I'm looking for . If I wanted nice I'd go buy some lollipops and hand them out at the finish line, aka: the end of their driveway. I'm not sure how the other neighbors approached them. One might have been stern as that's just him--he's older, he's bald & he doesn't take any shit. I love him! But the other ladies who said they mentioned something to them are very nice, & I can't imagine them having been rude about it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Egg-cellent. It's annoymous. It gets the point across. And can be conveniently located where only they would run over it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I love it! It's festive. It's fun. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Thanks for the pms! Before I get more of the same suggestion, yes I'm aware of how to look up the home-owner's address. But, it was a good thought to send my way b/c I know the neighbors have tried calling & e-mail but I doubt if any have actually written a letter. I'll suggest it.

A molecular agitator. Yes! Egg-cellent. More suggestions like these, please. Let's see, so far on my shopping list: 1. One 4 x 4 (can be used repeatedly. don't want to kill more trees than I have to). 2. Four molecular agitators. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

No HOA here.

Thanks Wendy. We (neighbors) actually have tried all of the above (except the 4 x 4). It would seem the contact info the home-owner left is no good. She's not the type that would want her yard trashed, that's for sure. But perhaps purchasing a new lawn, carpet & Lord knows what else when she returns is small potatoes to her. Maybe not. But no-one can reach her. We have two other homes nearby that also are rented; and just went rental recently. We knew both owners and understand why they rented--if you don't have to sell (ie: don't need the $$$) right now then now is definitely not the time to sell. Both had to move due to their job. We've had issues with all the rentals & their renters. The city is well-aware of the problems. They are actually in the midst (so we're told) in revamping the rental laws (making them more strict). Now, I'm actually very unbiased on this issue b/c we will DEFINITELY be renting this house when we buy our 2nd home. There is no way I'd sell it.

I live on a freaking culdesac and the woman who owns the house on the end moved to Hawaii and decided to rent, rather than sell. The renters now at the end are royal speed racers; putting the pedal to the metal up and down our culdesac any time they come & go. Most of the home-owners on our street have pets and most have small dogs they walk. Many have cats as well. We had a speeder run over a neighbor's cat before (prior to the racing renters) and it was devastating. I'm so scared for Zoe' who loves to play outside for a couple hours/day. I'm scared for Cruzer who loves to race outside and run all around to greet Billy when he gets home. I'm scared for the little ol' lady who walks her little 'ol dog about three times/day down our street. Another neighbor has called the police and I definitely do see a police car troll down our street now once in a while, but never (sadly) when the renters are coming or going. If I sound hostile toward renters it's b/c as a home owner I've come to realize why people despise having renters in their communities now. Why, just b/c one doesn't own the property, does one not give a shmack about anyone living around them or how they treat the property they live in? I used to rent. I have friends that rent. We were always respectful of the neighbors and the place we rented. I know a lot of other renters are this way as well. It just seems like these renters are NEVER the ones that move into your community. Our city has strict renting laws. In fact, there are no apartments anymore; only condos. And there can only be two people on a property lease--so why are there four people living in this rental w/ four cars and all their friends' cars always parked all around the culdesac making it difficult to turn around and all of them speeding their way down before arriving and parking? The police actually did say something about their parking situation, and guess where they park now? Ans: All over the property-owner's lawn; or at least what used to be a lawn. Anywho...I could go on...but my main issue is the speeding. Plenty of neighbors have said something and they don't seem to give a rat's bootie. It's time for more creative tactics to cease the excessive mph. Any suggestions? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I love to joke about everything and definitely find the humor in most drug-related jokes. It's really hard, though, for me to find humor in drugs commonly used as date-rape drugs; b/c you don't have to be a user, don't even have to be a heavy drinker, don't have to be stupid or slutty or even have to have made a bad decision. It's SO easy to slip one of those suckers in a drink, even if the drink is diet soda straight-up; even if you're guarding that diet soda with your life; even if you're not at a party but a study session. Date-rape drugs were SO common when I was in school and I'm only 26. They scare the hell out of me. And imagine how much of a prude you look like (though it never bothered me) to respond when a guy you know, and know well, hell might even be dating asks if he can get you another drink and you say, "Sure. But, I'll come with you. You know--help carry them." "Ugh...Yea. OK." Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Marry me. Juuuust kidding. But I DEFINITELY want a copy of your compilation. EXCELLENT CHOICES! My fav-or-ites. Especially, "Youg MC--Bust A Move" She's dressed in yellow. She says "Hello. Come sit next to me you fine fellow." LOVE it! -
Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. This is the first I've heard (or read). My best goes to Peanut & her mamma.

