The advice given above about contacting an instructor is good. Heck, you may even ask for a radio if someone is willing to call the landing for you. I always teach my students to keep their head and eyes forward and look at the horizon. When the horizon becomes a single line (e.g., the view of squares and rectangles from above becomes a line) and when you can "see" the ground below with your peripheral vision - you flare. Keeping your head up keeps you from getting the ground rush and watching for the ground using peripheral vision keeps you from pounding in - hopefully. :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Connie is a great lady, I met her and Vick last October in Monterey. You should love the Hop & Pop. It is a great view of the landing area, at a lower altitude than you usually open your parachute on student jumps! :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. As stated, both have good and bad. The throw out/BOC is the standard used by most jumpers. The people who use pull-out like that they "know" the container is open because the pin is pulled first. Yep, I did the same type of program that AggieDave is talking about. I lost about 65 lbs last year. Then I quit chewing tobacco. I got 15 lbs back. I still have to loose another 6 lbs to get back to my goal. I just got back from my afternoon walk, I have already eaten 3 meals today and have two more to go. Tonight will be at least 35 minutes on the eliptical runner. I just have to keep those cravings down for another month or so and I should be golden. :::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, ..
