  1. Wendy, what is a pilotchute killer for a lightning?
  2. I very consistently get 55/56 TAS when I try to max out my classic 2, which I have 40 some jumps on. On the handful of jumps trying to max the skyflyer3 I get 59/60 but it is brand spanky new to me and I have yet get into the sweet spot on it. This took me about 20 jumps to do on my classic when I wasn't flocking or playing. My skyflyer performs the things my classic does but effortlessly, I haven't had to work my body as hard on the S3. I'm sure once I get into sweet spot things will change. I haven't done any "errorbatics" on the S3, small steps, just flocking and maxing. I have tossed my classic around pretty good. When playing with others the numbers are all over the place from 70 to 90. If there are any "cloud corridors" to play with then the numbers go into the triple digits and so does my heart rate. Since guys like me are at the beginner stage of learning the wingsuit I would like to know what the guys that have 500~1000 jumps on the suits can do.
  3. This mobile will now be referred to as the "solar voyager".
  4. Have fun, might see you at oshkosh.
  5. You were standing too close to the fountain @ Caesers palace you miserable drunken bastard!

    I'm happy

Don't worry the digital stills are safe right here, I promise noone will see them...... until rantoul.
  7. Eric is a Perris regular, read very regular. Most every weekend. Does a bunch of R-dub, getting his thumb into bigways, getting good at crew, just got his pro rating. Likes to do the belly side of hybrids. Nice patient helpful fellow. Friendly to everyone even thoses pesky freeflyers. Your basic mellow giving kinda guy. If you knew him you would like him too.
  8. Oh no, I was passing through there today ( not jumping) I saw his car but didn't see him to say Hello. I figured he was doing some busy work with the organizers. Bummer dude. Any details, big way skies get crowded as I witnessed, also saw a bunch of dust devils. Vibes bro!
  9. [reply I have jumped into two stadiums and done ~40 demos (10 at night) into very tight areas. I have no pro rating, yet someone who has never, ever jumped into a stadium can do it on their little ZP canopy if they have a PRO rating; I'm not allowed to do it even on my accuracy canopy. Fair? I'd say yes. If I do want to do that I can prove my abilities by getting a PRO rating. Hey Bill now I'm curious. How do you jump into a stadium without a pro rating? Night demos? Sorry for getting off topic, PM if you like. Thanks
  10. Are you glad for just those reasons or also the fact that once again and more so than before it was a showcase operation of effectiveness. Things performed there will be taught at the war college for some time to come. It also shows our resolve as opposed to some the lasts administrations bungled attempts in somalia, etc.
  11. And not to take away or make you guys into evil or malicious skydivers cuz you are not. I have met Derek and don't think he is, or for that matter BILL or RON, any of you are acting on anything other than making the skys above our dropzones safer in some way. I just don't believe you will be taken seriously with if you don't state the facts, only the facts. Anybody that has been around a while will say we have a problem, It must be so, I tend to agree. Remember before Radical canopys were out and guys were doing that thing were you hang upside down ( like spiderman) in your harness, feet up in your lines right up until 50 feet or flare time? I heard some of GK's did this and have seen some others do this. Well surely there must have been a better understanding of canopy flight back then, say 10 years ago. It should not be that hard.
  12. Yes you do PUTA, yes you do! All I know is this "it" does not exist, What does exist is lack of canopy ability at many levels, lack of canopy knowledge at most levels and the propagation of many canopy untruths just about anywhere. AND absolute no provision for a coarse for people to take readily except for a few DZs a limmited months of the year!
  13. I didn't personaly fly a direct comparison when it was here but hearing from the guys that did. it seems wing suits beat it in every aspect except for advertising space even the classics.
  14. And if your neck is as thick as your head: Take a day off for crying out loud.
  15. QuoteA generic canopy control course for the "B", "C", and "D" licenses. It automatically grandfathers in current license holders since they already have the license and make canopy training/education mandatory for each license. __________________________________________________ Hell no everybody has to pass the test or is this another do as I say not as I do thing? If you think we low time jumpers are going to take grief from the experienced jumpers that claim we are the danger without making the 2000 jump experienced jumpers pass the same test you are high! Although I will never argue against the guys that have a "pro" rating and have demonstrated it in real life DEMOs. There are a bunch of D rated people that do shame to their D licsence. There should be no grandfathering if you say you can do it PROOVE it!
  16. James in the case of tubine engine you need to go straight to the switch blade from the latest bond movie.
  17. And thank you Kim, This suit rocks! I could not believe how well it fits. It does have mesh in the inner zipper area. Immediate peers are way jealous they have to wait for production of their S3. Really looking forward to next time or anytime you guys are out. I really got to try the pantz too. Then ballon wing suit jumps were cancelled but not forgotten due to temperatures. You know you live in a way too hot of an area when its too hot to launch a balloon to more than 500 feet at 5 AM. Maybe Rantoul will provide. See you soon. And thanks again I never get toys like this even on christmas. You rock! Oh and BTW your legs are fine just ask Kevin, no need to mame anyone Glen
  18. Thanks, My wuffo coworkers want to build a wind tunnel on the property..... and power it with the units aux load. unlimited air time
  19. [I was afraid I'd like it and not be able to resist, just like your experience. Then I'd get antisocial onaccounta the wing suit 'cause I'd be doing all these solos. I say that since I know almost no one that has one. Now I'm thinking about it again because of this thread. | Shame, these guys did it right. They R-DUB together and after a few solos flights I saw video of Domenic and Eric doing pretty tight wingsuit relative flight. There is no reason for antisocial. Wing suits are bestest with friends.
  20. These little pockets on the sleeves are vortex generators that keep the outer wings boundry layer airflow energized.... They create little tornadoes on purpose on the first part of the wing. This helps smooth the airflow across the middle and trailing part of the cell. The part that really changes when you move your arms around.
  21. reply] Because you guys, my friends, are getting better numbers with your wing suits, even a classic. At a fraction of the cost, a fraction of the danger , bulk , problems with aircraft exit. You, yes you, guys are kicking the skyrays ass in the air. Remember it is still experimental now. And as an added bonus you guys are MUCH more photogenic on the ground with even your most guadiest of wingsuit colors than the red bull buzz lightyear imposter.
  22. Actually there are already a great many wingsuit flyers at both Perris and s'nore. Since they come from many different skydiving disciplines they may wingit on other days. Others come midweek just to have less canopy traffic to deal with. I heard a rumor of an possible upcomming organized wingsuit day at either Perris or s'nore. So stay tunned to comming events.
  23. Bill this in regards to flying at night and these symtoms are milder than the blue finger tingling and sluggish lacking motor skills. We are talking about night peripheral vision and color recognition. These are some of the benign symtoms which may have an effect at night. Sometimes these effects are made worse by caffiene. People are very different it is hard to predict how someone will react to partial gas pressures. So a safety margin for many may very well exclude a few individuals who process O2 differently.
  24. [My pet peeve - raised trucks - y'know the ones that you need a ladder to climb into, with those 4 foot tall tires... the ones that would likely crush your car and you if they rearended you. Your peeved but I just have a laugh at them, let see 38-40" tires on the original wimpy Dana30 axle. Almost as funny as imports with skateboard wheels.
