That's not what you have been saying. Please point out where I've said otherwise. I have not said Palin does not have enough experience. I've said her selection negates McCain's claim that Obama doesn't have enough experience. Based on? What Govt's has he run? I think being a mayor and a gov is MUCH more than just being in Congress. And there we can just disagree. While being mayor of a small town may provide valuable experience, I think being a US Senator will provide experience more valuable to a President. That is just one part of the job. How about running a govt organization with a budget? How much experience in that field does a law degree give you? I seem to recall Congress being somewhat involved in that whole federal budget thing. I have never stated that Obama was more experienced than McCain, and I have stated that I was disappointed in Obama's selection of Biden because he's got "too much" Washington experience. I have not slammed Palin for her lack of experience to be VP. I have been repeatedly stating that her selection merely negates the McCain camp's claim that Obama is insufficiently experienced. Should abortion be allowed in cases of rape or incest?

I'll just say I completely disagree. Hey, as long as being wrong doesn't bother you, go ahead and stick with that story. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -

That's cool, you're free to believe that and not have an abortion. But understand it's a belief that others don't share with you, and they are as entitled to their beliefs as you are to your's. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
I haven't seen it yet. The only negatives I've seen about her have been here. Edit to add: In any case, I expected the level of discourse to take a downturn as soon as the Biden pick was announced. That's a big part of why it disappointed me. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

I have seen you say that multiple times. So since McCain got shot down he must be a bad pilot? Is that the best you can do? So Bob Hoover must have sucked at flying also in your world. Although he is one of the most respected test pilots in the world. The "very poorly" refers as much to his graduating rank of 894 out of 899 (bottom 1%) as it does to his 5 aircraft crashes (including the one time he was shot out of the sky, but not the one time his plane was shot on the deck of the Forrestal). This story and this story don't include the experimental/ultralight he crashed after his POW stint. Apparently, he should have studied a bit harder...or maybe that's the best he could do. In any case, his course of study was largely irrelevant to being President, and he wasn't any good at it anyhow. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

In other words, you are either pro-choice or anti-choice. Blues, Dave I have not probem with being called Anti Choice, Anti Abortion, or Pro Life. Why do Pro Abortion, Pro Choice, or Anti Life (No one uses this one) have a problem with being called any one of these. Because pro choice does not mean the same thing as pro abortion or anti life? If you want to label me as something, at least have the courtesy to be accurate. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
So the bottom line is you think "mentioning" = "playing the card." Out of curiosity, can think you think of a single Republican who repeatedly states Obama's middle name but not McCain's middle name? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Fixed it for you. That was a very lame attempt to disparage those who disagree with you. No I said it right, you are either pro (for) abortion or anti (against) abortion. No, not really. I don't encourage abortions, but I stand for the right to choose if you want one or not. It's entirely different. You are either for (pro) someone's right to have an abortion or against (Anti) that right. In other words, you are either pro-choice or anti-choice. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" So any mention at all of his race means he's playing the race card? Do you also accuse McCain of playing the POW card? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Does anyone else see the problem with this line of thinking? Life starts with conception. Is it your position that sperm and ova are not living tissue? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
You and I will have to disagree on the experience thing. I think all four parties have *enough* experience to be President. I think McCain and Biden have too much, or rather too much baggage that comes part & parcel with political experience. I think Obama's experience is more relevant to the position than Palin's, but the difference isn't terribly significant. Besides experience, there are many other considerations that must be taken into account when deciding whether a person is "qualified" to be President. Consider this: Two advanced degrees in law, one cum laude from Harvard, and both belonging to part-time constitutional law professors vs Two bachelor degrees, one in flying (very poorly at that) and one in journalism. It's my belief that the former combined education is FAR more qualified to appoint Supreme Court justices than the latter. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Yes, but that doesn't mean women can impregnate anyone or men can ovulate. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
And that's why he's kept his campaign on the up & up and issue-oriented rather than, say, resorting to a comparison of Obama to Paris Hilton & Britney Spears? Blues, Dave Playing the race card was really up and up too wasn't it? 1 - I've yet to see Obama play the race card. 2 - Even if he has, that wouldn't make McCain's negative campaign strategy any less typical. From the part 105 definitions: Techincally, I'd say it's against the regs, but as you pointed out above, it'd be damned easy to get away with. A simple "I couldn't find my hackey" would suffice. Still, that doesn't make it a wise idea. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

I never said they were a person. New York City, New York 8,274,527 Los Angeles, California 3,834,340 Chicago, Illinois 2,836,658 Taking these city populations, not including the immediate outlying area, into consideration...the densely populated areas are hardly a disputed political mindset. The cities are more liberal leaning. A popular vote system puts well more than 15% of the vote in one parties' corner. This assumes one of the parties is so much more liberal than the other that they'd win 100% of the vote in the cities. I don't see any reason to believe that. Funny thing is I was telling the skydivers around me this weekend the exact same thing...Gustav was a boon for McCain. It gave them a chance to show an improved response and kept Bush away from the RNC. Win-Win. I'll agree with the original poster though, that the Palin pickup was good for McCain. I don't really care what Lieberman had to say, as his support of McCain has been well publicized. He also got Bush to support him, and we've learned how well to regard Bush's "good ideas". What would you do in that situation? I think the cop did the right thing, given the situation he was in. Blues, Dave The cop has his BACK TURNED to the aggressors as he walks away. That, to me, doesn't seem tactically wise. He was being attacked by a crowd and couldn't know that more weren't waiting in the direction he was walking. He at least knew that those who'd already attacked had been sprayed. Like I said, I think he did fine. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Did you say something? You'll have to speak up...we can't hear you at these lofty elevations of 6' plus. Did I mention I got my creeper falcon (4-pt 4-way) in one run across our short tarmac last year? It included an opposed diamond with me on point, hanging on to the bumper by my heels. Alberto Gonzales is a leftie AND a dz.commer? That's who I thought this thread was about. Then again, Billvon did say "Clinton did it first", so maybe Bill Clinton posts here. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
I'm an Obama supporter and have not said that Palin is not experienced enough for the job. What I've said is that with his pick, McCain has conceded his argument that Obama is too inexperienced. I'm also not a huge fan of the Biden pick, but understand that is was simply a concession to the "not experienced enough" arguments. Now, the two tickets are comparably experienced, so let's move on to other issues. FWIW - There's no way of knowing, but I'd venture a guess that if Obama hadn't countered the experience argument with Biden, McCain wouldn't have picked Palin. It was a serve-volley-return sort of exchange, and the play is now Obama's to make or miss. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
