  1. You must not have read the page I linked. Here, I'll post the contents. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  2. I wouldn't be too grateful...what he posted was a just a bunch of lies being circulated on email. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

  4. Well, I dont know about that and you do stretch this well but, if one does look objectivly McCain Palin would look to be "change" more thatn Obama Biden. I asked this earlier this week. What changes has McCain proposed from what we're currently doing? Blues, Dave Nothing really but, neither has or does Obama. But, Palin has more oportunity for change than Biden. The Chicago political machine is either the model for DC or visa versa. I seem to remember Obama talk about bringing our troops home from Iraq, giving a tax cut to those who make under $250k/year, providing tax incentives to make college more affordable to those who will commit to serving their country or community, something about providing healthcare to far more people than currently enjoy it, engaging in diplomacy with Iran (as opposed to "bomb, bomb, bomb...bomb, bomb Iran"). Actually, I've heard him talk about making lots of changes. Technicalities? What do you suppose is wrong with pointing out your opponent hasn't met the qualifications to appear on the ballot? One of the better Obamamyths I've heard in this election has been your side saying "He CAN'T be President, he's not a US citizen! " How is that any different? 6. Based on a poll here on SC, it appears that most people disagree with her ideas on abortion. I suspect most disagree with her ideas on sex ed. too. She IS on the extreme right. Most people here...hardly a real world setting. I think random polling of the US would provide similar results. MOST people really do think abortion should be allowed in cases of rape and incest. 7. How do you suppose McCain will reconcile his criticism of Obama's call for windfall taxes on oil companies with his running mate's implementation of just such a tax? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  8. I'd like him more if I believed him. J (Thanatos340) knows a bit about libertarianism AND has been Barr's constituent, and he says Barr is full of shit. I'm inclined to take his word for it. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  9. I mostly agree with you. She has that down-home, friendly sort of humor that people can relate to. I'm pretty sure that's what got Bush elected. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  10. Indeed! From infoplease.com And from a recent political speech: I'll leave the analysis up to the reader. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  11. Apples to oranges. Is this not the typical role for the VP nominee? Biden's speech was about his good buddy Johnny and why you shouldn't vote for him. You can probably be pretty sure that tomorrow night, McCain's speech will be much more similar to Obama's. Let's compare then. What he said. The typical role of the VP is attack dog. Palin even referred to herself as a "bulldog with lipstick". I suppose that's what some of my disappointment was . . . between her and Biden, it's just the two parties exploiting the Cheney model and continuing business as usual. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  12. I think my guy is pretty good. He could be great if he agreed with me on a couple more policies, but such is politics. He seems to exercise restraint and certainly comes across as a statesman who could make me proud of my leader. I think McCain is ok, and I'm not going to promise to move to Canada if he's elected or anything like that. Again, it's mostly a few policy issues, and a few personality problems. I just consider the issue disagreements I have with him more significant than those I have with Obama. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  13. Who said I was hoping for it? I just know all three pursuits intimately, as well as the sort of personalities and goings on that happen in each. If Mr. Palin has been a commercial fisherman in Alaska all his life, I can assure you he has at some point taken a shot or lobbed a homemade bomb at killer whales. The "save the whales" folks are bound to find some prior crewman who will at least talk about it. It's not an "if", it's a "when". He also likely drank a whole lot of time away earning the big bucks while supposedly helping with the Exxon Valdez spill...that was a major fucking cash cow for fishermen. Drillers have similar "eco-insensitivity"...it's just part of the culture. Presumably I don't need to explain the sorts of exploits involved in after-hour "extreme sport" pursuits. While I agree Obama could lose himself this one, what I got out of the speeches tonight is that we'll see nothing more than business as usual. It's sad, really. I'm surprised Palin chose to emphasize the statement, "McCain is the SAME MAN"...apparently forgetting the whole "McSame" digs the dems have been making. And whose bright idea was it to have the last three speakers focus on the fact that neither Obama nor McCain have led a government...apparently forgetting that neither has McCain. As for the folks who claimed Obama has played the race card. If you're right, the gender card was also played dozens of times tonight. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" 14. Supper's almost ready, so I don't have much time to post my impressions, other than these. One - Wow...I now have a better understanding of some of the people who post to this forum. Two - her husband is a commercial fisherman, works with drillers, and participates in an "extreme sport." Having been a commercial fisherman for a few years, having worked with drillers for the last five, and having ben a skydiver for 13 years, I can guaran-fucking-tee you it's only a matter of time before dirt on him comes out. Three - I can now understand the attraction to Mrs. Palin...she has two extra vaginas! "Drill baby drill!" "Drill baby drill!" . . . are you kidding me? Even if one supports additional drilling, shouldn't it be as an unfortunate necessity rather than a goal worthy of celebration? Talk about short-sighted. 15. A candidate's abortion stance is indicative of their respect for individual liberty (and often freedom of religion). Blues, Dave It also is about living up to the responsibility of ones choices dont you think? Sometimes, but not in the cases detailed in the title of this thread. Blues, Dave Absolutly wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It IS about living up to the choices one makes. This is ecactly why the left has such support for abortion. It is absolutly about the choices you make. And in this case it is how you react to a choice you made. Thank you for so purly showing the point I was headed to Please re-read the bolded portion of my post. In the context of what I wrote, you're implying that females choose to be impregnated by rape or incest. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  16. Ok I gota ask.....just what would you have done with a knife under that reserve other than put yourself out of misery before impact? Cut the misrouted steering line which would be causing a turn once it opened (fine, but a bit hard as the slider went down the lines and the left side got narrower as it traversed the crossed lines). I'm having some difficulty visualizing what it would do, but still arrived at the same picture as you. I'm not even sure the turn wouldn't be correctable without a knife, though that's certainly NO excuse for the misrigging. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

  19. Are we talking 70's style bush? That'd seriously detract from the whole GILF thing she's got going on. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  20. A candidate's abortion stance is indicative of their respect for individual liberty (and often freedom of religion). Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  21. I agree with this in general, just to differing extents. I think both candidates shored up their weak sides to the detriment of their strong sides, and to roughly equal degrees. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  22. I'll admit there is a difference. The winning Presidential candidate will assume the office of President on January 20th if everything goes according to plan. The winning vice presidential candidate could also assume the office of President on January 20th, but only if something bad happens to the winning Presidential candidate. I'm ready to admit that Obama capitulated on the experience issue. While I can understand why he did so, I consider it a point against him because it eroded his claim of bringing change to our political landscape. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  23. Uhm, exactly what needs to be changed? Earning the respect of the international community Paying as we go, as opposed to the government's current dependence on credit (punishing our children for our lavish lifestyle) Statesmanship and diplomacy rather than a "bring it on!" mentality Absolute respect for the right to privacy An expectation of individual and corporate responsibliity with fewer bailouts for both Constant favor for individual liberty, free of government intrusion An understanding that the principle of religous freedom on which this county was founded includes allowing ALL consenting adults to marry. It's between them and their god and none of the government's business. Many, many other things, most of which can't be accomplished by even a two-term President...but one could at least get a good start on them. Alternately, we could spend another 4 or 8 years backpedalling. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  24. 20 years of Rev. Wright? Rev. Wright is now running for President? Or the whole Rev Wright thing was a calculated move on Obama's part because it benefitted his campaign? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
  25. So now McCain is playing the gender card, right? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