Paper & living. Yes. And yes, the living came when I jumped on the Terry Schaivo bandwagon. (Pull my plug, please.

Rohypnol, aka "roofies" is definitely not an urban legend. My first reaction to your question was my phrase of everyday, "Are you fucking kidding me?" but then I realized roofies is likely a generational thing. But it's been around for quite some time. In my high school it was quite common for kids to take--not to knock themselves out, but to enhance the effects of alcohol, etc. I've never had one; never wanted to; never allowed a drink to be poured for me I didn't witness. In college, it was better known as a date-rape drug; and was used all too frequently. Every day girls ended up at Shands near UF (where I went) due to the use of this drug. When I say "every day" I'm not exaggerating. Seriously, seriously, a problem drug amongst the high-school/college crowd. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I wasn't necessarily speaking about identity theft; more about giving more info away than one might have intended. But since you brought it up, certainly that info posted alone shouldn't be harmfull, but add that to the plethora of other tidbits people reveal about themselves and it definitely can make the process a lot easier to the thief. Of course, I'm biased. I have so much protection, take so many precautions and am still always conscious of what I throw away, what I say/to whom I say it to, etc. I'm not a very trusting person, and that trait has always served me well.

Oddly enough, we have friends from all different income ranges. I agree that it doesn't/shouldn't matter what one makes, but I DO think it matters how they manage/what they do with however much or little they do make.
-
It's strange to me people will freely post in a public forum what investment accounts they have and contribute to, money they make, etc. I was raised that such information is personal and should be kept "in the family". It's nearly impossible to give away such information w/out revealing other things about yourself. For example, you contribute to a Roth. Thus, I know if you are single you make less than X amount/year or married less than Y, as Roths have income limitations. That info doesn't matter much to me, but provides a good example of how one might be revealing more than intended. I think it's a great idea you're encouraging others to save. I just wouldn't do so by revealing too much detail about what you particularly are doing on a public forum. Just my two cents.

NWFlyer: Samurai136: Yes, I'm a member of that club. Billy always packs for me. I'll gladly pay someone if he can't---but he'd rather have his packed by a packer and pack mine if we are in a time crunch to make the load. I'll pay for his, of course, but then it doesn't really matter being that we've been togehter more than 6 years and have joint everything. I love that he does, though. I've always had awesome openings when he packs for me. And trust me--he gets thanked in full. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Studio 60 ... so what did you think of the Pilot?

Something's still missing. I can't put my finger on it. But, I did really enjoy last night's episode (10/23) that I watched this morning over breakfast. In fact, I loved it; mostly b/c it was a flashback to many-a-media history class I took in college. And I LOVED Amanda Peet in this one, fin-al-ly. So that makes two in a row I enjoyed watching. -
Our commission tiers were the same. But, her base salary was 1/3 more than mine b/c of her location. It was really interesting, actually. I was trying to keep my previous response short, but the differences in our lifestyles were really hilarious to us both. Thank goodness she's back in Florida now. Bygones. I haven't seen it. There's a lot of movies I wanted to see but never did b/c I just can't get motivated to sit down and watch them. I like scary/suspense thrillers or super ridiculously funny movies, or Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks films. We don't watch a lot of movies, actually. When I'm feeling blue, I like to watch Finding Nemo.
