    WWIII???

Yeah, sorry if my humor is a little obscure. My point is, start with Ron's two premises: you can't be 'born again' unless you've had this transformative religious experience if you've had this transformative religious experience, you can't leave the faith unless you go through some bizarre Satanic ritual Several of us have pointed out that we know people - or are people - that once considered themselves 'born again' but have since left the faith. Those people we are or know *didn't* perform the bizarre Satanic ritual. (Maybe we left because our faith simply changed, or we grew up, or we started to realize life is more complicated than we were led to believe, or whatever.) Ron's response is that those people weren't truly "born again", which is basically a classic "no true Scotsman" fallacy.

    WWIII???

I bet he's not a true Scotsman, either.
  3. Gotcha. I'm not taking any position on whether HRC would run or not, although if you forced me to bet, I'd say not, for a variety of reasons. But that's just speculation. I was just commenting on who I thought HRC meant when she was referring to the "current Dem/future third party candidate backed by the Russians". I mean, it's pretty clear the "she" in the reference wasn't, for example, Warren.

    WWIII???

How’s mine racist? I’m talking about buying strategies to minimize expense. I don’t mention race all all. Maybe I should have suggested buying kids for sacrifice using the CostCo membership or at BJ's Wholesale Club. How’s his racist? He’s mocking the well-known and well-documented belief, in some parts of the Christian community - from the Middle Ages through apparently even today - that "the Jews" are responsible for abducting children, referred to as the Blood Libel, which is of course false.

    WWIII???

The real trick is to buy in bulk, because when you do, the cost per unit goes way down.
  6. That's an interesting point! I just looked and apparently she just announced that she won't run as an independent when (she said if, but it's when) she doesn't get the nomination. Not sure about the timing of the HRC statement vs. her statement though, so who knows....
  7. Right. HRC's comment was [the Russians have] "got their eye on somebody who's currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate." (That would rule out Stein, I guess, for what that's worth, since Stein's not currently in the Democratic primary.) Gabbard isn't making any progress in her attempt to get the Democratic nomination, and the chatter is that she (Gabbard) would run as an Independent as a result. A quick Google came up with this.
  8. She's referring to Tulsi Gabbard. It's been the subject of a lot of discussion for a while now. The theory (insofar as I understand it) is that Tulsi would be the weakest of the current Dem candidates in the general election against Trump, and therefore if she was the nominee, that would help Trump, since Trump is a Russian asset (and not as useful if he's out of office).

    WWIII???

And, ironically, the #QAnon fools believe Trump is *fighting* the global Satanist alliance. LOL.
  10. Hol' up here... You're claiming that today's liberals were formerly Lucifarians? As in, they both venerate the essential characteristics ascribed to Lucifer? Today's liberals aren't just promoting stuff like making health care more affordable and trying curb the excesses of capitalism, but they're all secretly in a corner drawing pentagrams in goat's blood or such nonsense? You know what - JoeWeber was right. I was wrong. This is spectacularly too dumb to engage. I'd stick around to find out what happens to these wacky world beliefs when they turn out to be completely unfounded and no "Great Awakening" happens, but... you'll just move on to some other wacky non-sense conspiracy about people you don't like. Good luck. WUBBALUBBA.
  11. That would make sense if it would go away by being silent about it. But the Qultists really think that they are in on some big, well-orchestrated secret. The more we point out the complete lack of logic and evidence and the history of utterly failed predictions, the greater hope that certain people might wake up and see it’s delusional. But hey, you do you.
  12. Kind of amazing that a supposed military action can’t keep a server online. It’s almost as though Q isn’t really a military operation but was a bunch of grifters who were duping a lot of gullible people... Oh, hey, how’s that Declas coming? Did I miss it? WUGGAWUGGAWOO

