Ya But I have had my turns at it too This is an emotional event Some want to make is stop They see guns as the issue Remove the guns this will stop Thats what happened here in the UK... It didn't work. Now the gun-o-phobes have become the knife-o-phobes? This is apparently a case in which the mother knew she had an emotionally disturbed child. She chose to have guns in her house that she failed to secure. In all fairness, I'm sure she never thought he would do something like this, but had she secured her guns, this event may never have happened.

They will not fight for Rice, I think she might have actually made a decent SoS. Just watch them nominate a rich white male who's a member of the 'good ole boys' club. Yes, but if it isn't John Kerrey, look for the Republicans to pitch a fit. They want it to be him, so there will be some hope of Scott Brown getting the vacated seat in the next election. Yup, and Obama fell right into the political trap. BTW, did you know John Kerry was in Vietnam?

And if you were better informed you would know that over 1000x as many people have been shot to death in the same time period. So you are claiming over 20,00 people in China have been killed in gun crimes since 201? I call BS. Prove it.

Not the same issue? WTF ... A crazed man walked into a school in China with the intention of harming innocent children. A crazed man walked into a school in the US with the intention of harming innocent children. Sure guns are more efficient weapons than knives, but yes these two are the same. Neither the knife nor the gun woke up this morning and decided they wanted to harm children. What is this world coming to? It is the human who has gone over the edge, not the inanimate object. You are wasting your breath.

Says a guy wearing a sharks suit.

What's pathetic is your attempts to discount the same issue because the body count from slashing isn't the same. Seriously pathetic. Your view is myopic due to your well documented gun-o-phobia.
-
You haven't actually read the entire thread, have you? Perhaps you should. Then you would have found out that there have been 20 people slashed to death since 2010. Then you wouldn't look so ill-informed.

Doesn't the lack of thinking skills by some in Speakers Corner just astound you?

Not at all. As a country we were trying to help NK stay just an annoyance, now they have graduated to a possible nuclear target. The people of NK & the world should feel a lot safer. Hypocrisy is hypocrisy. Period. If it's OK for USA, UK, Russia, France etc. to have nukes and long range rockets, why is it not OK for Iran and NK? Just because we don't like them? How many countries has NK invaded in the past 50 years? How many has the US invaded? Any objective analysis would show that WE are the bigger threat. Funny how you bang on about preventing nutters from getting guns but think it's perfectly alright for a country that has stated they want to wipe out another, to have a nuclear weapon.

***No motive was given for the stabbings, which echo a string of similar assaults against schoolchildren in 2010 that killed nearly 20 and wounded more than 50. The most recent such attack took place in August, when a knife-wielding man broke into a middle school in the southern city of Nanchang and stabbed two students before fleeing. In one of the worst incidents, a man described as an unemployed, middle-aged doctor killed eight children with a knife in March 2010 to vent his anger over a thwarted romantic relationship. Sure it does. That's what we do in SC.

http://www.courant.com/sns-rt-us-china-stabbingsbre8bd065-20121213,0,5592318.story The Chinese obviously have a problem with their culture. I predict these attacks with a knife will continue to become more frequent.

So Walmart can save the world?

You guys have all seen one too many John Wayne movies, Funny how all of you would be Paul Kersey's lose your Machismo when the rubber meets the road. You haven't actually read what anyone has said in this thread, have you? You just skimmed over everything and thought you saw someone projecting machoism, didn't you? You didn't read where most of us stated that we would not draw our guns to protect anyone, did you? Don't you think you should read and understand what's being discussed before commenting?
-
Perhaps when you have one. And another example. Care to try for the daily trifecta?
-
Another example of your complete inability to understand the point.
-
Non-Police citizens who carry weapons are not law enforcement. They have no duty or obligation to protect you. When they are threatened by society with harrassment for drawing their guns, then don't complain when they walk away. Fortunately, in the States where you and I live, there is a more sane attitude towards gun ownership. In other States, not so much. As I have said, there's no way I would draw a gun to protect anyone but myself and my family. I would suggest that those who thinks I am responsible for their safety, should consider protecting themselves.
-
What gets under my skin is do-gooders who want to impose their fears on the rest of us and then are amazed at the consequences. These people likely died because of the atmoshere fostered by the anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment nuts. And now you complain about the inaction of concealed weapons permit holders? Are you freakin serious???
-
Well of course, because it takes a PhD to be able to tell the difference between a guy in camo and a mask who is carrying a firearm in a shopping mall and actually shooting at people, and a guy in a hoodie walking through a townhouse complex. There's just so many similarities, they might as well be twins! Everyone knows that hoodies are way more scary than "assault rifles" (whatever those are). Don Your failure to understand is at times, breathtaking. Talk about missing the point.

Oh, that's right, you and Kallend have some magic crystal ball or sociological formula that allows you the superntural ability to know in advance who is going on a killing rampage. And barring that, would rather trample on the Constitution if it "just saves one life".
-
Or maybe the mall has a no gun policy that made it a free kill zone for this nut That's also very likely. If they do, then hopefully, the Mall will be sued for having such a policy. Wouldn't that just cause the Gun-O-Phobes to have an aneurism?
-
You do understand that liberals like you, with your hatred of guns and for the people that carry them, have made it much less likely that someone would use their gun to save your life, don't you? I live in an open carry State but very few actually do carry this way because it freaks the gun-o-phobes out and they call the Police. This causes open carry gun owners to seek concealed permits. When I took my concealed weapons class, we were told that if we draw our guns, be prepared to be harrassed. If we ever discharge our guns, even if our own life is in danger, expect to be arrested and spend $50K-$200K on legal fees even if found "not guilty" I would not draw a gun to protect anyone but myself and my immediate family because of the atmosphere the Gun-O-Phobes have fostered.
-
Perhaps the CCW permit holders were not personally threatened and given events like the Trayvon Martin incident, chose to flee rather than confront.
