  1. Im sure every system will have its issues, i have also heard of the cuttaway being very hard to use and in some case's not working at all, so..... Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  2. when you say new, do you mean new as in 'recent change'? As Ive met several jumpers who have negative experiences with the sleeve system, up to the point of hem installing a working/functional cutaway on the wingsuit themself. Especialy in colder weather enviroments, an additional layer if clothing seems to prevent the system from functioning as advertised. With the sleeve not sliding due to clothing bunching up. Not a single case, but multiple people who complained about it. Imho a serious safety issue which should be adressed. If its a redesign/improvement, then a warning/modification should be offered on older sold systems to warent safety. no, its the same sleeve, we've been using it sucsessfully for about a year now, winning every comp the suit has enterd, and yes, if you want to wear a fleece jacket under then you have to measure over the said jacket, If not then we recommend a sleeveless thermal top with a spandex or long sleeve T under it when its cold, Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  3. I fly a Stealth these days. I got no problem with arm wing pressure. I'm not so happy because the suit limits my reach even more, than my Phantom I got before. I have not been and not planing to be on the floater bar with Stealth. I'm wondering to get an XS or X-bird, so I'd like to know if X-bird would have more freedom of arm compared to XS. Thanks! yes, I think the "curve" in the trailing edge of the X-Bird arm makes it more flexable, plus the easy reach sleeve lets you reach up to the floater bar without having to stand on tip toes, I have thumb loops on some of my suits, but I like to leave em off, way less restrictive on opeing and when floating, Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  4. What is the functional difference between the old and the *-bird wings? Thanks! Functional difference?.....hard to say scientifically, Its done more on feel and performance, there is a lot less fabric in the new arms, that's why a heavy guy might need more speed to get lift, hard to do when flocking as you have to match the groups speed the cord is shorter through most of the arm so pulling seems easier, the long part of the wing is all close to your body so the weight on the arm is less, I do think laminar flow is improved....... there's twice and many ribs in the new suit, though most are just in the trailing edges, we've also been working on "ruderage" the line on the foam bootie and the ribs in the legs... + some other small secret things
  5. Yes actually. Have the "bird" versions made the originals obsolete? I.e., Is there any point to the Raptor with the existence of the R-Bird? The SM1 with the release of the S-Bird? XS and X-Bird? ok, here's what Im thinking, its still a bit early to say but, I think, heavy guys "Might" still prefer the old style wings, Justin, Jeff, do you agree? you lend em out a lot more than I do Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  6. can you decribe "weighted" scoring? do you mean a handycap? Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  7. I saw..."The actual jumps/rounds will be announced online (in animated form) around June/Juli 2009" any news on that? Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

  10. ok, I'll do it, ive never done a wingsuit base and I dont like pulling low but....hmmm maybe we can get Toby to do it, you reading this Toby, he doesnt like to pull low either, 300 m. Heres a question, does the G/R improve with lower thicker air? it sure feels like it. I know in a plane you gotta go higher to go faster, so, is that the same with a wingsuit? 11. you dont need arm moosles, I just proved that, and with the newer zp lined sleeve, but know what? Toby said he got his best time with the inner arm zip UNdone, how bout that, so I tried it and... 13. haha, good one, but my score was'nt 3.52 as my darling daughter Flora posted, it was 3.588, so, thats almost .59 and .9 is allmost 1 so.............
  14. But then again, people just love setting up nonsensical competitions of all sorts, so why would they? Yuri ------------------------------------------------ * like in, "You're so trackingderbyish! Flying down strong winds and marveling at nonsensical GPS results! Idiot." why on earth is it that wingsuiters have to slam every atchevment thats done wingsuiting, FYO, the windy day was the friday, I did my runs on the saterday when the winds were low at altitude to none on the ground, performance is the trick, get it right and kick it, or sit in your bedroom and bitch. 15. Haha...thats more of a personal discovery tony. Most people have been doing that since the skyflyer1 already. The length of the gripper does influence how pronounced the effect is. Watch Robi fly his V3, and you notice these subtle 'alleron moves' and weight shifts inside the suit are all the steering inputs he uses. Not the wild flapping and chaotic leg bending/stretching must of us use in flocking. Less is more... yeah i figerd I wasnt the first but ive never heard anyone talking about that affect so thought it nice to "bring up" bit like freeflyers flying inverted down to a big "flat way" somth no one talks about but all freeflyers [that go on a flat ways] do, yes, allerons should be the new name for grippers hahahaha Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  16. Ive only done a couple on it this week, and I found that the grippers are like allerons, if one hand is low I tilt that "alleron" down a bit and it lifts it up, its was like a discovery, [I dont know why i havent tried that before, has anyone?] so then im going along moving left up, left down, haha, 5 or 6 times.... feels so funny, I've used one gripper before to move away from someone too close but thats about it, head up head down can be controlled with both at the same time too I think Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
