  1. Right, because in Jakeeville, pointing out a potential violation of Constitutional Rights and saying it's acceptable because it pisses someone off is the same. Glad I don't live in Jakeeville.
  2. Because it makes people like you angry, and I find that amusing. Yes, I'm sure people like you find trampling all over someones Constitutional rights really funny. Of course until it happens to people like you. Then you whine like a baby with a full diaper load.
  3. Great, let's pass a law that bans crazy people from purchasing or stealing guns.
  4. I suspect Boehner will lose his Speakership. Good riddance.
  5. I disagree. "Acting scary" is open to interpetation and does not necessarily show ill intent. Shouting "fire" in a theater is pretty clearly done to elicit a specific reaction.
  6. I wonder if the people who find this perfectly acceptable would have the same attitude if this was a store that sold "legal marijuana"? Somehow I suspect there's a correlation.
  7. Please explain why you find this perfectly acceptable.
  8. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/12/20/connecticut-shop-where-nancy-lanza-bought-1-of-her-guns-raided-by-feds/ Yes, I'm sure there is no relation. I edited out some of the parts of the story that kept referring back to the shooting as justification for this raid.
  9. So you think it's just fine to jail a homeless guy, without bond for acting scary? Are you serious? Well, I guess when you think it's OK to kill Americans with drones, without due process, that this attitude shouldn't come as a surprise. I wonder if it occured to this idiot Judge that a homeless guy, sleeping on the beach, perhaps has mental problems and hasn't even heard about the recent violence towards children. But hey, lock them up, that'll show'em. We need to keep having these knee-jerk reactions to make ourselves feel safer. This Judge should be fired.
  10. Right after you make any proposal. Unless you just think these 20 kids are a small price to pay for American Society and nothing can be done. Pretty interesting coming from someone who supports the murder of tens of millions of children.
  11. If I had to choose one over the other, I'd rather have a gun to protect me from a criminal than an Obamaphone to call 911. Or rather so others could call for me as I lie in the gutter bleeding out.
  12. Yes..yes..let's model our society after the Chinese. Require a permit to have children and only allow 1 child per couple. Non-compilers will be castrated.
  13. So retail stores that prey on poor people are the same as a gang member who sticks a gun in a little old ladies rib and takes her SS money?
  14. So poor people deserve to be preyed upon by criminals just because they are poor? The government can provide them with Obamaphones to help them to search for a job or call 911 in an emergency but not the means to protect themselves from criminals?
  15. I don't agree that people of low incomes should be priced out of owning a gun. Quite often, they are in greater need than a gun collector.
  16. Imagine what a great place Iraq would have been if nobody except the government could own guns.
  17. Exactly. But, they are significantly harder and significantly more expensive to get your hands on. They are also used significantly less in crimes and murders. You think that is just coincedence? Great, let's make it difficult for crazy, irresponsible people with little money to get guns. Perhaps we could impose an income requirement, then people with little means wouldn't be able to afford them. I'm sure that would go over real well in the poorest neighborhoods where they need protection more than people in more well-to-do areas.
  18. Sounds like bans and restrictions are pretty effective then. Actually, it shows how little you know about guns. There are many fully automatic weapons out there. They are, for the most part, owned by law abiding citizens.
  19. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. Basically the geeks that keep our society running. I thought that plumbers and trashmen kept our society from falling apart. In my area the plumbers turn up with hi-tech tools designed by engineers, and the trash is processed in hi-tech facilities designed by engineers. And you didn't even mention sewage treatment plants. Weren't nuclear bombs and modern weapons also designed by engineers? I wonder how many deaths engineers have been responsible for?
  20. It's also worth pointing out that when this country finally gets serious about reducing spending, police and law enforcement will be one area that spending cuts will have to be made. Fewer Police means more crime and shifts more of the responsibility for personal safety to the individual. In addition, as our economy worsens, the crime rate will move upward. Only an idiot would think that making weapons harder to get is a good idea.
