Thanks guys and gals. And yes, I will be there at 8am for the Excel Basic Camp.

Now now Dave. Don't make me come back and do a coach jump with you...
-
So you wanted it bad enough. Way cool. Congratulations. Oh yes. I definitely wanted it badly. As if you had to question that...

Finally got my A license. I've been out at Lake Elsinore since last Thursday, and yesterday I did my check dive and got my license. Although the check dive wasn't as great as I hoped (nerves ) the exit and landing were pretty good. I'm psyched beyond belief and looking forward to the learning that begins with the A license. Have done 15 jumps in 9 days, and still have all day today and tomorrow. Yeah baaaabbbby!!!

Fear vs. nerves?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When I am sitting at the open door, ready to jump out, I get nervous and can't seem to relax. Not sure whether it's just my fear of heights (yes I am somewhat afraid of heights) or is it nervousness because of what I am about to do? I am sure that it disappears in time as I gain more experience and knowledge, but how do I conquer the nerves/fear short term? For everyone else, was it fear or nerves that you experienced at the open door? How did you conquer it? -

Elsinore in T-minus 6 days!!
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I cannot wait...the adrenaline has been kicking in for the last few weeks. Almost 10 days of nothing but...but...but SKYDIVING!! Hopefully, after I'm done, I'll have my A and a bit more knowledge of this sport & the people. Looking forward to the socializing as much as the skydiving. Any Elsinorians wish to share some wisdom with an East Coast noob that's visiting? -

Nice to hear I'm not the only one that didn't expect it! That's ok. When I will be in Elsinore in January, as I'm about to land, I will open up a full bag of confetti right over her head. Revenge will be mine...muahahahahaha!!

I opened mine right above the computer keyboard. Now I have little glitter embedded in my keys...Damn you Lisa!!!

Krav Maga is brutal. But you'll have fun with it. Also, take a look at this website. Systema, a Russian martial arts. I am thinking of going there for the summer training workshop. Pretty expensive, but totally worth it. http://www.russianmartialart.com/

Tell that to my sister... she still thinks the smoke detector is a timer. Hah! Oh and I cook. I have no preference for type of food, but love cooking Russian food...being Russian an' all My favorite type of cooking is to get some random food supplies and make something up on the spot.

How is the weather in Elsinore in January?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Yep, you might need one set at Elsinore and the other at Perris or vice versa. January is a crap shoot. Oh are you serious? -
How is the weather in Elsinore in January?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Nah, give you a year or so and you'll decide that you can wait till it's warmer. Keep your core and your head warm and get a good pair of cold weather gloves (many recommendations available here): http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=all&search_string=winter+gloves&search_type=AND&search_fields=sb&search_time=&search_user_username=&sb=score&mh=50 My core? I don't have a core...i have a gut. -
How is the weather in Elsinore in January?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm Russian too... Although, first time I jumped in 'cold' weather was November 11th of this year, and my hands were numb after I landed. I think I am just not used to it. Give me a year or so, and I'll be jumping in my Bart Simpson boxers in mid-January. (No I don't own Bart Simpson boxers, but I do have a funny story involving them when I just moved to this country. ) -
How is the weather in Elsinore in January?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Both ground and jumping weather? Say, oh, for example, 2nd and 3rd week of January? I need to know what to bring for nightly..ahem..interactions, as well as jumping clothing. If anyone tells me that it's as cold at Lake Elsinore as it is in Connecticut, I'm not going. I'll just bundle up and jump here.
