ukraine for Starlink. That idea was withdrawn after the backlash, but he still threw it out there. I agree that he's an asshole, but I'm not so sure about the 'above and beyond' part of his support.
  16. Because it's becoming more and more apparent that Musk is on Putin's side. Removing that much moderation will allow the trolls in St Petersburg free reign. You know, Trump is awesome, Ukrainians are all Nazis, Covid vaccines are dangerous, all that sort of shit that the gullible idiots fall for.
  17. I care significantly less that she can't spell a difficult name than the fact that she has no clue who was on which side during the Civil War (hint: Wilder Brigade was NOT "Confederate")
  18. Wisconsin has a somewhat similar process, where unaffiliated voters can vote for either party during the primary. But the votes can only go to one party. For example, if I voted for one of the R candidates for governor, I couldn't vote for any Ds. So, similar to you, I voted for the least evil Rs in the primary.
  19. Very true. But the Venezuelans coming up to the US for asylum seem to be able to get across it. Not all of them, more that just a few end up dying on the trek, but many still manage to make it.
  20. ^This. The Trumpettes hate 'Big Pharma' as an excuse not to get the vaccine. They still want their Viagra, Oxies and all the stuff that keeps them alive. They also hate "Big Tech" because FB & Twitter don't allow them to have 'free speech', which is a euphemism for 'spreading lies and hatred'. Banks? Oil Companies? Car Companies? Those all got bailed out and the Trump fans just cheered (they weren't "Trump Fans" at the time of the bailouts, but they were the ones who became them). z The divisions and animosity goes back before Trump. He just saw it and exploited it. Remember McConnell on Obama? "We will do anything we can to oppose Obama, even if it hurts the country". (that may not be the exact quote, I did a quick search and came up empty) And, while it wasn't a truly representative sample, Politifact found that Rs lied twice as much as Ds, and Ds told the truth twice as much as Rs (there's a difference between lying and telling the truth for ad claims). https://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2013/05/study-politifact-says-republicans-lie-more-164943
  21. The 200 jump number is a fairly common one. C license, wingsuit, camera, also lots of boogies require it (either the number or a C) for specialty aircraft. Most BASE FJCs require 200 jumps too. While it is a 'consensus number', it's not just one pulled out of thin air. It's been a fairly common standard for a while. The general idea it that with that level of experience, the skills are developed enough to try extra stuff. And there have been a couple deaths in wingsuits with less than 200 jumps. One guy opened up on exit and was put into the tail (I don't remember any other details on it). Another had a bit over 100 jumps and went 'instructor shopping' to find someone who'd give him a FFC. He got turned down a few times, but found someone at the Sebastian Invasion. He neglected to route his legstraps properly and fell out of the harness on opening. His name was Dan. It was discussed in depth on here.
  22. No, but it's pretty clear that 'certain people' on here are simply trolling for responses. Some of them even openly admit it.
  23. #1 - Please stop calling them 'theories'. They are conspiracy fantasies. There's nothing approaching the level of proof that a theory requires in those idiotic claims. #2 - While I agree that there's a lot of stupidity involved in them, lots of 'not terribly smart' people don't fall for them. One distinguishing characteristic is that the people seem to think they are a lot smarter than they really are. Dunning-Krueger poster children. Another is that they really, really, REALLY want to know something that nobody else does. So they either invent a load of crap, or they latch onto one.
  24. I'm rather surprised ole Slim hasn't picked up on this latest 'fun fact' about the vaccines: The Florida Surgeon General has released a 'study' that shows the vax is dangerous. That males who get it have an 'abnormally high risk' of death. This is the same Florida that has falsified Covid numbers, both cases and deaths. That fired the person who insisted on reporting those numbers accurately, and then raided her house when she kept it up after being fired. And the Surgeon General has been promoting the standard "quack cures" of HCQ, Ivermectin, vitamins, zinc and the rest of the garbage. He's associated with "America's Frontline Doctors" (remember Dr Demon Sperm?) and has fraudulently claimed to have treated Covid patients in California. Not terribly surprisingly, real health care experts have skewered these claims. The study is shit. It doesn't even list an author. Yeah, really. It also doesn't look at how dangerous Covid is. You know, that whole 'risk analysis" thing. What's more dangerous, getting the vax, or not getting it and then getting Covid (helpful hint: It's NOT the vax). Newsweek story on the release: https://www.newsweek.com/top-florida-doctor-warns-young-men-covid-vaccines-pose-high-risk-death-1750150 Wiki page on the idiot 'doctor': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Ladapo Critical review of the 'study' (note that the author of this is actually listed):https://youcanknowthings.com/2022/10/09/a-critical-review-of-floridas-new-vaccine-analysis/ Florida: Near the top of Covid deaths. And I guess they want to be number one.
  25. Also one that lists sources. I absolutely LOOOOOOVE how the resident troll posts shit with no attribution. Just a picture. Or a graph. No source, no mention of where it came from, no NOTHING. And we're supposed to fall at his feet worshipping his insightfulness and intelligence. Yeah... No.
