    Anybody else read this book? I read it last month and found alot of great information. It explains the basics and dynamics of each body position and is accompanied by color pictures. I got some great points from this book that helped me with some body position. I got even more information that I had already learned but got to hear it explained differently to put another angle on it. This will help greatly in teaching my students.     You are right in that the 3D award is a more comprehensive test of multiple body postitions. It definitly takes more skill to get this award than the AD. Glens comment about only practicing 2 transitions for the AD I think sums up the whole argument between which is a better test of skill. I've seen some horrible AD tests that have passed.     1.Preplan your flocking route relative to jumprun and other groups of jumpers. Verify that path when you stick your head out the door. Stick to that path and know where you are going to whole time. It is very easy to cover lots of sky and interfere with other groups. As an organizer and leader you now take on responsibility for the safety of your entire group. 2.Once everybody is out, stable, and facing you; start out with a slow backwards movement to make sure everybody knows you're starting and dont leave anybody in the dust. Then gradually increase backward movement untill you got a good flock going. You can look at the body position of the followers to get a good idea at how steep you are going. 3.Plan breakoff. Nobody turns or backs to track 180!!! You have people coming from behind at high rates of speed. 4.Keep these to small groups.     Just thought I'd let ya'll know that we docked a 20way headdown on our first attempt. 6way round with stingers. A grip broke before 5 seconds but it was built.     I have found the best way to launch that formation is to launch a 4way with 2 hangers and 2 base people and then have the other 2 base people fly into the formation only because they can dock a belly formation faster than the hangers(usually.) The key to hanging is pushing your hips forward. If you dont concentrate on that then your butt will stick back slightly and will cause the washiness. _________________________ goat derka jerka bukkake jihad

    If the coaching is right in front of you, of course you dont want to drive to pay for it. I think that if an individual was to spend a weekend getting coaching from them as apposed to driving to get free coaching it would be well worth it. If I was just learning I would be going to both DZs and get the best of both worlds. I guess my view is coming from having 1000 skydives and from having jumped with most of these guys. And about the ball tests.. I AM NOT talking about the above people, but I have met alot of people who think they can pass the C ball test.... I dont put much stock in someone having there A except for that they can probably stay on there head. The A is easy.     OBTW, I think that free coaching offered by SD Atlanta and Andre is awesome. Unheard of even. More DZs need to follow their lead. This will bring the skill level of the whole local scene up.     The point I am trying to make is that you can find talented people such as Andre to give coaching at alot(not all) of DZs. But, It's not everyday that you have TJ and SteveO jumping at your DZ. The fact is that SteveO is 1 of 3 that has his AD D. TJ is 1 of 17 that has his C. I would call that a cut above most other freeflyers. _________________________ goat derka jerka bukkake jihad

    You may have to spend some money, but getting to jump with TJ or SteveO is worth shelling out a few bucks. Yeah, you can go to alot of DZs and get discount coaching but that is exactly what you are getting. Team Method skills are a cut above your local DZ talent. You will spend the same amount getting coaching from almost ANY nationally recognized, established freeflyer. Please dont get me wrong, I'm not downing anybody elses skills. Free and discounted coaching is great. But the extra money is sometimes worth it. _________________________ goat derka jerka bukkake jihad

    Fare well Mike. I will miss him when I come down to Houston. He was a character and I enjoyed talking to him with his thick accent when I came down there. From pulling stuck trucks in the mudd and getting stuck himself to making freefly jumps with him, I will remember the times we crossed.     When I have been under 2ways I think the chest strap works best. When I have been under 4ways and a 6way I have always grabbed the mudflaps which are right below the 3rings and above the chest strap.
