  1. What was done was done, there was no turing back at that point. What I saw was you handle that handle in the most professional manner and you made sure to not only make sure the problem was known to the guy, but that he was fully aware what was going on before you let it go, it was very clear what you were saying, then you made sure to wave off the other in the group and let them know there was a major problem and get away. It showed your level headed and remained calm, cool and collected, so did the guy you handed his own handle too. Pretty top notch dealing with a problem that could have be ugly had both not remained cool. Anyone hating on you, well fuck um, who cares what they think! Now just wait about 4 months and get both of you on a belly dive and fly up and dock on your buddy and hand him another one that is a spare you hide in your jump suit, make sure you smile real big as you make the hand off and do it really high up....... Then track fast! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. Just because you seem to know that, the question is, do you understand the process? As JP said you need to speak with Randy O. it can be quite confusing even to those well virsed in the process and there are a lot of hurdles to jump, some access cases take years to settle even though your right and they are wrong. 3. Wow, so many low time/jump numbers experts on here and in the sport these dayzzzzzzz. Fucking morons! Ridestrong = DGIT! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. Yea but if we draw a line in the sand, a 100yd no mans land on our side, mark it VERY well for all to see and know about it....... Then if your in that area coming north we can just open up fire with no warning and light them motherfuckers up! Add in a few land mines for the scatter too. Jesus and his pals would soon thing twice about stepping into the line of fire. You want a fund and have a drug war, then make it a real war like front and start the shooting of anything that moves across the line at non entry points with no questions asked. Over all it would save us a lot of time and money. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  6. Was, us four old salts geared up for a lift, after watching the winds for over an hour 1/2 (dying down) standing there about to get in the 182 when a good gust passed by, one was heard to say "did ya feel that gust?" Yep! Checks wind o meter 10mph just did 27, about that time another old salts says, "too old to get hurt in high winds!" I went home and mowed the lawn. Oh well I'm sitting in my easy chair typing as the skies call, and not the ER or recovery and my gear still looks pretty, call'in for rain tomorrow. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. Well clearly the training at that dz is lacking from the top down to the lowly class room handlers. And it's clear we have a disconnect of supervision and guidance from the USPA and its "in field" leaders to the membership. After all one must question why this lack of guidance and instructional support is lacking in so many key areas. How could jumpers at the home dz of their USPA regional director who is also a S&TA display such poor performance on a regular bases that it is reported here regularly by said regional director and S&TA? 12. Well that would be a good thing to have on video then and let's hope they do try it, that is one fast way to get the FAA to place a understanding on those who fail to "get it". If you have it on video that will really help the lawsuit too. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. You need one of those shelfs with a locking door on it, for a keg cooler and install one tap trap door with remote, so when your done jumping or packing you can hit the remote and up will pop the tap. Now if your really cool, you could also install a an auto cold glass handler, that way not only the tap pops up, but a nice ice cold glass for you to fill up too. Should help with you old and grumpyness thing...... maybe! P.S. get you some good beer and not that Labatt's, moosehead, Molson, Kokanee shit! 18. All of this bullshit across the country is what is going to kill the sport, because the mom & pop 182 backbone of the industry for years is going to the way side, or i should say being run out of the industry by the greed and mega supersize dz's who need every penny they can get their hands on to pay for the 1.5 million or so dollar aircraft. While it may not happen over night, it's already happening and soon all you'll have left is a long drive to some big "skydive supercenter". The genie is out of the bottle and sadly there is no putting it back in the bottle. There have always been a side of the sport that had the dirtbag crooks, thieves and scumbags, it was a small minority of the sports population, now that side of the sport has a foothold and money to burn by ripping off and finding a way to get their hands in the cash box of every dz who has not the capital to out market the crooks. Pretty sad really. And we won't even get into the nasty backstabbing of local politics added in, like going around a town of a start up dz and handing out flyers and attending city meetings that say how unsafe and bad skydiving is to a community of your competitors place. There is a new breed of lowlifes taking over and doing their best to shit on this sport and while doing it they all claim they do it for the "love of the sport" or "to keep you jumping turbines" and are smiling all the way to the bank, kind of like fucking you in the ass and trying to tell you it's really only a proctologists exam. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. The move to go down that road is driven by those who run "rating schools", these same people tried to limit the I/E rating and made changes to the old I/E to make it harder for the small weekend 182 dz I/E's to keep their ratings, now you can go every two years at great expense out of pocket to keep one, most weekend 182 dz I/E's don't make a living with it and hardly make anything for a course to afford a trip to the west or east coast every two years. There are those in the current I/E -CD pool who wish to limit the number of additional CD's because they "already have a hard enough time making a living in the industry". These people could care less about your 182 operation and lack of staff, yet they all will say other wise to your face at PIA/DZO conf, because they would love to be paid to come to your dz and run a course for few hundreds a head and expenses and paid jumps. I still have my JM patch, I earned it. It's funny how uspa made all the JM's grandfathered into I's and started the coach program to replace the JM's, yet those of us who had both ratings, JM & I were just left with an I and not grandfathered into coach. HQ's remarks were your an I already and can do all the things a coach can do. Yet they can hand out I's to former JM's who took no course for the I, and strip away a JM and not replace it with a coach, well unless you want to pay for it and take a course. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  21. Well I know where I would be going for my jumps. 39 or 76. 39 and i bet if you know how to pack you'll get 5 or 6 off that. Oh and if your a poor college school kid and want to stay in the sport you need to 1. learn to pack 2. cut grass, take out trash and any other jobs you can do to earn jump money around the dz. 3. start a college club at your school if there is not one already and take a lot of people to your dz, most will give xx amount a head or a free jump for each tandem or FJC student you bring in. You can make a damn good amount of cash by being good at packing, tandems pay 10 to 12 per rig and student/sports rigs pay 5 to 6 plus tips if your good and people like your work, I've known a number of college kids who got their A license with nothing out of pocket and even took money home after a good weekend. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. 1. You can make a disk image and then burn it 2. burn it in toast 3. if your going to use imovie and do a lot of videos, it would best for speed to get you a cheap dvd recorder unit and use your camera as a pass thru unit, in other words export the video back out of imovie and into the camera that is wired to your recorder, just lock your tape so it won't record the signal and it pass thru to the recorder. While that way will not have the joe cool menu and all that like idvd, it will speed up the burn because you don't render anything, the rendering of everything is what takes so long if you don't make a disk image first. Should you decide to try that and like it, you can find a cheap and or broken camera that will still power up and work for pass thru so you can keep it in line fulltime and not fool around locking and unlocking your tapes, or get you a working unit and go ahead and record each video your burning, that way you have each video in an edited copy should you need another one, however it adds a lot to your media storage. I might also add that if your going to use imovie for tandem production fulltime, you should set up a templet of canned shots like ,intro, taxi, takeoff, climb etc, then all you need to shoot is your interview, couple short shots in flight of their smiling face or looking out the window, the jump, post jump interview and that will speed up things a great deal because your only importing less then 5 mins of video and dragging and dropping those select shots, make your audio adjustments and change the name in your opening title and your done ready to export in real time to your recorder. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  24. And your taking all that time to write albeit, the truth, to someone who supports a skyride supporting dz. just like those from ASC who defend Ben & Cary, those who support places that are in bed with Skyride, will never care to hear your truth, they like the new fancy digs and the turbine fleet.
