It must be something the FBI is holding back. Was my highlight from the McCoy book not worth posting? I thought it was. Yes. I think it was worth posting. Is this a trick question? It isnt so much that the FBI is holding back or that Ckret was holding back so much as, nobody knows - that is the central truth in the Cooper saga. The missing link is the gap in basic facts that simply were not obtainable or failed to be collected at the time, for a million different reasons. Cooper literally hijacked this aircraft at a very bad time when people and systems were down and the weather favoured Cooper. It is as simple as that. Otherwise it would have turned out differently and we wouldnt even be discussing it.

L = Clp AV ^(2)/c = ~2 Cl = lift constant of airfoil p = air density V = velocity A = life area of wing

I can direct you to another Cooper tractatus that says with full authroity: Cooper had a wrist altimeter, life raft (in the chute), life jacket (under the chute), walkie talkie (Knight kit), and of course thenuclear bomb you are always talking about .... Maybe you wrote the artikle?

I'll accept that Bohan is real. I want to know how he independently measured winds aloft that night on approach. Reply> There is a Boeing history of Continental. But no contacts on the website.

I'll accept that Bohan is real. I want to know how he independently measured winds aloft that night on approach. Reply> well then you are ahead of Continental itself because they have no one who can confirm Bohan ever existed! Continental is a black hole. a BLACK OPS operation I guess because I have never even been able to find much less talk to any corporate person (in the flesh) who knew anything about the pilots who flew for Continental, flight skeds, etc etc etc., I evidently have never found the right switch at Continental that would open some door to their flesh-n-blood history. Quite frankly these Texarcanians are so paranoid they might as well be on Mars! I even had one moron at Continental ask me: "are you FBI"? I guess only the FBI gets to talk to Continental ... to find a lost bag? PDX Itl Airport is a whole different matter. Nice folks. I confirmed Kenneth Hastings at PDX a long time ago. Maybe have even found him - he may still be alive, but Ive never tried to contact him beyond that. Didnt want to bother him thinking I could work through Continental and get to Bohan that way. But as per the above that never worked out. So I just dropped it. Sooner or later someone is going to have to ask H about Bohan and who knows what they will yield. Or, it will never be solved. And there is no point in guessing in the meantime. I tend to believe Sluggo's response is extreme. Ralph would never have put this in his book unless it happened. There was a flight above and behind 305 somewhere along V23. I see nothing unusual about that on its face. There was a Tom Bohan flying for Continental. There was a Ken Hastings at PDX who knew H and Tom Bohan and was involved in 305 going by PDX on the evening of 11-24-71. We just cant get any information about it and Continental is a black hole that has no history ... and probably no historian. Today Continental is at the brink financially and cant even pay its janitor! I would look for a collector flight skeds (on eBay?). He might know and be able to confirm something. Thats the best I can offer and it isnt anything.

My first challenge to you (in your role as a journalist) would be to prove that Captain Bohan and his Continental Airways Flight actually existed. Not one respected journalist, researcher, nor FBI spokesperson (Robbie, notice I used a gender non-specific term), has shown any indication that the flight ever existed. Also, when thinking about this testimony (the Bohan thing), ask yourself why a (FAA part 135, passenger carrying) pilot would be flying on a VFR, Low-altitude Airway (V-23), at 14,000 MSL, while on approach to PDX and not the ILS (Instrument Landing System) inbound from the west (landing to the East). Get these issues resolved (to snowmman’s and georger’s satisfaction) and then you can call it “the truth” (the term you used and one I am not allowed to use). If you can prove that the Bohan/Continental story has legs, then you will have made a major contribution to the body of knowledge about NORJAK. Reply> Yea well, let's get serious about this. Tom Bohan existed. He isn't myth. Bohan made his contact with H through one Kenneth Hastings who was the Manager of the airport at Portland at the time ... this resulted in H and Bohan having breakfast. This is the account on NORJAK. Snowman found flight skeds for NWA. Maybe old flight skeds exist for the Continental flight that day. Let me ask around.

