When I was young, I stayed at the YMCA daycare / camp during the summer. We shot BB guns one day per week. We shot bows one day. There was a rotation of activities and a weekly schedule. I don't recall any problems. But then, that's in the south during the 70's. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Thanks for the clarification on the Olympic issue. I still think anyone competing with a weapon should be competent to keep from injuring someone. It is a weapon. If it can't injur anyone, it is a toy. Just as a FYI thing: George S. Patton, Jr. competed in the Olympics in Modern Pentathlon. As I recall, they gave him a Bronze after the fact. During the contest, they ruled it was impossible that he had put two bullets through one hole. They declared that he must have missed the target entirely. That decision was later reversed. I shot precision rifle for years and again with my daughter. I lament the demise of the pellet gun in this sport. I don't think the laser will be the same. I also think the reasons cited are silly. Safety? Has any olympic shooter ever injured themselves or another because they were that incompetent with their weapon? Come on. Sounds like an anti-gun thing to me. They have driver's education in HS. Maybe firearms education would be good. My kids owned their own guns from an early age so they would leave mine alone. My daughter shot on a rifle team for three years. I'm a big proponent of an armed citizen, but I'm also a big proponent of responsibility going with rights and privileges. By the way...in most states in the US, you have to have that state's ID, money and a clean record to buy a firearm. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. I've been married a long time (quite happily, thanks) so I just gotta ask, does that kind of stuff ever, ever work? I sure wouldn't do that if I was trying to get a date. Whats worse is that she was at the table playing poker that the dude was dealing for, and she knew he'd bonked her hot mama. You can't make shit like that up. I have to heartily disagree. Yeshua was very clear that he did not come to change one little tittle or tot of the Torah. The only thing that changed was the nature of the sacrifice necessary for attonement. He did refute many of the man-made fencing requirements of the religious leaders of the day. Assault weapons fall under the term 'arms' the keping a bearing of which shall not be infringed acording to the Second Amendment of the US Constitution. If you read the Federalist Papers and much else written by our founding fathers, you will find the reasoning is clear. They just had to fight a tyranical government to start over. They used arms. They wanted future generations to have tha same ability. I've never understood why so many people are unable to grasp that simple truth. The founding fathers had no more faith in a republican form of government than in the monarchy. Franklin said the only thing worse than democracy was all the forms of government we had tried before. Some judges will look outside state or federal law and even the US Constitution to get their way on an issue. We have judges who want to cite international law as persuasive or even controlling on issues within the US. This law was clearly intended to preempt that kind of behavior. BUT on the other hand I guess you are good with supporting the hundreds of thousands that cost us billions of dollars to house them in prisons for low level drug users who were never violent offenders before they were sent to prison to learn how to be violent thugs. That was a completely illogical leap of inference. If I am OK with legalizing drugs, why would I want to pay to house drug offenders? And, having defended them in court, I can tell you that most jurisdictions have extensive programs and work very hard to keep from locking up users. I have had the DA offer probation to a six time felon with no negotiation at all. On possession charges, I have never seen anyone get locked up. Now, if the drugs are combined with firearms, burglary, etc.; sure. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..
