  1. 9' from the bag but if you put your arms back out after deployment, that can still cause the pilot chute to hesitate, its a formula ...if you sit up to slow forward speed then throw your pilot chute into the air of your big arms then it might hesitate, base guys pull in full flight for that reason as someone just said, Pulling the arms in after deployment is the key Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

  6. Of course its here to stay, people bitching about big ways is like 4 way flat flyers bitching about 8 ways or big ways even, if they love doing 4 way, they will still do it all. Its there to do, for you to play with, and yes, all your friends are there too........ Party......... Doing any one event all the time is boring, a bit of this and a bit of that, its the spice of life Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

  9. hey I just spoke to Tobi, he said he didn't want the dive taken out, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Than thats one thing I mis-understood. But dive aside, seeing the differences between up and downwind legs, thats at least one step towards getting a more true performance gauge. With the dive gone, and a longer (11.500ft to 4500ft) competition window (also making endurance part of the game) ---------------------------------------------------------- oh we're having fun now, so take the dive out and make the gate out the door so we're flying sub-terminal, and holding that hard ass'd position for another 1000 feet, what fun, what...."Endurance" Shame it would lower the G/R even more. and also how do you claim the world champion thing, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By us whooping your ass at the International Artistic Wingsuit Competition just over a month ago? -------------------------------------------------------- Well thank you for the compliment but beating me in competition doesn't make you a world champion, you have to win a world championships to make that claim, I didn't hear you say Jeff and I were World Champs when we won it last year. 10. Met up with Tobi today at Teuge and had a nice 'worldchampions of wingsuitflying meet' (didnt see Justin somehow) and he was all praise for the new no dive, up/down wind leg. It gives a much more true image of wingsuit performance, and also is s much more direct comparison of flying(instead of flaring) skills... J hey I just spoke to Tobi, he said he didn't want the dive taken out, you told a porki pie there Jarno, heres what he said "i told to jarno, that i didn't like the speedround at all, but not that they took out the dive until the measure window, that's not correct! " I thought it strange because he and I were part of the 1/3 that voted the dive be left in last month in Gransee, and also how do you claim the world champion thing, I saw you compete at Marl in 08 and you came nowhere Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com

  12. I'd just like to remind the guy earlier who was knocking my suit that the X-Bird has won distance in every event its been entered in for 2 years, Its beat every suit on the market for glide ratio. Jades suit in Norway was too long so the wing rode up and it was too loose so the wing came away from his bod, both these mistakes of mine put his arms out at 90 degrees. How can you be so rude towards a guy that spent his last penny going 3500 miles to YOUR boogie? 14. Ah but were not in cars and were not base jumpers were skydivers, skydiving in competition, and if you must use that parallel, many car race's do use rolling starts Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  15. Technically, if the suits improve, so should the times and distances without the dive. It would be a more true display of the flyers ability (combined with the suit). And flying suits relative in formation is also possible with good performance levels...it would be a good thing to also push that one... It would be a seperate catagory. Not a replacement of the solo flight. to dive then hit the "gate" corectly at that speed is also a good display of the flyers ability, and way more fun than starting the 'race' in a semi sub terminal state, Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
  16. I dont mean adding a 4th challenge. I mean adding a 2nd catagory to the current competition (same rounds, distance, speed, time), but doing it as a formation. Be it 2 way, 4 way or whatever. Would be nice to see some performance flocking noo, if im going to go for the greatest distance, time or speed, whats the point of trying to do relative work while doing it, it can only slow the times, we need better times every year, thats why the dive is good, it takes you beond the norm... 17. I think you have a good comp there to do a world cup, When i got there i thought the "speed" event was odd as no one ever dives a wingsuit at 30 degrees, working on 20 secs for the 1000 meter working distance was odd when we can get over a minuet in that time but when I saw how the event worked in the comp I luved it, where the light weight dudes have the advantage in "time" the heavier dudes have the advantage in speed, and anyone can win distance, so it all works out great. All those times would have been way better though if we had the "Marl" dive.... bring back the dive...keep the dive alive, luv that speed
  18. Man that was a blast, 2 days of super high energy, 3 diff events to find one winner, well done Tobi Lowering the exit altitude so taking out the dive before the "swoop" was the only down side, upwind downwind all good, but no dive ahhhhhhh

  23. how bout... if the opening are slow enough, and if you see line twists while your in a stand up waiting for it to open you could put a foot forward and one back to spin out of the line twists,
  24. One couldnt reach up due to a fast spinning canopy, which didnt enable him to slightly lift the legs, which seemed needed to be able to reach up. ok here's what you do when your canopy is spinning you round so fast the G's hurt, you cutaway the malfunctioned main, you go back into freefall and pull your reserve, its what all the other disciplines do and it seems to work fine, Easy reach arms are great for helping with line twists but sometimes you gotta just get rid of it, Unless of course you reach up and pull the "high" riser down level with the low one. 25. So.....thats indeed a very valid reason not to take a critical look at the gear you manufacture and sell. This silly safety thing ey...blech.. Indeed dont educate people on the use and potential problems that should be adressed/payd attention to. Guess Im just bitching.... yes, our system is exatly designd around safety, when someone opens there canopy in your face and you have 2 seconds to reach up for a rear riser to get out of there, you think you have time to cutaway??, or if a toggle release's, wham im on it, Stop putting the fear of god into everyone jarno, your talking shop over sanity Life is a series of wonderful opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. tonysuits.com