It's referred to as the Baader–Meinhof effect or frequency illusion.
  15. I have a new favorite insult. Thank you!
  16. Yep. I’m just amused that if you’re paying attention, they acted against their own self-interest if they want to keep crap like 8Chan around. But hey, they were good little useful tools, hating it “because Obama” just like they were told to. (Amusingly, the actual regs were based on policies set up by GWB - and the Comcasts, etc. wanted them out of the way since then - but that wouldn’t have stirred the rubes up as much “as a bunch of President N-[boing]’s rules have got to go!”) The only solace I get in this shit show is that many of his supporters are getting hoisted on their own petard as a result of all of this. Just a shame that it’s screwing those who didn’t support him as well.
  17. Yeah, watched the whole thing, certainly no new information here. Company kicked other company off of its server - it’s a free market, they can do that We like free markets, right? My point was that “Q” screwed the pooch by saying, in reference to 8Chan, “no outside coms now or in the future”. Based on the way 8Chan is set up that basically means its can’t simply be re-created; instead, you could (and do) have a bunch of boards claiming to be the one true legitimate heir of 8Chan... but no way to verify them, and so no way to confirm someone’s posts are from “Q”. Bad move if you’re a Qultist trying to keep control of the the thing... (I mean, even if you instead said, “we’ll follow the one who is most accurate!”, you’re gonna have a bad time because the *Original* 4Chan/8Chan Q had a worse record of predicting stuff than you’d get from a monkey with a dartboard...) Anyway, to Kallend’s point - it would all just be some sort of bizarre real life alternate reality LARPing, except some people seem to be shooting others in support of this nonsense. Random aside to keep this in the category of “politics” and not “crazy fringe kooky theories”. Did you have an opinion on Obama’s net neutrality regulations, back when they were being debated (and ultimately yanked by Anit Pai at the FCC at Trump’s direction?) Lots of Fox viewers seemed to have hated them - because Fox told them to. And while wanting to have content neutral rules wouldn’t have stopped these ISPs from booting 8Chan, prohibiting slow downs and stuff like that would have helped the 8Chan’er’s causes... It’s almost as though Trump isn’t supporting “open communications” but instead backing where money can be made. (Gasp! Shocking, right!?!) Foresight doesn’t seem to be the Fox News audience’s strongpoint, though...
  18. My new favorite Q post (linked picture) (For those unfamiliar with this whole silliness, "Q" was kicked off of 8Chan recently, and now back on 4Chan, where they started, there are tons of people posting as "Q". It's kind of hilarious, really, because some of the predictions are clear troll parodies, but some Qultists are still chasing that dragon...) My personal contribution: [D]ecls hOt suMm[E]r Trump will mention Kevin Wash your hat Trust the ProcEss WYSIWYG When Trump mentions someone named "Kevin", anything happens involving a "dome", or anything happens - or happens to - something that could be abbreviated TPE (in the last two cases, note the capitalized letters), I'm going to declare myself the one true Q.
  19. The part I find hilarious is that if you take a momentary step back, and assume all of the Q phenomenon's beliefs are accurate... it *still* makes no sense. Hear me out. Assume that there is this secret Deep State conspiracy that Trump, Mueller, etc. are secretly fighting. Assume that it's a "military operation" - complex, multi-faceted, blah, blah, blah. Assume if you want they are going after secret pedo Satanists, if you feel like it. Now, once you're done assuming all this, ask yourself - does Q and "Q drops" make sense? Here's what I mean: so, it's a secret operation, right? They are trying to outwit the secret pedo Satanists who clearly have lots of power and control... Assume that someone with "Q clearance" has access to the information about the secret operation fighting "the bad guys"... So why in God's name would that guy disclose the information in the manner that he has? First, why would you give away secret operational elements. That's literally lesson #1 of InfoSec - loose lips sink ships. Why would communicating to a bunch of "faithful" riding around Wallmart in their Hoverrounds be a good thing? Who cares if Bubba knows about it unless Bubba is an integral part of the operation? Why would you share that information in a public manner (so that even the "bad guys" can read it)? Now, you might say "wELl, bEcAuSe PaTrIoTs NeEd To KnOw!", but that doesn't make sense. If people are critical to the mission, you'd want to inform them... secretly. If they aren't critical to the mission, why would you potentially risk sharing information with the baddies? Utterly nonsensical. Now, you might be stroking your chin and thinking "bUt ThEy'Re CoDeD!". Aha! So clever you are! But not really, though, right? Two problems: first, codes can be broken. You have plenty of publicly available sites that you can go to that translate Q-speak into forecasts. The evil pedo Satanists can read these just as well as the patriots. Wouldn't that work AGAINST your goal of a secret plan? Second, coded messages - written like Nostradamus' prophecies - can be misinterpreted. If you're trying really hard to tie the coded communications to reality, you're likely to have some real errors creep in. If your goal as "Q" is to keep the patriots informed, he's doing a potentially terrible job of it by generating the possibility of mis-communication. "bUt ThEy ArE pArT oF a DiSiNfOrMaTiOn PlAn!", might be the comeback. But then it's even more silly - the parts that are "disinformation" are indistinguishable from the rest. But if there are parts that are "real" and some "disinformation", you've got the same problem that the "bakers" are out there solving the riddles and posting what is and isn't "disinformation". So, you're back to the starting point. So, I have a couple conclusions. Keep the assumption that the deep state conspiracy (and Q counter-conspiracy) are real. Possible conclusion: the Q people are actually working to HELP the Deep State because they are giving away information about the operation. The Satanist pedos can use 4chan and 8chan as well, can't they - they can read the "translations" of the "breadcrumbs" just like everyone else. Another possibility: the Q people are utterly incompetent: they give away the secrets of the operation and aren't being clear about what's going on. * * * Now, this all ignores Occam's razor, of course, and ignores the fact that in reality, this is some sort of weird, bizarre masturbatory fantasy and none of it is real and that it's really a massive troll.
  20. Do you mean a bankruptcy petition is filed? (That's not "completed", for sure...) A plan of reorganization is accepted by the court? (Closer...) Or that the debts of the bankrupt estate (probably a debtor in possession in this case) are discharged? (Closest to "completed" of these three.) Some of those are almost impossible to do prior to December 31, 2019 (given the Bankruptcy Code's filing deadlines), even if they started yesterday.

