I dont think break off is an issue, if youve ever done loose big ways like we did in the old days, [hey that could start a song]
-
Having someone 180 and fly straight into those stray flyers could potentialy kill...and near misses HAVE occured.. ------------------------------------ I think a slow 180 produces such a steep turn that the altitude loss would clear them of any stragglers, if anyone is flying on the same line as the group that far below the group they are flying blind, its impossible to see the group from that position, they should track off when there that low, if one must "straggle"

If you reference the person next to you, and he/she references the person next to them, etc... all the way back to the base you have a sure recipe for waves, since all errors and corrections accumulate. If everyone directly references the base then errors don't accumulate ------------------------------- exactly, I 've been thinking that, you just have to have a bit of a gap to let the person "in front" of you "wave" but if you in the 3rd or 4th row were not moving relative to the base there would be much less disrupteve movement Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

What will the future wing suit resemble?
Tony-tonysuits replied to Droppedbomb's topic in Wing Suit Flying
the limit is a hanglider, you can land that, but its not a "wingsuit" you cant put it in a plane and you dont need a parachute, but do hanggliders do RW like we do? they just fly around getting lift and looking for food like birds, [not Jonatahan of course] I think were doing just fine, little twekes every year to keep it changing, thats all we can hope for... maybe Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com -
Try not to defeat your goals before they start. --------------------- Yes, I think having the more experienced wingsuiters there will make it fly so much nicer, you know it only takes one flailer to upset the load, There was negativity before the freeflying 69 way at Chicago's summerfest this year, they got it though. and yes, I think if your in the photo your flying relative to the group, that's about all you can hope for without grips, Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

Whatever the reason or intent behind both events may be...unless you want to fly, laugh, drink, or talk about ponies, video, chaps and other gay stuf...please dont bother commenting. ------------------------------------- well said....again Jarno, can we get you and Tristan to bring all your chap's we're gonna need loads it seems
-
we can do anything, were masters of the sky's
-
Yes. True gay people should come to this one, homophobics to Scott's. ---------------------------- we're doing an all chap way on one dive
-
I dont think you could be further from the truth.. I think events like these wont exclude the more open events from happening. and this will help develop the bigway flying, both imagewise and (more important) safetywise. --------------------------- well said, Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

What will the future wing suit resemble?
Tony-tonysuits replied to Droppedbomb's topic in Wing Suit Flying
yes, a bird has a chest built to hold those big wings, it has relatively no muscle outside of what it needs to fly its wings, plus scrawny little legs, no we could never match a bird with a cloth wingsuit, all we can do it keep making proto's, doing little tweaks here and there to see if it fly's better without ripping your arms off, no flapping or whatever parameters you set yourself, One possible down side to performance is if our wings got real flash like a glider or Yves Rossi's you'll restrict the way we fly relative the way we do, funneling and flailing all over each other will have a different meaning...........perhaps Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com -

You know I make that exit look good! I'd ask jeff to put the rest of the pics up, but I'm affraid you'd all say his image capture device is unreliable ---------------------------- That's right, pix can be doctored, I bet that wasn't even you, we want the negatives [do digital camera's have negative's?] anyway we want the pix to be analyzed by experts for tampering. -

HE'S TALKING ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL opps it is to do sequential in a wingsuit, I like it, im a bit bored with flocking, I dont like taking grips so much as doing dive's with continual movement, we've done two lately, one was a stack, the top guy come's off to the side and drops down to the bottom, when he gets there he slides in under the bottom guy now he's the low man. At the top when the next guy to go see's the first one go past him the 2nd guy moves to the side and follows the first guy, when the first guy tucks in at the bottom the 2nd guy go's on and then he tucks in, [or her of course] it looks like a vertical conveyer belt, the second one was Jeff and I set two base's 15 feet apart, then we both get two wingmen form up on us to form 2 three way wedges, then on the nod jeff's wedge moves forward and ours go's behind there's then up alongside then in front to repeat the move, when done right it should look like two wedges flying around each other Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
