I have an entire pot of Starbucks Medium Roast here... but you have to come get it... Where are you again'? Is there a nice field nearby where I can land? I'll have the pilot drop me off... I am in beautiful hot and sunny central Florida.... no fields close to me at the moment, but there is a 5K lake around the corner... how is your water landings I've done my water training...but if I start drowning, promise to give me a little mouth to mouth. Sorry but that lake is full of big ass alligators (16' & bigger)... you will have to drown after you get to shore.... Hey if Roger Moore could get out an alligator-filled pond by walking on their heads, well damn it...so can I!!! Let's hope none of those toothy bastards snag my canopy while I'm running...then I'll be in over my head.

I'd sell my second rig really cheap. But I don't think you want the 120 main, or the 120 reserve. And it has no cypres. And it's pink. And it's getting a bit tight on me (it must be shrinking). Feel free to try it on this weekend though. Hmmm, if you can even get it on, maybe I'll let you keep it.

Here lately, that is all I am fixated on... b.o.b. just isnt cutting it anymore.... Battery problem? Or, did the power company go out of business? No... just needing human touch... b.o.b. isn't good for everything.... b.o.b. is most definitely function before style.... I got some touch fo' ya babeh...and function.

I definitely got some good answers so far. Now, I weigh 185-190, plus about 30lb for gear, and that would make my wing loading at 1.06 if i did my math correctly. The Triathlon 210...would that be a good size, or should I look for a smaller canopy in the 190ish range?

Broke, When and where did this happen??? I'm glad to hear you're ok brotha! I ama complete noob still, but it simply sounds like you made a judgment call (which initially stemmed from the pilot changing the spot), and regardless of why you made that decision, you came out of it ok. It doesn't necessarily mean you should give up the sport, but you simply need to re-evaluate. Look at it this way: If this decision might be a chain of incorrect decisions you've made consistently in the last few months, then maybe you might have needed to step away from the sports for a while. But from what it sounds like, it was a combination of the pilot changing his/her mind at last minute & you making a judgment call. You can chat with the pilot to make sure it doesn't happen again, or simply ask them to do another jump run to get you to the proper spot, or simply ride the plane down if you don't want to jump for whatever reason. On the other hand, maybe at this point in time, your family means more then the adrenaline rush. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that! And sometimes, we have to give up something we love for the sake of our loved ones. If you feel that way, then take a break. Put away your gear, maintain the social contacts you've established with various skydiving friends, hang out for social hour & beers once in a while...but take a break from the sport. Spend more time with your family, develop your knowledge/expertise in other areas (as you mentioned) and come back when you're ready. If you don't come back, then it's not meant to be. But if you choose to come back at some point in time because you won't be happy unless you're free-falling at 120mph, your family will understand. And just like you gave up skydiving for a period of time for them, they'll understand that it makes you happy and you can't be without it. They'll make the sacrifice for you just like you made it for them. The good thing is this: if you chose to step away for a bit & come back in the future, the sky will still be there for you, and it will be just as welcoming as it was before.

hey...that's not a bad idea...sew a few together and I have a main... 190-210 for main, same or a bit more for reserve. container has to be freefly friendly, as that's in the near future for me.

Especially if another person is involved.