    The swamp

Well, I hope so, but I won't hold my breath on it - from a leaked copy of the Johnson v. Epstein complaint, Trump is deeply implicated. But who knows, really. That case never progressed. So... Yeah. Let's see... I really do hope justice is coming.

    The swamp

How do you know he's not reading it obsessively and just not posting? Do they have to post a lot of other things to "qualify" for the right to make a comment? Edited to add: I'm not speaking for him, but personally I don't bother a lot with SC because I find the politics discussions more interesting elsewhere on the Internet, but I'll make fun of people saying crazy things wherever because... well, they're crazy. If I had to comment regularly to earn the right to make fun of people saying things that are "pants on head" nuts, then I guess I'd pass altogether.
  23. So,,, back to my meme (since I understand the difference full well). OK, it’s not socialist. I actually completely agree, and had agreed from the start. How about we adopt some of Nordic welfare state policies? It’s funny that you are so hung up on the label that you’re missing the point. Oh, and I’ll stand by my statement that socialism can overlap with democracy or authoritarianism (just like free markets can overlap with democracies or authoritarianism), and in both cases vice versa, because one is political theory and the other is economic theory. Sorry if that’s too nuanced, but they are taking about different things.
  24. One literally can compare *any* two counties with one another. On any objective metric, you can do side by side comparisons. The differences between political systems and economic systems don’t work that way. One is about how assets and resources are allocated and used. The other is about who decides what policies the counties will adopt. There’s overlap (“what are our policies on how the market will work?”) but there are lots of parts that don’t overlap, as well. So... no
