Stupidity in language -- contradictory meanings in one word

Why thank you; who knew you could be such a sweetie?! I saw this listing on that link: "American urban slang, chiefly in the 1970s and 1980s, reassigned bad to mean "good". This is believed to have been introduced by African Americans based on a similar feature in a west African language." Um, are we really believing that urban American blacks somehow delved deep into a language none of them speak, from a country none of them have been to, to come up with the etymological reason why they use "bad" to mean "good"? OK. Right. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire -

These points are excellent. I hope you are not seriously expecting honest-to-goodness rebuttals to them. Liberals do not debate from a point of strength when you bring up rational questions and challenges to the illogic of their positions. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

I am gonna laugh my fuckin' ass off again, too. It's been THREE FUCKING YEARS, people! If they haven't gotten their shit together down there in THREE FUCKING YEARS, then yeah, they deserve to get their asses blown off the map all over again. ESPECIALLY the ones who were all, "Duhh, I'm too stupid to get the fuck out" the first time! If they sit there on their asses again?!... Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Hey! Them's fighting words. Baseball has perfected the art of taking 2 minutes of action and packing it in to a 3 hour game. It's like soccer without the riots And none of the TIES! Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

"Lips that touch liquor shall not touch ours" Two words, then: "Beer funnel" (That's assuming you'd want to be kissing those shriveled, crotchety skanks, though. A big "if" there.) Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

I've never seen these shows you mention, but for me, there's no end to the entertainment value of watching idiot criminals get their shit owned by the po-po. "All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of LAW!" Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

so you knit too ...Actually, yeah, I do. Learned in part to commune spiritually with my late mom. But I know only basic stuff. I can make a scarf (and have) and I can use a spool knitter to make a hat (and have). Oh, and I knitted a little pocket sleeve for my Zippo handwarmer. It's badass. (see pic) I can also make a nifty wallet out of a 11x15 Tyvek envelope! (pic too!) Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

That's not nearly enough guns, you know. Hey, when did people start to have to pay the same respect to "God Bless America" that they are expected to pay to the national anthem? Well, it's baseball: who said anyone connected with it was smart? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Well, technically, the NY Yankees management is not the government. I think it's a stupid thing, to enforce such a rule, especially in the manner in which it is alleged. Let's remember, folks, at this point, both sides are making ALLEGATIONS. Who has proof? Was there video of the cops manhandling the dork-- I mean, fan? Is there truth to him "reeking of alcohol"? If there was, why didn't they actually arrest him for public intoxication if it was that bad? (As opposed to what, ejecting him and sending him off into the Harlem night, still drunk and "reeking of alcohol"?) Someone better step up with some fuggan proof of which side is telling the truth. Right now, it's pretty ridiculous, since each side tells a story that is utterly opposite that of the other side. I HATE it when that goes on, because it causes me to know that ONE side it TOTALLY FUGGAN LYING!! Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

What we don't understand is why and how a person grows so incredibly insane, and can't manage to make a few hundred million dollars bring some happiness without having to have "doctors" butcher your face like a Greek chef going at a sheep's head. No jokes about or references to pedophilia. None. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Can you confirm that that is true? I hadn't heard from him any word either way. I thought that what he denies is having his skin treated to make him look white. I don't know that he's denied having them fuck up his nose (hard to even call it that) the way they have... That would be hard to believe. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Well, would the hands helping to man the lifeboats (funny, they "MAN" the lifeboats with women and children first...) stand there checking to see if the women boarding have kids, whether present or at home waiting? Doesn't your answer discount the fact that there are still plenty of father-only households as well? One would think from your response that women can be single parents, but men cannot be. Actually, I've never heard of "endorsement" being used negatively as you state. I thought that an "endorsement on your license" meant something like an additional rating, like the "motorcycle endorsement" that you can get here in Florida after taking training and an exam. Oh, I never liked the name of the Cessna "Citation" because the first thing I heard of to use that term was a traffic ticket given to penalize you for an infraction. But then, you can get a positive "Citation for Bravery" if you do something heroic. Face it, our language should have been made to be a lot more like MATH. The biggest IRONY I can think of about "universal (government-run) health care" is that as much as the left, which champions it, HATES the way the government is run and doesn't trust it with anything, not even investigating terrorist threats to our very lives... this faction of the political spectrum CHEERS the idea of the government running a system entrusted with the maintenance of our very lives. We hold that our medical information is of the utmost private nature. Then we see government computers getting LOST with all kinds of sensitive information -- who can trust them not to fuck up in a MONUMENTAL WAY with the most sensitive data on citizens imaginable? All because a stumblefuck government is put in charge when it hasn't been proved to be able to manage a motherfucking thing right in all these many years. I would ask the cheerleaders of government-run health care, Why do you suddenly trust government on THIS? Here's an even better question: If the next president and Congress are Republican, BUT they bring us a viable universal government-run health care plan and implement it, will you be so trusting? Or is it only Democrats who could ever do it right? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
