Click the dropzone tab on the top of the page in the header bar and search world wide for dz's, seems kind of silly they have such a rule, then again the brits are kind of silly buggers and look & talk funny too. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

DZ's with life flight also on the airport
stratostar replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No, it's a common reason why airport boards/cities/counties try to deny access to general aviation airports. "we have life flight operations and mixing the two would be unsafe" & "Parachuting would cause delay's to the life flight operation" It's a federal funding thing, you wouldn't understand if you have to keep asking, why? USPA couldn't produce a list when asked, so I'm asking jumpers here, knowing there a many locations in the USA that share the same airport with life flight operations without any problem. 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. Start Skydiving, Lebanon Oh. 3. The Parachute Center, Lodi, CA 4. Kutztown PA. 5. Tennessee Skydiving, Tullahoma TN 6. Oklahoma Skydive Center, Cushing Ok. 7. Skydive the Point, West Point VA. 8. Eagle Flight Granbury Tx. (counting cuz it had been there for years) 9. Skydive Aggieland Bryan, TX you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

stratostar replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Please read the OP and understand that the word "Life Flight" means an air ambulance operation. FYI- Most times it's helicopters. Please keep this thread on topic and add to the list or don't and move on thanks. (I have my reasons for asking for the info, help if you like or not) 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. Start Skydiving, Lebanon Oh. 3. The Parachute Center, Lodi, CA 4.Kutztown PA. But I think they are moving :) you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

I'm interested in making a list of DZ's in the USA who share the same airport with a life flight operation. If your home DZ or DZ you know of, share an airport with life flight please add it to the list. Thanks. 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. Yea I couldn't remember if it was called FRS when in Strasburg, cuz I remember that being more south around the springs.... Brain mold from old age I guess. Pete Terry's 180, made my first jump out of the plane and yes Ed Herson is who I was talking about.......Fandango's Truman Sparks comes to mind, he had that Helio Stallion there and got busted flying it wothout a ticket, I remember the Fed's telling him to stop doing that and well he kept on and they really busted him. I jumped across the fence with the Longmont crew or Ellen & Tim's place @ the Fort, I had a high school buddy who jumped @ Ed's. Hey it was all good times. Never did jump Strasburg. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

The orginal Mid American Sky Sports was in Hutchingson. The Kaw Valley Skydivers used Mesa Verde in Topeka in the 60 & 70's , Later became Topeka Skydivers in about 77 or so till the mid 80's. KSUSPC also used that field for many years till they moved to Wamego. There was a Green county club in Wellsville for years too. And a place in Tonganoxie in the 60's. I seem to recall a place in Lyons in the 80's or early 90's? There has been a number of jumps made @ Forbes Field both miltary & civil. in the 70's & 80's. Skydive Wichita is gone. And for some reason I was thinking they did some of the filming for the Gyspy Moths in Valley Center? I would have to check on that one. Outside of Ks. Jump Hawaii gone. Strasburg Co. Front range skydivers? Fredricks Co. The orginal Longmont. Also next door to Longmont was a place a crazy guy ran a school out of his house (can't remember his name) he did time in the Fed pen for flying without a airmans cert. Birdland Fl. Jimmy Godwin's place Umatilla Fl. Frank A's Place in Bushnell Fl. LOL New Oxford Pa. Morgantown Pa. Rome Ga. Skydive Sandwich Ill. Old Skydive Chicago Ottawa Ill. Carolina Institute Skydiving you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Try RTFM and people won't make comments dick headed or not, about your dumbass jumping habits and call you out on it when you post on the internet asking for online, after the fact rigging instructions for something so basic ...... Think before you leap! And if you really paid for an I&R, I highly advise you to seek another rigger for the next one. One of the biggest problems in the sport today is all the morons we have running around who don't know shit about their rigs and how they work or even how to pack them other then handing out 5 dollar bills and 50 bucks for a reserve repack. If your a noobie and you buy a rig, then you better know damn good and well how to use it and do basic shit like hook up your pilot chute BEFORE YOU JUMP IT or you might die!!! Now back to your regular non dick headed touchy feely patchouli wearing tree hugging bullshit programing. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Well I'm willing to bet what fell out was your total lack of understanding of how your gear works and how to hook it up the right way. I'm also willing to bet that you didn't ask a rigger to look at your work or who ever "hook it up" for you and their work. And with out so much of a basic understanding how it works or what the fuck your doing in rigging your gear the right way you went out and jumped it assuming everything was done right......Till it failed to do so and then you assume that it had to be something that "fell out" and not your fucked up'ed rigging work. If you continue down this path & way of thinking you will be dead one day! A lot of way more experianced people have died from a simple "little" mistake in rigging, read up on Patrick De Gayardon's death for one example, there are many more to choose from. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

You know sometimes it pay's to have a rigger inspect your gear, the whole system, not just your reserve. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

It has allowed me to expand my social network and reconnect with people I haven't seen in years in a "work enviroment", I wouldn't say it has driven my sales up, no. However it depends on what you really want out of a social network, there are many ways you use sites liked linkedin and other blogs to gleam organic SEO results if you use it right and use sites that allow back links to your site. You could write blogs about your company and in little time be at the top of the page as well as 2,3,6,,8 in a Google search and even drive your competors right off of page one. You need a good basic understanding of SEO and meta tags, keywords & anchor text and use them in your blogs. For example if you sell real estate one of best free marketing tools you can use is Youtube and have your own channel for all your listings and make a short video or use your free mircosoft "photostory 3" to make a slideshow and upload it, using keywords such as, DGskydive realtor, Perris CA, 123 elm street Temecula Ca 91045 and when someone Googles 123 elm st. or Temecula Ca real estate up will pop your channel and if your bloging right, your blog. And that kind of free marketing is one sure way to drive you sales up and save you on buying marketing. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I have been informed that I mistook the OP's profile as the place he left, NOT the place he is now at. That is a big relief. I have known the "shortman" from way back in the mid 70's, I have been to LSPC a number of time and been host to them as well a number of times, I have ALWAYS found that crew to be a class act and would have been VERY surprised to learn of such on goings at that DZ. To the OP, sounds like you should changed years ago, your in a good place now, maybe I can come to visit this summer and I can steal Elmo again for a flashback road trip. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

USPA Membership Dues& Rating Fees going up?
stratostar replied to chriswelker's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yea right.....@ a non GM don't hold your breath, I can think of one former GM dz now baned for life who used to use (as a GM) anyone the owner deemed good enough to do Lv. 1 AFF's and even a tandem or two, those acting as I's were USPA members. You think just because USPA kick the GM out for life those same indivdual members started to follow the BSR's. I highly doubt it and in fact there is a fair amount of documentation to show they don't and as SOP USPA don't do dick to them! Hell you can even be a USPA RD S&TA, tandem IE AFF IE S&L IE and get busted all you get is a limp wristed finger slap and walk away with your S&TA still valid. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -
There wouldn't heve been any of that shit going on when the "shortman" was alive! It' a real shame to hear that about what used to be such a great DZ with time honored traditions. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
