My first 2 jumps with a camera.
Tuna-Salad replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That is a good idea about switching.. Never thought of the issues about the placement. I'm not going to put ring sights on anything anytime soon even after I start jumping a camera for a bit. Based on what I have seen with the rod sticking out that is just asking to get caught on something. I'm def not ready to start adding bulky cameras and other peripherals onto my equipment, which is why I got a tiny cam. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -
Maybe not, but the financial obligations after said sex might come pretty close. (See one of my previous posts about the woman I'm seeing) I'm not real good at the whole one night stand thing seeing as how I don't like to be an asshole. Although in my case.. I wish I'd known what a cutaway was when I met her.... Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

I regret to inform you that I am not this guy. Games are my source of income so to speak and what I did prior to sky jumping. I have used other names such as: Steak Sauce, Tuna Salad, Spaghetti Sauce... etc.... Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

I should of added "getting laid" and "other" to the list. As I mentioned before, gearing up and riding the engine to a fire that you know is burning is by far the biggest adrenaline rush I've ever had. Skydiving my first time was more like having a flashbang thrown at me. Total sensory overload. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

Hard Touchdown, Gimped for a day or so.

I know exactly what you speak of. I've done it a few times but not always. I'm probably flaring a little late. This does not happen often but when it does it's just... weird. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -
Probably another one of my stupid posts... The 3 things listed are what I think would top skydiving. There is one other for me and that is doing an interior attack on a working structure fire (which I have done several times already, but few people have the desire to do so) Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

Trust me when I say I plan to listen to all of the advice given here. I find it funny most were pretty harsh to begin with now I'm seeing encouragement to get better. (doesn't mean I will be jumping with the cam again anytime soon though) I cannot really blame the guys I jumped with as the one giving the count does not get to jump very often. Poor judgement on my part though... If I were to try this again I would go with experienced jumpers with way more air time than me. I really hate to think that I unknowingly put someone else at risk, but it is a fact. I did read my SIM before taking this on and was aware of the distraction factor and that I would need to be able to get rid of the contraption if the situation called for it. On both jumps I started recording at around 7 or 8k so I would not be distracted and fooling around with it when more important things were at hand. ARGH! I googled 'clutch foot' and I'm seeing lots of stuff about surgery. I'm afraid of needles Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -
The finest surf band to ever come out of Minneapolis! So you would agree then that the bird is indeed the word? No really.. I thought everyone had heard. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

I'm still on student gear. Solo 230 for about 40 jumps. There is no pain.. I just seem to lose use of that foot for a while. It would only hurt when trying to use the clutch on my car while driving home. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -

Yes it is.. Industrial strength... I probably could of gone without the tape seeing as how there isn't much airflow around where it is. I wish it was mounted a little higher so you guys could of seen the massive de-arch on exit. The count was something of ready set go (pause) then launch. I pretty much took a marker and drew a line where I thought the camera should be mounted after wearing it around in the back yard and looking ahead etc. Turns out it was looking more down than ahead. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -

I have not really had a problem standing up landings (Only 11 were of my 97 were not stand-up). The question here is.. sometimes I touch down pretty hard and for a couple days after I am sort of gimped. Usually happens on my left leg (because I think my left foot touches down first)... that I cannot raise my foot up.. or point my toes up to my knee after a hard landing.. the muscle flexes but I can only get my foot 90 degrees or level, but cannot go past.. if I really try then I get a tingling sensation in my thigh. The last time if I tried it would give me the urge to take a leak like someone was stepping on my bladder. When I walk it's like my foot sort of.. stomps as if I'm not picking it up all the way or it's just limp, but goes away after a day or so. What the hell is going on? Has this ever happened to anyone? Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -
For the most part stood up most of my landings but I used to flare all smooth and slow which would give me hard touchdowns.. Now I wait a little later and pull the toggles down faster... it seems to have made them a bit softer. I'm just commenting on my experience.. I don't reccomend trying anything I say.. Now my problem is standing up landings that I should otherwise plf on. *cough* when I landed on the pavement one day. Having seen this thread I have a question regarding landings but will not ask here since it is not the topic. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

What you said... I'm not the best at wording things, but I think you guys see what I'm driving at. To me skydiving is not that difficult to learn, but being good and safe minded is a steep curve. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. -

Someone on the last page said something about being adults and making choices on our own. When I was still a student I once asked Bill Brandon if he thought I was ready or would be ok to jump in moderate winds. His reply was "If you have to ask me then you are not ready" I took that and ran with it... Same as when I decided to put a camera on my head, at the time I "thought" I was a good enough flyer to introduce a new variable. Again if I had to ask if I was ready then obviously I was not. I felt I was ready. I also see a lot of people talking about jump numbers. I mean no offense when I say this, but jump numbers are almost meaningless when you consider that people with tens of thousands of jumps still screw up little things. Or that guy with 500 jumps may jump his ass off in the summer and have a long layover in the winter. Or maybe the person with 200 jumps has been in the sport for 10 years. Do you think that person will be as good a flier as someone who jumps 10 or 20 times a month? If I had known my mistakes were as serious at the time as what everyone is pointing out I would of posted this in the safety and training forum as an example of what not to do. I do however look foreward to meeting DSE and learning all he can throw my way. I don't mind drinking from a fire hose.. if you get my meaning. -
Does anyone have GTA4 for pc? If so how does it run for you? I used to consider my system a hulk but that game runs like shit. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.