Welcome Bruce. I hope your time here will be productive and enjoyable. The McCoy book hasnt been discussed much here (I brought it up recently in passing) primarily because the FBI dismissed McCoy on physical and other grounds, as being DB Cooper. Some of us here like myself tend to take the work of the FBI seriously, and work from that foundation. The Contenental pilot, Bohan, was been discussed here, at some length. I and others take his testimony very seriously but there is a problem reconciling his report with the standard (FBI) report on winds that evening. Perhaps you could give people a synopsis of the Ron and Pat Forman work as that has not been covered here. Simply put, the DZ is uncertain because the flight path is uncertain, likewise the issue of the oscillations vs bump (pressure fluctuation) which occured. Ckret was of the opinion that the oscillations and bump were two distinct events. Good luck - Georger

Be considerate of the FBI Georger. They'd feel a whole lot better if their only unsoved skyjacking was done by a mastermind rather than a moron. For me the jury is still out on Cooper's intellect. I see indications of both idiocy and high intelligence. 377 I go through stages and come back to the same profile every single time. Must be an obsession. I can still set you up with VT psk if you want. Just linked another guy tonight. You're next. . PM me.

Hate to be the party pooper again, but this is patently false. #1 & #3 are impossible; they do not explain the money unless you add in some "conspiracy" type thinking (ie, more than one person handling the Cooper ransom or a literal army of people monitoring the flight all got it wrong) You also ommitted a viable explanation, which is that Cooper himself placed the money somewhere in the Washougal watershed. I want to remind people that if you're thinking about the Washougal, it's quite a leap of faith. He did not land there, so he would have had to hike. It's possible, but I don't think it would be likely that he'd survive then hike up some mountains to hide the money... but whatever. Right now, the only Cooper I care about is Marquis. I knew him, and my heart goes out to him, his wife, his daughter, his family, and all of his friends. He was always nice to me and was quite a remarkable person. I hope we can all get some closure, but I'm also realistic... You are good. Its always a pleasure to read almost anything you have to say. Damn. You are good.

Cooper brought up Tacoma without any prompting. It was one of his singular voluntary statements of fact. You decided his remark was a random guess. I decided it was not. Goes to context and background. Had Cooper ever been seen before at Tacoma? Did the FBI search for connections at Tacoma? (yes) Under the weather conditions at the time was Tacoma even visible from Cooper's position on the airplane? Why would he mention Tacoma at all? Where was the plane with respect to Tacoma at the time? What at Tacoma was significant to this flight, if anything? Did Cooper mention Tacoma more than once? Who was the Chief of Police at Tacoma at the time? Is there anything at Tacoma that relates to Vancouver and where the money was found?

It’s just a photo of a friend acquaintance that I used to enjoy talking with. He is was a real smart guy and I enjoy enjoyed having friendly arguments and discussions. Then one day, something went wrong in his life and he turned abrasive, cynical, and sometimes cruel. I really don’t know what it was. Whatever it was, I wish it hadn’t happened. Now, I just feel sorry for him. Sluggo_Monster We dont need this kind of thing here. Jo will think he's an FBI agent! (talk to you soon. I havent forgotten)

Duane thought so, but McCoy didnt fit the physical description and with all his blood on the floor the dna comparison was easy! How many quarts does it take! That assumes that the FBI has Cooper's DNA. How can you be sure that they really do? If Cooper were really clever he could leave stuff that had other people's DNA on it. I wonder if your DNA could be extracted from your ties? Seems like a a tie, with no skin or hair contact, might not have the wearers DNA on it. 377 Cooper was not "clever". He hijacked and aeroplane, for God's sake. He did not oxygenate the hemoglobin molecule and get a Nobel Prize while trading in rare metals! This guy starts ringing bells at the moron scale. The only question is how smart a dummy he was. Duane by contrast was smart enough to stay home, play with a wife, and conduct simple scams under the cover of facial hair .... and a delusional ego. My grandfather used to have an IQ test: "You hitch a mule to a goat to a pig to a chicken. Which would you ride to town." You would be surprised how many pick the chicken thinking its a trick question. Snowmman would!

I distinguish between apparent and actual. Given the long history of symptoms we cannot assume anything ... moreover the usual prognosis is what it is.

I may have my facts wrong, but McCoy seemed like such a great fit but for the alibi. 377 Duane thought so, but McCoy didnt fit the physical description and with all his blood on the floor the dna comparison was easy! How many quarts does it take!

I'm really interested in the Himmelsbach angle. He's a storyteller. Be good to get more data out of him. He may be a big mythmaker. Don't know. And to think the Great Snowbird MISSED the Tacoma angle altogether! Shame.

Tell Jerry that being nice is a two-way street. Tell him to reflect on his behavior/attitude. I'll reflect on mine. Reply> No you won't. You're an imposter. Send Snowmman back and you take a hike.

There's only one reference to me in the post above. Problem. Correct. Or, I can just click a switch and filter you out! Click. Bye.
