Not impressed... xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

If I remember correctly, the french were unable to jump from their intended exit point due to the granite shale. An e-mail from another jumper detailing this arrived the day after they left. There isn't any footage of India/Pakistan in Stoopid, but I was hoping to be able to put some in the feature length I'm working on. edited to add: send me a Pm Kris xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Umm bullsh*t. You may wish to check your facts there Tom. Furthermore, they have no permission to use Stoopid BASE and have been repeatedly told so. (Note this is being written before it goes to air.) xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Hello "TAILPLANE"!! We were talking about you this week- but the footage we have of your infamous jump doesn't seem to want to play??!!! Might be coming to Maryland later this year for work, will let you know.... xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Hmmm PhD thesis on "The effects of Non-Ionising Radiation (NIR) on BASE jumpers" Now there's an idea!! The funny thing is that they'd probably let me do it if I changed 'BASE' jumpers to recreation and sportspeople!!! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Logic ONE A crash landing is still classed as a landing. By that logic, Denis (coincidently Russian) has already successfully 'landed' a wingsuit...the ambos refused to drive him to hospital, but he nevertheless survived to jump another day. (And to organise Moscow BASE) Logic TWO Dwain's logic was that if you couldn't walk away from it, it doesn't count. By that logic, it hasn't been succesfully done. The real question isn't whether you can survive hitting the earth wearing a wingsuit, but rather, what do we class as successfully landing a wingsuit? xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

No probs. Will repost here in a few weeks asking for addresses (and postage money!) when I finish up the new segment on aerials. Like I said, if you're going to watch it, you might as well have a decent quality copy! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Hey guys, at request I'm putting together a little clip of BASE aerials. So if you're prepared to wait a few weeks I'll add it on to the dvd and then send it on to y'all. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Have you considered coming to dive training at Homebush? xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I asked Master Wingate and in summary, the spring was plugged as "it giveth and it taketh away." ie it could feed the pond as easily as it may drain it. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I've got a wad of footage I filmed at the last meet in Malaysia. Some good stuff, some ordinary stuff and some downright scary stuff.... If you get a hold of Slim's tribute video, there's some aerials on it. To see someone 6ft+ do a perfect pike is really something!!! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Jimmy and I train in platform and springboard diving at the Sydney Olympic Pools (at least) twice a week, year round. The body awareness and confidence it gives you is priceless and the coaches now know what we want to train for/learn. They're really good about new BASE jumpers turning up and joining the class. On a quiet night, a quarter of the class might be jumpers. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Am doing BG course too!! Will have a copy waiting for you... xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I had dinner with 3 numbered, current, crew last night. (say that ten times really fast...) xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I'll try and put a copy on skydivingmovies when i get back from skysister. If you're going to watch it, you might as well have a decent quality copy! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I was really worried that Whuffos wouldn't get the jokes, but after playing it to my 15 year old brother and his mates, I realised even whuffos know you don't normally pack your mates' rig in a telephone booth. And as cesslon said, jumpers got the added bemusement of Rob's bike-canopy 'malfunction' and jimmy doing a 3-ring cutaway rope swing which then became a BASE jump. If you'll cover the cost of a blank DVD and mail, I'll happily burn a copy of it and our film from last year aswell. We're currently working on a feature length flick, with footage from South Africa, India, Australia and the usual suspects such as Russia, Malaysia, France, Norway, USA etc I'm really hoping it'll be something special. I'll put a teaser onto Skydivingmovies if i ever find the time (no internet at home) xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

I'm no BASE-god, but you can't share a house with a BASE jumper like Aussie Jimmy and not do a few jumps! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

"Slim: A BASE Life" was put together by Fast Al. It features a swag of well known jumpers and gives an awesome overview of the guy we all loved. For those arguing about Slim hitting the wall, it shows Slim's first incident with the wall. Very cool. The other one you are referring to is "Stoopid BASE: A mock-umentry." I hope you like it, as I made it. Its got Dan W's frap in in France, Aussie Jimmy's rope swing-BASE, waterfalls and also has Rob's famous Bike-canopy entanglement.... Let me know what you think. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Jimmy Freeman is now coming to play also... xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

None of mine have either!

That would make great footage!! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

No, being a big fish in a little pond probably isn't going to get you laid....but if you're a big fish in the ocean, you just might stand a chance! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

OMG, this is hilarious! I wish someone would pass this on to the guys who think being a big fish in a little pond is going to get them laid!! xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

Hello aussies and curious lurkers.... For those of you who've been living under a rock, Skysisters starts this week and more to the point, Jari (Bird-Man) will be there from next week. (If you want details about the boogie go to http://www.ramblers.com.au/whatson/sisters.aspx) Over 100 women have registered for the boogie, but men are of course welcome to come and with loads of women and free alcohol, what's not to like?!?!! From the local side of things, Mossy, Rocket Rod, Jiggs, Elaine, Trent and myself are definitely coming and quite a few more have said they’ll be there at some point. Y'anyways, shoot me an e-m/ PM if you'd like to come play! Note: for those of you who can’t make skysisters, we'll also be running wingsuit weekends at Picton over the coming weekends. xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."

This was Jimmy's take on it, him having been the only person (still alive) that was actually there- "he should've gone for risers." xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both."
