Well, it looks like you weren't sleeping when you went over for Physiology Training!!! Very nice post btw (dead on) and how's pilot training going? I may have asked this already but, do you know Guennadi Antonov? He's finishing T-1's at KCBM.......

At 14, fueling and preflighting 300 hp Cessna crop dusters and pulling them around for the pilots. Loader, flagger, and scheduler for that ag service. 72 hour weeks in the summer! Fed my grandads cows thru the winter.......

What time did it come across? Didn't see anything in Houston but we had lots of cloud cover until around 2ish........Any news on what it was?

You shouldn't clear your ears on the climb to altitude. Your middle ears will automatically vent going up just not down. Only time to perform the valsalva is on descent.

Buy the organizers drinks. Lots and lots of drinks. Don't insist on talking to them (or being anywhere near them for that matter) while they are drinking, just be sure that they know who's buying. Be generous with your stash. The candyman is always welcome at a big way. Offer to take an organizer to Hawaii (or other warm and sunny place) for a well deserved vacation. This one will probably work best on that well known organizer who lives in Belgium, and needs to be done soon, before the sun comes out in Europe. Thanks for the reply, but your not serious are you? Unless I have been grossly misinformed the organizers dont like to drink or smoke the g. during jumping hours. I'll be sure to offer some to them during the TSR and see if it helps. Nipple Boy A-19820 Your killin me.....

Don't forget to close your mouth also while performing the Valsalva....and no puffing the cheeks out.

My employer asked a few of us to become EMT-B's. So after I was "volunteered" it became an additional duty for me last year. I took the course @ a local junior college, 3 nights a wk for 3 months. Course cost $425.00. Add in books, uniforms, forms, certification both National and State, etc....etc...and my company reimbursed me for $910.00. I liked riding the ambulance.......HATED clinicals at the hospital...! Good luck, it takes a special person to want to be a full timer EMT......

totally agree. the pilot did exactly the right thing.

Nice monday morning quarterbacking there. If you look around Teterboro you either hit the airport or buildings. You have no other outs. From the sounds of it he had no time, alititude, or airspeed so his hands were tied. How'd you know I was a quarterback?! What I stated (IMHO dude), is it did not take a glider pilot (or one with glider experience) to put it down in that river....... read my post.
-
If he had worked it into Teterboro safely, then I think his previous glider experience would've shown. However, just putting it down on a relatively long, straight river that was in his field of view, then I think in this case his glider experience wasn't as much of a factor or help over a pilot w/ non-glider experience...... Awesome display of airmanship on the crews part....
-
heck, I would think you'd look forward to flying with them!
-
Yep, birds have brought down larger planes than an A-320. Kudos to the crew on this one.

Anywhere on 6th Street! Start on one end and work your way to the other..... The Aquarium, Wave, Mooseknuckle.....too many to mention.........enjoy amigo.
-
That happens more than you would know......err or so I hear. I hear that planes frequently break down in HI or Spain. Sometimes it takes weeks for replacement parts to be sent in leaving the poor pilots and crew stranded at exotic locations for extended periods of time. Like I said though this is nothing more than hearsay. hA! We broke our MC-130 @ Alconbury so we could spend another night! Luvin me some British womens!

Are military people more neat and diciplined than civilians?
Beerlight replied to Acoisa's topic in The Bonfire
Didn't teach me neatness, but it did teach me patience. And the most important, how to drink beer. -

Not necessarily called in, but one day at work I asked my boss if I could have an extended lunch hour so I could......hookup with my gf. He said HELL yea! From that day on.....he always cut me loose when I asked!
