That's a pretty fair question. I think Lyle (if Kenny turns out to be Cooper) just GOT LUCKY. He sees a TV show and the sketch on that show. He thinks his brother could be the hijacker. But he's a country guy, a former farm boy, real nice but not real sophisticated. He gets this idea it could make a good film and approaches it from that angle, instead of working on trying to actually PROVE Kenny was Cooper. But then Skipp Porteous, a very good PI, comes into the picture and starts investigating. So does Geoff Gray. Suddenly...it looks as if Lyle might actually be onto something. Porteous sends me out into the field for over a year interviewing people from all over. The one thing Porteous was able to do that Gray wasn't was to locate the people who actually knew KC best. Gray mostly interviewed co-workers or tried to link KC through his pictures via stew Flo Schaffner. Then History Channel gets involved. I don't know. In the end, there are these witnesses, their testimony, other evidence. None of it proves absolutely that Kenny is Cooper. I'm sure at some point someone will finally figure it out for sure one way or another. The people he will share it with (law enforcement and the media) will have little interest. So, I'm not sure what the point of that was, other than taunting the forum, which, as I confessed, I fell for. I should know better. Most likely there is no new information. Look...the full version of the new PDF is the intellectual property of AB of Seattle. A lot of work went into it and by more people than just me. The original version was freely available for more than a year. About the only REAL inaccuracies in it regarded the purchase of the house in Bonney Lake, and that purchase (in and of itself) cannot link Kenny Christiansen to the hijacking. We both understand that, I think. Over the last five years, I have seen people involved in investigating this case do some pretty ugly things. I also feel that some of them can no longer be trusted. There is a great deal of competition in Cooperland because people support this suspect or that, and if something might point to another suspect, and LESS to theirs...things can get weird. They start pulling out the personal-attack card on you. I won't go into details about all that again, but it happens all the time, and continues to happen. Besides...it's obvious that many people who post up the responses absolutely do NOT believe KC was Cooper. I'm okay with that. Opinions are rampant in the Cooper case. But this opinion is not shared by everyone. A great deal of people have either seen the book or the History Channel show (they keep re-running it on H-2). And I receive a fair number of messages from folks I don't even know. My standard response is 'we just don't know' if KC was the guy. That's the truth, which I have stated all along. If you've all arbitrarily decided that it is 'absolutely no way' that KC was the hijacker...then WHY do you keep demanding to see any new evidence about him? Why would you bother? So you can post the PDF over at your site and discuss it without even giving me a chance to see that discussion? Not to post...but just to see what's being asked and said about it. Historically, this has often been the case with politics at all levels. And in DC it's been worse than now if you look back at American history. My philosophy these days is not to worry too much about what goes in DC unless it affects you very directly, and worry more about the local level in politics. You know...what goes on in YOUR town. Nothing really serious, but they existed. Second, it was lacking in certain information that I withheld as a safety measure, kind of like when the cops hold a few things back to ensure a false confessor is actually false. Nobody 'blocked' the PDF from view. I took the whole darn thing down and DELETED it, replacing it with a new, and much more expanded one. You keep MISSING the main point of the PDF. It doesn't exist to PROVE Ken Christiansen was Cooper. It exists to help others discover the truth. But the nature of it means the public is not the tool to do that, but rather law enforcement or the media perhaps. So that's all who will see it, at least for now.
