geez, I didn't know student gear had that capability. I used to crank on those spins. Then, as my dz owner had previously warned me about not to do once I got my own gear, I cranked down the toggle and got some real good twists (without realizing how far down I had it), but got out of them. After I got the twists out I thought "oh yeah, he did say not to go down all the way for a spin." heya, I don't think I am getting in over my head, but I sure do have a few butterflies about going to wffc. I just found out I am going. I have never been outside my dz. The guys I am going with said they would watch out for me and keep me away from the hot shots. I am confident in my ability to always be aware of people around me in freefall and under canopy. my mom is the funniest with this. Every time we are hanging out she will tell random people--"Mary skydives, I don't get it.. WHy would someone jump out of a perfectly good airplae!! I mean, c'mon!" These are some questions I had when I was a student from my friends whuffo: do you pack your own parachute? me: no whuffo: whoah! I'd never let someone else pack it for me! how do you know they did it good? (hmm..I'm thinking they know a bit more than myself at that point) whuffo: how many times have you jumped? me: 17 (at the time) I just graduated. whuffo: cool! so, you can be my instructor now? me: uh, no. whuffo:so you like it? I went a long time ago, but it was a blast! I sat in the front (um--that is where the action is). I never fell off, thank goodness, the water was just above freezing. yikes! have fun

I see dogs on a daily basis (I groom them). I have to agree that a golden is an awesome dog--great w/everyone. Pitbulls are good IF you make sure you know the line it comes from. The reason it has a bad reputation is because inbreeding can make for an agressive dog. 22(no. of times I slapped myself for not doing pin check in plane) : 7 : well, there is always something.. first time flying into a 4 way and not being base, first time turning 9 points in a 4way, first time being pulled back into the plane by the pilot because he wanted to save my life (and his) when he saw my pilot chute hanging more than halfway out..[slap!]

well guys, I was going to write a post about this today, but it seems I was beaten to it. PIN AND HACKEY CHECKS ARE CRUCIAL IN THE PLANE (especially in cessna's). Just today, I was in a cessna and had a two-way planned. I was sitting student, next to the pilot, and the guy in front of me was moving around a bit. Somehow, my hackey got stuck, and (the only time I forgot to do a pin check) I went to get out and I felt pulling. At first I thought the wind was stronger than normal, then I was being pulled back into the plane by the pilot. He, thank God, was paying attention and saw that my pilot chute was almost completely out of the boc. Please, especially in small planes take the time to at least reach around and check your stuff. I could have hurt people other than myself due to ignorance and complacency. I definately won't make that mistake twice. What if it had been stuck and the pilot didn't notice? I really feel like an idiot for not taking the 3 seconds to check myself. So, I just wanted to share that with you all. ---um, I went to new orleans for spring break, I think I will be ok for that one. - so you can tell it is my first concert....oops oohhh, you guys got me pretty excited for this. It better be good, the tickets were forty dollars, and the room will be twenty for me (crammin in 6 people). That alone is 4 jumps. THen you have to factor in the food and alcohol.
