  1. And everyone of them chose to be there. As a matter of fact a good amount of them joined since 9/11, and even within the last several years. Just so these ignorant people have the right to spew there hate speech. Hey look! It's Reason for the Iraq War #218! Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  2. What would you do in that situation? I think the cop did the right thing, given the situation he was in. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  3. If her family wanted to use her funeral to make one last statement in favor of her political party, who are you or I to judge them? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  4. True...unless of course it was jet powered. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  5. Care to make a wager on that? I've done 19 in a day, twice this year. Out of a 182? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  6. Given that she's had five kids, you'd probably have to first find your way past whatever undergarment keeps her guts from falling out. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  7. An electric train is traveling westward at 75 mph over level ground. A prevailing north wind (FROM the north) is blowing at ground level at 25 miles per hours, it's not gusty at all. Winds increase 5 mph for every 500 feet of altitude gained. Assuming Smoke is relatively massless...assuming the boundary layer is a linear dropoff to the surroundings within one foot of the train surface.... What direction and speed is the stack's smoke moving 3 seconds after exiting? I hope that simplifies things a bit. Do not try to bend the spoon; that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  8. If you total the 2004 Presidential votes in those five states, you'll find that Kerry got 1.6% more popular votes than Bush. However, because of the electoral voting system, Kerry got 27% more electoral votes from them. A popular vote would have restricted his advantage to 1.6%, so the electoral system amplified the voice of those five states rather than diminishing it. 9. On a population per popular vote basis, how much influence will a single Californian have over a Wyoming resident (vs that same Wyoming resident have over the Californian). Can you rephrase the question? I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  10. On a population per electoral vote basis, a resident of Wyoming currently has four times more influence than a resident of California. I think every person's vote should have an equal influence on the outcome of an election. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  11. How are you defining "experience"? Why should time on the city council of Wasilla count as a qualifcation for President of the US, but not time as a civil rights attorney or constitutional law professor? Do you think experience is the only relevant factor, or should education also be considered? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  12. Mine came from an email a guy wrote me who was trying to explain why I should let him jump his wingsuit at our DZ, despite his only having 40ish skydives, spread out over 3 years. The entire quote was "I am a professional extreme athlete. Serious injury and death are part of the job description." For some reason, the voice I hear in my head when reading that is Keanu Reeve's voice, saying "I am an FBI agent". (The Mountain Dew thing was my reply.) 13. My guess is Utah...it looks like Great Salt Lake. In any case, congrats Millertime24! Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  14. Yep...I love all the comments about Alaska from folks who haven't spent any time there. To be fair though, Wasilla is a nice little town. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  15. I'd say TomAiello qualifies as at least "semi-conservative." Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  16. Neverminding the fact that running Wasilla pads a resume just slightly more than being on a high school yearbook committee, how do you add up 6 years as mayor and less than 2 years as governor to make them total 13 years? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  17. If you look at things like conservation, environmental protection, and budget deficit management, the DNC trumps the GOP by a wide margin in the forward-looking department. It appears to me that the GOP isn't concerned in the least about your children and grandchildren's future. They're all about exploiting that future in exchange for any and every convenience they can enjoy in the present day. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  18. There seems to be a logical disagreement between those two sentences. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  19. You're correct that really good instructors do that. What you're missing is that so do really bad instructors. The desire to work full-time in this sport has nothing to do with how good someone is. Also, while you nailed the currency issue, you also forgot the time-managment/economic factor. The part-timer simply funding his fun jumps or instructing because it's what he likes to do is more likely to spend whatever time is necessary with a student than the full-timer needing to get his next 3 jumps in so he can make his credit card payment on time. Overall, I think most of the differences come out in the wash and good (and bad) instructors can be found in a wide variety of places. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  20. Congrats to both of you! And be sure to double up on the contraceptives...that Farm water is reportedly potent stuff! Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  21. Like everyone else, Mike, I don't have the right words. All I can offer is my sincerest condolences, my kindest thoughts, and a hug if our paths ever cross. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  22. The experience thing is now pretty much a wash between the two tickets. How about education (the other major factor when being considered for a job)? On one hand we have two people with graduate degrees in law (one with honors from Harvard) and experience teaching constitutional law. On the other hand we have two people with undergraduate degrees. One majored in flying, barely passed, and has more than enough crashes to substantiate his ranking at the very bottom of his class. The other majored in journalism. Graduate degrees w/ constitutional law. Undergraduate degrees w/ flying & journalism. I know which I think is more suitable for the White House. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" 24. Thats all they can come up with? Lazy ass reporters. Nothing about her record? Her views? Her family? I just read her son enlisted in the U.S. Army on 9-11-2007. But CNN comes up with she knows how to eat a mooseburger, shoot a gun, and drive a snowmobile. (If thats what they reported, I didnt see it) That's because there's nothing to say about her . . . she is a cipher, nothing, nobody. Wow. I can't hardly believe this. Actually, I think she's a good pick-up for McCain. She's violently anti-choice, which appeases the Christian right, she's pro-drilling, which appeases the short-sighted GOPers who don't give a fuck about the economic and environmental legacy we leave our kids, she's a woman...which will let McCain keep some of his Hillarybillies and hamper Biden's ability to play attack dog. McCain makes gains on several fronts, and all he loses is his ability to denigrate Obama's experience...presumably he knows the investigation she's currently under will turn out fine. 25. (If thats what they reported, I didnt see it) They are reporting the first piece of dirt, to quote "Palin's term has not been without controversy. A legislative investigation is looking into allegations that Palin fired Alaska's public safety commissioner because he refused to fire the governor's former brother-in-law, a state trooper." Here's a WSJ article on the subject Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
