it's friday, it's sunny, but it sucks. just had to have one of our fuzzy friends put down. he was the friendliest of our ferrets, but started having problems yesterday. he was pretty sluggish in the morning, and by afternoon he couldn't walk. i took him to the vet who told us he was paralyzed from the neck down. no spinal injury that he could find, but he couldn't move. gave him a shot of steroids to see if it helped and told us to call him back in the morning, but he only gave him a 10% chance of recovery. this morning he got up and tried to walk but fell over. back to the vet. he said it was a good sign and gave him another shot, along with some pills and an antibiotic. i dropped him at home with my step son and went back to work. about half an hour later he started having convulsions, so back home, back to the vet. by this time he was totally limp, including his head, total paralysis. he figured it might be menengitis or a clot that had moved to his brain. no real hope of recovery, so we had to put him down. i'll going to miss the little fart. shoes: usually sneakers, usually $60 - $90 and they generally last a year as my 'good' shoes, then they get demoted to lawn mowing and yardwork shoes, then trash. i have a pair of sandals i bought a couple of years ago, and a pair of hikers for winter. and my chucks, but they come uner the skydiving equipment category. haircuts: haven't had one in over a year, but probably need a trim. it'll probably be $25 - $40 or so. sheets: i like the feel of high thread count stuff, but won't pay the ridiculous prices of some of them. i have some fuzzy sheets for winter. great for cold nights art museums: it would really depend. i don't go out of my way to find them. well, not a bucket as such, i forget how much the container weighs, but it is safe to say it is far more gummy bears than a person should eat in a day. not that i would know about that. i get them at walmart for about $3 each, usually get one regular and one sour then set them out for the gang (about 8 of us) to devour. a bucket usually lasts less than a day here. i'm a n00b at rw stuff (and skydiving in general) but i would think that unless you're jumping with a bunch of real lightweights, 115 - 120 is an average rw freefall speed. it sounds like you're fine at that range, the others will have to learn to arch! someone please correct me if i'm wrong here.
