Forget about ParaGear. for the purposes of the statement(s) below PG does not exist. What would you consider good/great customer service considering that your order from company X was shipped/delivered on-time and in the condition and quantity as ordered. You never needed to call them after the initial order placement. In other words : you ordered 7 widgets on Monday for residential delivery by Wednesday 5PM and you got the said 7 widgets on Wednesday before 5PM, all packed well and with proper invoice and in the condition as described. What do you consider such transaction ? Do you think it could have been handled better, and if so, how ?

You kind of evaded my true question. If you could please answer the questions that I re-phrase for you : What would you consider good/great customer service considering that your order was shipped/delivered on-time and in the condition and quantity as ordered. . oh one more thing dearest Nova. I don't assume there was no cost to you for the transaction. But I am yet to hear people bitch violently about having to go back to the store to return something - it's commonly expected that if you want to get your money back, the store manager is not going to come to your house and pickup the item - going to the UPS store or other shipping point is the equivalent when you are dealing with mail order. Of course what the hell do I know, it's not like I don't have a lifetime of mail order and customer service behind me.
-
Dear Nova, if you drop the act, you will realize that it's YOU and not me who started the thread hijack. anyways, to answer your question "Since when did a person or company doing their job as it ought to be done constitute "great"?" Since the time when *most* people consider a hassle-free transaction to be the expected level. Now that I answered yours, answer mine. Nova, what do YOU consider "great customer service" ?
-
Since when does a company that corrected their mistake in a timely manner at no cost to you get classified as having "poor customer service" ?
-
whats there to misunderstand ? you titled your thread "Para-Gear: Poor Customer Service" whereas all you are trying to say is "Para-Gear: Did not provide exceptional Porsche dealership-like Customer Service"

Pulling slider down with big steering lines
likestojump replied to linebckr83's topic in Gear and Rigging
I had the same problem on a canopy with darcron steering lines. I ended up taking the knot out of the the toggle, and just fingretrapping and bartacking. that helped somewhat, but at the end going for vectran lower steering is what did it for me. -
In the context of your posts on topic it seems that you are expecting a lot more than what was given to you. Granted, they fucked up, it does not seem that they made you jump through the hoops in order to remedy the problem, nor did they make you absorb any extra costs. Why do people feel that there needs to be a gallon of sugar on top of a a proper problem remedy ? When you as a customer buy the wrong thing and have to send it back to the vendor, do you write a long apology letter and include a $5 bill as a sign of remorse ?

Because Sunrise did not pay for the licensing to Bill Booth ?
-
are you 5ft and 6.5 inches, or did you mean something different ? If so, 15.5" to 16" sounds like a good GUESS - but for a proper answer, I would recommend talking to the manufacturer. also keep in mind having a Unisyn as opposed to a non-ringed harness will make a difference. good luck

I too have encountered such situation. I believe it to be unethical. If you are asking xxx for the rig - then the first one to agree to that should get it. Starting a bidding on an item which had been listed with a fixed price is silly.

Pilot Chute Size and Bridle for Wing Suit Skydiving
likestojump replied to bushtuckerman's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Does anybody have a preference of ZP or F111 Pilot Chutes ? Also, if you are using a specifically ordered PC size, could you post that, along with your canopy size ? I use a Spectre120, and have been playing with 24/28/32 ZP and F111 PCs. Still cannot decide what I think works best. tnx -
I found the Lenovo support forum fairly ineffective when asked them about the closing sequence on a Vector container, but amazingly helpful about Lenovo products. Perhaps try them ? here's the thread that Googling "lenovo windows7 intermittent beeping" gave me : http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T61-and-prior-T-series-ThinkPad/T61-Beeping/m-p/140303;jsessionid=888EAAA2DCF82210917F86C7D0372494

I am not sure at what point anything with that rig is "not an error", but no, as the rsl pigtail pulls inline between the 2guiderings, it's unlikely to be effected by being on the right or left riser. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I'll let RIGGER comment on that, as he has just a bit more experience in those things
-
yop, you are risking the pin being locked off by the guide ring. here are pics of a Javelin, look how much higher up the rings sit. also, I have not seen such RSL setup on a Vector, I always thought Vector RSL = Collins = marine eye on the ripcord, and pin on the RSL pigtail ?

Skyhook: 1 turn of thread (& a photo of 4 turns)
likestojump replied to pchapman's topic in Gear and Rigging
In the event of main container lock, it could have been real ugly, as the part of the bridle below the skyhook (between the hook and the freebag) would have been locked off (the red RSL lanayrd would be holding on the hook via the four wraps of sealthread) and it would take for the reserve PC to generate enough drag to break the sealthread before the freebag would be lifted from the container. It would have *most likely* worked out, but I don't want to be the guy finding this out the hard way. -
yes, I have been to France, last year. And to many other countries, Why ?
-
huh ? Wouldn't it be €300 for $511.02 ? People seem to be really hung about about a single unit of currency of one country needing to be worth a single unit of currency of another country, without regard for the said units buying power.

3 lockign stows (yes i have used search!)
likestojump replied to jf951's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It would be more useful to concentrate on making the packjob neater, than "splitting the lines". After all, the bag gets pulled off the canopy, and only afterward the canopy starts inflating, so "splitting the lines" does NOTHING short of leaving a possibility of a whole riser side lineover if you are super good at fucking shit up :) I am a fan of not just doing things, but of figuring out WHY it's being done, and trying to think of possible outcomes. Just because something works, and has been working for a long time "for someone" does not mean it's the right or the best or the only way to do it. It doesn't mean it's wrong either... -
Skyhook: 1 turn of thread (& a photo of 4 turns)
likestojump replied to pchapman's topic in Gear and Rigging
it's sad, and someone has obviously not read the manual. When I did my first Skyhook2, I was glad that I no longer needed to pierce the bridle - seemed to make more sense. I believe the mistake happened because the packer (dare I not refer to the person as a rigger ?) did not think of the purpose of the sealthread. IF it was meant to lock the RSL pigtail on the hook, there would probably be a spring gate on the end of the hook, and it would be called a skycarabiner instead :) -
Do riggers charge extra for packing Skyhook/staging loop
likestojump replied to likestojump's topic in Gear and Rigging
Lots of people charge $10-$20 extra for packing Racer (and some for Reflex). Does anyone charge extra for Skyhook (and staging loop) equipped rigs ? -
Speedbag retrofit to a non-Racer container
likestojump replied to likestojump's topic in Gear and Rigging
or taking a step back to the eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarly days of square reserves and freebags. Too bad this was last repacked in 2009. Shame on whoever did this. My guess is that this was someone's redneck solution to a broken safety stow. -

If in doubt – ask random internet people your local rigger and/or experienced packer(s) -
Not an answer, but a suggestion. I did real well doing H-mods on Heatwaves/Hornets/Cobalts - see if that's something you may want to have done either.

I have two cats, and if faced with a similar situation I would probably opt for the surgery. I only say probably because the situation is hypothetical and I cannot be 100% sure what I would do. I know I would get a second and possibly third opinion from a respectable vet who is known for doing more than shoving a thermometer up the animals rear on annual basis (in other words someone who has done enough diagnosis and surgeries to know what they are talking about). And my cats are sure as hell not just "$35 mutts" to me. I call the attacehd picture "yinyang"
