  1. Counting down until this gets moved to SC. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  2. Stacy London of TLC's "What Not to Wear" commented on several new shows' fashion. I can't believe I didn't pinpoint it myself. Her issue with Amanda Peet on Studio 60 was her wardrobe fit that of a model/actress type and NOT of a major head of a television network or series or whatever (I forget what exactly she is). "It's called a suit", London said. "Look into it." I loved it! So true. I think that might just be the problem with her on the show. I've been watching it Tuesday mornings during breakfast. Ehh....It's OK. But the 10/9 episode was better, I thought.
  3. I delete about 75-100 junk e-mails a day on this address. Some are through no doing of my own; others are b/c if I have to use an e-mail address to sign up for something (like Kodak Easy Share most recently) I use this one rather than my personal e-mail address. When you sign up for things, look for little boxes at the bottom that are automatically checked to "receive e-mail updates & offers from affiliates" and uncheck them. When you receive junkmail, scroll to the bottom (if you've opened it) and there should be an "unsubscribe" link. I just do a mass delete every day which takes about 30 seconds. I don't like to open junk mail.
  4. I would never do that. It was a joke. Goodnplentygirl got it. Get with the program. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  5. It happens. And I'm here for you. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

  7. Apparently whining about whiners is not allowed. I'm done here.

  9. I mean...you can only try to help people so much before you wash your hands. And my hands are squeaky clean... And I still don't have an address. It's not even as if I can investigate easily. I don't have so much as a name of the place. Just the name of the room Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  10. I would happily give a clue away today. In fact I would pay them to take a clue; and still they refuse. "I don't want to get a f'n clue!" they say. "I'm happy being a flipping idiot!" they add. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

  12. Every blue moon I get in a mood; an mood. You know; where everything flippin annoys you? Case 1 today: I asked for an address of a place I need to be 5 hours away from me. I've asked for this address before. And yet again I get directions; directions from 3 areas in which I DO NOT LIVE! For goodness sake! Pat, I'd like to buy a clue for $500, please. Case 2: The person who wants me to feel sorry for them. I do tend to have a big heart. But NOT TODAY! Get over yourself, dude. You're NOT the only one. EVERYONE'S having that issue recently. And you NEED to buy a fricken clue. I hear they're going for $500. Case 3: Whining. Whine. Wa-whine. Wa-whine. Whine. Whine. WHYine??? And that concludes my rant.
  13. Most definitely! This is how I feel regarding one's own contribution. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  14. There are humane ways to control sea lion/seal populations. I briefly touched on that earlier in this thread (but b/c it's off the original topic of free-range I did not dive into the full solution). Your post, however, is far too discombobulated for further response. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  15. Wooo-hooo! We agree on something (sort of)! Of course, my concern regarding farmed-salmon is not the taste...but well..I'm just so excited we agree I'll let that little detail slide. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  16. Oh my gosh...what timing! There was a news anchor Billy and I saw the other morning and his name was "Harry Balser". Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  17. My last response to you as it seems you have not read any of my previous responses anyways. If you had, you'd know that my position on switching to a certified humane system of farming would both care about humans as well as animals (I've never put one before the other, thus you've made yet another assumption about me), and would not be a "low availability/high price" scenario. I don't care much for extremes or extremists. I've also already touched on that and why I used PETA as a link (only one link to PETA among many other sources to illustrate my points in this thread and many previous threads regarding animal welfare). I will say this to your "Boo!": I have a theory (which seems to be supported by psychological research & study) regarding persons who enjoy abusing animals and/or watching animals suffer. And that scares me. It's important to add: Though such persons might scare me, I still choose not to judge b/c my opinion is and always has been in general: Unless one has walked a lifetime in another's shoes & hat, one can not fully understand where the other is coming from. 18. Speaking of eating organically and antibiotics... Freeflybella, when was the last time you actually needed antibiotics? For me I think it was high school. I haven't had so much as the common cold in 4 years, either. While, I wouldn't dare say I'm 100% organic, I do opt for the organic choice more often than not. Purchasing foods & household products/items most accordingly to my animal welfare conscience is my main area of focus. Still, I'd be interested, now, to read research on the correlation of those who eat organically and how often they get sick vs. those who do not. My theory is one would find the person putting less chemicals into their body get sick far less. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  19. Nice reply on "organic"!

Yes! I noticed that. And also Juliet seemed a little wigged out. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. (teasing) That is what I thought was silly.
  22. Me neither. I am capable of thinking of the livelihood of animals, too; and farmers.
  23. Absolutely; if I have a virus I will take antibiotics. I believe in science. Scientific study & research is also how we've learned about animals, their natural behaviors, intelligence, ability to feel pain, emotion, etc. Certainly I have no opposition to medications for animal health. What you're assuming is what is in some of their food is for their health, rather than for better taste or worse (actually harming them). Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
