  1. It shall be understood "for wingsuit flyers with US citizenship only"? Or you call it later "Open US National Wingsuit Formation Record"?
  2. Deniq

    Summerfest

Looks like freefall contest. When start you with flying in place of falling? P.S. I am not Yuri!
  3. Klaus, if I see results for "WS Boogie and Comp Hungary 2009", the results for first places in Marl are very impressive. It is possible to post here more details (Vx, Vy profiles dependent on time) for best Tony's track (3588 meters)?
  4. The influence of altitude wind on the glide ratio is huge! The second point is the exit and main deployment procedure... Look on one my GPS-track. Glide Ratio is: In Race Zone 5285/2071=2,55. For whole track: (619+5285+864)/(551+2071+1397)=1,68 If you see "Ground Speed Graph", you can see decreasing of my ground speed from 250+ to 150 kmh. The "Vertical Speed" is here all time more or less constant. If I understood "outrager", for the Eiger challenge you need glide ratio of 2,6 for whole track
  5. I hope, you use suitable fabric/wire and the fixing procedure for single parts is approved
  6. Congratulation to all participants of WoM 2009! My conclusion, if I see the results and comprare it with progress to WoM 2008: 1) Discipline "Time" The level of 70 seconds is comparable with WoM 2008. No significant progress. The gravity force is constant (in comparison to the wind speed) and I see at this moment limitation for significant improvement for this parameter because of human body geometry. 2) Discipline "Distance" Diverse skydivers flew this year with better results in comparison to normal jumps during the year. The reason for this fact is in first line the wind in the competition days, according local meteorogical station up to 60-70 kmh. Impressive glide ratio of 3,5 by Tony Uragallo is no statistical value here. As Yuri wrote, the real glide ratio, without effect of wind is more less. Generally: Plese don't forget the fact, that the measurements for this competition happen between 3000 and 2000 meter. The competitors go in the first jump phase, to 3000 meters, in more or less headdown and after then flare the wingsuit. The flare-effect bring 15-20% in the result. The flight is not stationary. This year we can't see lot of pilots from intermediate group. Only "profis" and "fun" jumpers. I hope, WoM win next year more intermediate wingsuit-pilots and care for more take-up during the competition.
  7. One friend of me, Ivan flew his hand-made wingsuit during the Ukrainian Boogie in Borodyanka with glide ratio 20! 1st step: "headdown" from 4300>3900 meters 2nd step: flare with climbing about 2 minutes! Look here: http://www.trackingderby.com/en/trace_view_5540_meters.php
  8. From my formation expirience the comfortable fallrate for participants with different skill level is about 90-100 kmh (56-62 mph).
  9. On-line results for WoM are here: http://www.wingsuitcompetition.com/ppc/showevent.php?event=Wings%20over%20Marl%202009
  10. Main remark: if by Justin given data is correct... Hi Justin, huge performance in time! If I look the time of Tobi Scherrinsky (73,9 s for 1000 meters) at Paralog Competition (http://www.wingsuitcompetition.com/ppc/showtimecomp.php) with his average 48,7 kmh (30,3 mph), your 3:28 over 3200 m (10500 ft) with average 55,4 kmh (34,4 mph) is realistic. Could you please post next time GPS data for your flight for the glide ratio performance.
  11. Hi Justin, how is your progress with X-Bird? Is 33 mph (or better) reproducible outcome? When can see skydive-community your evidences (GPS, screenshots from Neptune etc.) to this data?
  12. The pilot fly the suit... For 3+ minutes flight you need suitable expirience. The suit alone can't do 3+ minutes automatically
  13. ... and the name for this new tool is "Stealth-2"?
  14. Why you will pay for a hot ballon climbing? Start direct from a cliff. Fast and painfree way for self destruction.
  15. Nice post, Alejandro! Thank you for your formation coaching! Great job! I hope, the presented bottle of Samogon find appropriate application in the next weekends in Belgien
  16. Hi Justin, it is possible to post GPS-track on trackingderby.com? 33 mph (53 kmh) was flown with V2s at Stupino Winguit Competition 2007 by best Russian wingsuit pilots. Could you please post the exit and deploy altitude for 3:20? Denis
  17. So folk, please find enclosed small guide, write by myself, with information concerning DZ Borodjanka and Kiev. I hope, this information can help you in first days with adaptation and with transfer from International Airport Borispol to DZ
  18. 1. Deniq Got today an interdiction from DZ direction for jumping on DZ Marl. 2. Hagen 3. Benedikt 4. Costyn 5. Jarno 6. Tobi 7. Helmut 8. Guido 9. Regine 10.Lucky 11.Danni 12. Tony
  19. Just upload your gps-track on www.trackingderby.com and be happy

  21. Up to 7 minutes flight is here possible. But not for every body, especially without special preparation in fitness room... How you can measure it during the ws-flight? Good possibility for a fly-by with an Airbus or a Boeing
  22. From which altitude will you jump?
  23. 1. Dmitry Karpekov 2. Lutz Lüdtke 3. Jarno Cordia 4. Costyn van Dongen 5. Hans Schoeber 6. Grisha Andreev (V2) 7. Vladimir Zanadvorov 8. Grigoriy Kvasha 9. Ivan Chaplygin 10. Branislav 11.
