  1. Hey guys, Not that I really know anything about the situation, but it appears that a serious lesson was learned without any loss of life or anyone getting hurt. If it ever happens again.......... well duh kick his ass! I am sure it was a learning experience for the jumpers as well. Wonder how many of them had ever been in an aircraft emergency. Plus think about all the beer that was owed ; ) "First time in a plane that ran out of gas?" Seb Blue skies and freak flies...................
  2. Hey Jumperpuala, Where was that photo taken? Just curious. Seb
  3. I hope this has not been done , or not been done recently, but it is so appropriate. Also go look at the guy swooping a cow pick I placed in the canopy control forum. So thirsty for some air and some brew Sebazz
  4. Here is a picture of a guy named Yoshi (now lives in Florida-I think?) swooping a herd in Hollister California Seb
  5. In my best Dr. Evil impression from Austin Powers "Onnee Miilliiooonn Dollllaarrrsss" Thats not a very good impression, damn I suck at impressions. $4,354,623.24 on beer hmmmmmmmmm........ What kinda beer? Sebazz I soo thirsty for some air and some brew.................
  6. When I graduated AFF several other students graduated around the same time. Once we all had several solos under our belt we started doing two way after two way. At first they were ugly but gradually they got better. And we forged great friendships. And occasionally a very experienced jumper would come out and play with us for no charge or show us a good dive. As an instructor these days I am very guilty of getting stuck doing work jumps all day or going on some hot RW dives. I will make an effort to go out and play with some newbies from now on. Play = no pay. I also never had to pay for a coach so the tradition needs to carry on to the next generation. I see people charging for coach jumps around the DZ quite frequently. It's kinda selfish. I feel guilty if you grab me a beer at the end of the day Cheers Mr. Von to a great post.............. Seb

I never quite gave it much thought. One night some friends and I got wasted and dared eachother to do it after talking about some extreme sports. But not tandem we wanted to do it on our own. So me and five people went down did the FJC, did the jump and, and well I was reborn instantaneously. I could not believe that I had not started sooner. The people around the DZ rock! Airports are just cool places to hang! Freefall free's your mind........ Funny side story, when I called my mother after my 1st jump I told her I wanted to come by the house and show her the video. When I got to the house she had a log book sitting on the table with over 60 jumps logged. She quit when I turned 5, though I don't remember her doing it. Too many round landings.............Pretty cool though huh..........She used to jump when it was dangerous.......... Sebazz So thirsty for some air some brew............
  10. Phree, You don't want the tandem rating so much as you want to be video flyer. Those video folks are getting the killer shots. The tandem JM doesn't get much of a show. Unless they squirm on your lap, Haha, just kidding. Sebazz Thirsty for some air and some brew.........
  11. Ah be the Tandem JM. It's the only close up pick I have of me on my computer............ Seb
  12. Uh Lummy, they're scheduling rain all weekend here in Nor Cal. I see the clouds comming in as I write. Fubar! I am so thristy for some air and some brew.......... Seb
  13. In Reply: Are you suggesting that the most important part of skydiving is the freefall. I don't think I suggested this. What I was trying to say is that the actual freefall time a student has is minimal so you have to make the most of it, and you want it to be successful. One way of doing that is starting off the skydive correctly by assuming the position in the door and having a proper count. I have seen the exit make a difference in many AFF dives in terms of actual learning. This is just some advice for a student preparing for the AFF. Skydiving is a combination of freefall, deployement of a parachute and canopy control acheiving a safe landing. Peace. Sebazz
  14. It's so important to start the jump right. The student only has 55 - 60 secs to learn as much as possible. I something goes wrong on exit (like a bad count) it takes a third of the skydive for most students to move on. I make my students do the mock up thing over and over and over. I usually appologize ahead of time then they thank me. Prop - Out - In - Arch...................... Yeah Baby! Seb
  15. In Reply To: Really? So what's Frank doing these days? I'm not really sure. I hear things and stuff, but not really any of my business. I just know that he lost all his ratings and stuff and was trying for a while to get them back from USPA. But yea Mendota is no longer there........... Seb
  16. I saw a 40 way from the ground one time. 40 f'n canopies cruisin through the air at sunset, sooo beautiful. The biggest way I was ever on was a 30 way otter formation load. Roger Nelson organized it. I did tag my slot as I blew by it. Flaring isn't only for canopies............... Sebazz...... Boy am I thirsty for some air and some brew.........
  17. We do - Out In Arch............... Seb
  18. Hey tell Yoshi and the Nardi's hi from Sebastien in Cal. Are you sure it's Mike Maguire and not Chance Maguire? Greg Nardi the new DZO there was my main side JM on my first jump. And hi swife Patty is sooo cool. Damn I'd love to go visit those guys....... Seb

    Age?

First Jump October 1997. Now I'm 27 years young. Seb.
  20. I only know of one non - USPA Group member DZ and that's Lodi in California. It's proof that self regulation works. They are for the most part a pretty safe DZ. There used to be another place several years ago in Mendota California. I heard some bad things about that place. Needless to say since they were shut down. Sebazz.........
  21. Basically a lot of experienced skydivers have spent all their money/savings on the sport and can't afford a damn thing besides skydiving so they made up these rules to take advantage of students so at least they can get drunk. I am so very kidding............. Anytime you do something signifigant - You Owe Beer! Beer Karma is so important......When you owe and you know when you owe you better get some........ And younger jumpers need good beer karma more than anyone. I am so thirsty for some air and some brew. Seb.
  22. Know the dive flows............. Be prepared before going to the DZ.................. Visualize your jumps over and over and over.............. Breath relax................. Have fun Sebazz.........
  23. Are you going to sink it in with a big canopy or Swoop it baby! Yeah
  24. An instructors responsibility is to teach a student how to survive and to do whatever they can to help without risking their own life. But the student has the ultimately responsibility for themselves. I love students. More than experienced jumpers. Seb
  25. I gave up watching football, gave up watching car racing, gave up some friends, and stopped spending money on anything that wasn't skydiving related. Actually gave up drugs and hard liqour too so I could be sharp and concentrate on jumping. Well I guess skydiving is my new drug of choice. Oh and there is more................. So thirsty for some air and some brew....... Sebazz
