sorry John, that's a little on the fucked up side. DUE DILIGENCE is the key to any successful transaction... Suit yourself. There's enough internet fraud going on, that for a transaction of any sizable amount of money, I'm going to be sure to get my funds, before I lose my product. That's my policy. If my buyers don't like that, they're free to go shop somewhere else. Your mileage may vary. absolutely, freedom of choice as the seller. Just be sure to disclose the fact that your policy is to hold on to the product until their funds have cleared into your bank account. I am sure that'll be an extra nice selling point to the potential buyers. I know for a fact, that a lot of my customers would have been extremely upset, and many would not have bought from me if I exercised such business behavior.

Demos are for TWO WEEKENDS, not a day. Icarus (Para-Concepts at SDC) does the same. http://para-concepts.com/Store/product_info.php?cPath=30_33&products_id=69

I remember Parachutist did a feature on him years ago - anyone remember which issue ? Sadly, I never met him.

Yes, I have Sprint PCS and currently use their AIRAVE service. Unfortunately it only works for that network :( http://www.nextel.com/en/services/airave/index.shtml prior to that I used a product by http://www.wi-ex.com/index.aspx and it worked well too, but had a shorter coverage area. Granted that was 2 years ago, so the newer products may (and I hope are ) be better. good luck !

sorry John, that's a little on the fucked up side. DUE DILIGENCE is the key to any successful transaction - whether on the buying or on the selling end. Many countries outside US/Canada/UK do not have the option to have a CONFIRMED address with paypal. either way, what I am saying is that you should double check all the info. If you decide to keep the product 2-4 from shipping AFTER the instant paypal payment has been received, you will upset a majority of paypal buyers. Furhermore, and to the point, even if you withdraw the funds, and then for some reason your account gets debited - it is put into negative and the next payment you receive will be applied to the negative balance with the remainder showing up in the account. Essentially you loose the ability to use paypal from that point on. If you don't pay for over x amount of days and the negative balance is over x amount of dollars (I don't know the exact numbers, so I use x) you will be put into collections. so - DUE DILIGENCE will go much further than doing things that will upset most of the buyers. TRUST ME, I do this EVERY DAY !

what the poster above me said, plus you get docked extra 1% for having a "cross-border" transaction. in other words - 3.9% + 30c per transaction . complete international schedule : http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-xborder-fees-outside

Lodi Facing Million Dollar Lawsuit

hey Jimmy, your opinion stinks of bias. -
you shouldn't have to PAY the German VAT to begin with, as the item is being shipped to a non-EU country. If you are considering using a carrier to ship, call http://www.freightquote.com/ and talk to their customs people, they are extremely knowledgeable.

fine. I have owned HP 4L, 5L, 5P, 6P - all good. currently have a HP 2200DN (w/ duplex and network options) and just got rid of 4050DN HP/Lexmark/Xerox - all good brands (as well as some others I am forgetting to mention). HP seems to have the most product out there, so easier to get on secondary market (aka craigslist/ebay).

http://www.itintl.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-import.html in general, if you are having it shipped in for personal use, and it's not an overly expensive item, you will only get charged for clearing customs (UPS/FedEx/DHL), and won't be charged if using the Post Office. - at least hat has been my experience, and I get packages from overseas every few weeks. I had a $500USD declared item came from Austria a few weeks ago - no issues. a $2000 item from Russia this week - no issues. Lots of items from UK/Oz with no issues. results may vary

I print a lot. and printed even more when I was in college. Ink printers are extemely expensive. Why not get a laser printer ? They are much better quality, faster, and much higher toner capacity. They are very inexpensive. Unless you print a lot of color, a Laser printer is a much better choice.

He may be old and grumpy - Sabre has been out since 89, Pilot has much shorter market history. he can be a PD snob. bottom line - you obviously have read some of the threads here where people praise the Pilot - so obviously it has market share and many people like it. Demo both, and see what you like. I am sure you will like 'em both - it's just a matter of which one you like more :) good luck !

a velo and a spectre and a PD 9 cell -
my manuals dated 1997 and 1998 both show the V fold on page 35 in Step 21 (after putting the top flap over the catapult PC.

hi Steve. first off whoever made the comment about throwing away the bodkins - I disagree. Once the freebag is in, I put the bodkin in from the backpad, and it's great to thread all the flap grommets on - keeps everything nice and inline before you start dicking with the PC. Molar ears - myself (and I suspect many others) have had the same problem when I just started packing. Most freebags have slight differences in how much bulk distribution they will take in order to look/feel nice. For ears specifically it's usually a matter of not concentrating so much on the first two folds, but actually leaving enough AFTER the first two to have long ears that you can fold under themselves and thus keep bulky, and keep the packjobs shaped to fit the freebag well. What worked for me was pretty much trying each freebag size/canopy size combination a few different times until I figured out where to make the folds to have the best fitting packjob. in other words it's all about bulk distribution. hope this helps and good luck !

what exactly are you stuffing under the poptop ? 5-22lbs last time I read the manual/FAR :)

Looks sweet. Are you gonna make this one your primary to save the wear on the Mirage ?
-
as nice as the thread title is, the posts to picture ratio SUCKS.
-
the most important thing is to have the properly made closing loop. after that it's best to have whoever is supervising your packjobs to show you, it's quite common sense. you are having someone supervise, right ? Otherwise you are very likely learning to the wrong way, and building muscle memory of doing wrong things the wrong way :(

here's the line trim chart http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/linetrims/LS_120-170LT.pdf

too bad on most of todays risers, specifically the ones with hard inserts it's impossible to know how much cable is actually "in", unless you see the very tip of it sticking out. I wouldn't want to chance it, but I also never took my time peeling/pulling the cutaway handle - I just yanked that fucker like my life depended on it.

What kind of LINE SET you indicate to a PD SPECTRE 170 ????
likestojump replied to skydivewings's topic in Gear and Rigging
Whichever one you prefer. the Standard is the 825 microline, but if you like softer openings the Dacron will be nice. If you would like to need another lineset pretty soon, the 550 microline is good for that :) -
the solution to that is to make the toggle attachment loop just big enough to fit the toggle through, this way you can hide the knot in the grommet. voila, no problem :)
