Difference between AFF programs?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What's the difference between AFF 1-7 and AFF A, B, C, etc? I have no idea where my SIM is, and was hoping someone here could either explain it to me or point me to a good resource somewhere online. -
Friday Night. Home Alone. Glass of Wine. Anyone Else???

How about a dinner and full body massage? Will that cheer you up? LOL - Nope. Yoooww! That's cold. P.S. That always cheers me up. Well, you know, it all depends on who is doing the rubbing. I didn't mean to break your icy CT heart. Oh please you didn't break anything. Barely even cracked the surface. -

How do you feel about long distance relationships? And by long distance, I don't mean altitude... -
I know from experience that noone bats 100% on their landings. So far, I've had only 1 stand-up landing. The ones that I've done on my own, sans any radio help, I either flared a little early, little late, or simply had my feet go out from under me. I am having trouble gauging the distance at which I need to flare. Does that come with experience, repetition, etc? Curious how long it took everyone else to get their landing to a point where most are good stand-up landings.

How long did it take you to TRULY get into the sport?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
I couldn't have said it better myself... I definitely know I'm into the sport. Every time I look up at the sky I want to skydive, and I feel frustrated by certain setbacks, be they financial, work related, weather related, or otherwise. But I know I'm in this sport as a long term participant. -

So you live in Jersey eh? I'm from CT...how YOU doin'? I'm heading out to Cali in January to finish my A and then coming back and will try to jump a few times in the winter. Want to join me? Then I can warm you up after the cold jump... -

I have 11 jumps, but i started jumping this past March. Took the summer off for financial reasons, then got back into it during September. I feel that I'm not going 'fast enough', not spending enough time at the DZ, not socializing enough, not delving myself enough into the skydiving culture. Some of it is financial reasons, some of it is time, and other misc. reasons. Does anyone else feel that way? -

Yes it should solve your issue. NTFS offers several improvements over FAT32, one of them being enhanced file security. It offers better structural integrity for data & storage, as well as better use of hard drive space. Honestly? If you're running a machine at home for basic use such as word processing, internet browsing, some games, and use your external HD as storage for music/movies/photos/etc, there's no real need for NTFS. Just format using FAT32... Oh and can't forget to add 'browsing dropzone.com' under uses for your computer system. Edit: Good quick read on NTFS vs. FAT. Explains it a bit further. http://cquirke.mvps.org/ntfs.htm

Why skydiving is better than sex! 1. You can have six skydives a day and still want more. 2. Finding partners for skydiving is much easier - physical attraction is not as important. 3. Skydiving is much safer, no diseases and no kids. 4. Finding good partners is much easier - everyone knows in advance how good a skydiver you are. 5. It's socially acceptable to do 4-ways, 8-ways, 16-ways... 6. Everyone involved is usually satisfied or not with a skydive. 7. You can ask skydivers if they've put on weight without offending them. 8. You rarely get told by your partner(s) that they've had enough. 9. Solo skydiving is not embarrassing. 10. Everyone is ugly in freefall.

Have you ever met that one perfect person...
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
Yes except the religion part. I'm not a terribly religious person, but I know that she is. Whether that's due to her parent's influence, or her culture (she's from Morocco) or the combination of all the factors, I know it might be a potential issue, esp. when it comes to kids... -

So let's say one person is Jewish and another is Muslim. Does anyone see that as a potential problem, especially this day & age? What about bringing up children in a family where each parent is of a different religion? -
