  1. No, I was expecting Eric Roberts Well you're definitely getting your moneys worth!
  2. Just last weekend we got a whuffo call on our tandem booking phone. He was interested if he could get into solo skydiving after tandem and was especially interested if we were doing that cool skydiving discipline... You know, the one where you throw your parachute out of the plane and then you jump after it trying to catch it. He wants to get into that. Your answer should've been "yes, but it's only a 1jump discipline"
  3. Not going to help...you see what that sharktopus did to that boat?
  4. ...enter the Sharktopus Is there no imagination/creativity left in Hollywood? This movie is beyond...bad. The only movie that can possibly give it a run for its money is Boa vs. Python
  5. Are you saying you fall as fast a suitcase?
  6. I'm looking to finally order my custom container ... and that's my leading option right now. (I already own a Mirage G4 ... the harness is too big for me and with a wide yoke, I'm not comfortable flying head down). O Nice. I'm going to be in Florida third week of August for about 8 days, and hoping to narrow down my options by then and purchase a container through one of the dealers at Deland, Sebastian or Zhills. You can always buy my current container ... it's designed for a guy (wider shoulders). It has served me well, but I need something that has a smaller harness and fits me better. After missing out on some jumps, I do want to have two rigs ... if I sale this one, I'll have to buy two containers (instead of one). Btw, my container does take a 210. O What's your current container? My current canopy is a 210 as well, and as long as yours can fit between a 190 and a 170 in the next 2 years, I definitely would love to talk to you in detail about it
  7. Cute puppy...makes the no jump weekend worth it!

  9. What do you think it is that you're not possibly getting?
  10. :3:0 A H&P and 2 3ways (that went to hell at one point or another ) but a lot of fun and a canopy course at the DZ this weekend.
  11. Actually, I would recommend against pillow reserve handle for the time being. Being new you should stick to what is familiar (stainless handle). It provides a more positive/easy manner of extraction. Well I am perfectly fine with the stainless handle for now. Maybe it's a very stupid question from a skydiving noob, what's the advantage of articulation vs, non-articulation? Is it purely a comfort option, or is there more to it?
  12. So aside from from stainless steel hardware, and maybe the padding for the back/leg straps, what options on a rig are really worth getting?
  13. There are two handles on the front risers and whenever the velcro catches them, whether it's as I'm packing or carrying the chute to the packing tent, it snags on them. It catches it once in a while, but it's enough to do a bit of damage every time.
  14. My canopy has velcro toggles, and while they hold pretty well, the velcro is causing some damage to the risers and the front riser handles. Is it possible to add velcro-less toggles to my canopy? Just a curiosity question. I am getting tired of the velcro catching on everything from lines to risers to anything else that it comes in touch with.

  16. I can't stop laughing.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2RNJYKI3go Funny begins around 10 seconds into the video. Warning: Do not consume any beverages while watching this video. They may end up on your keyboard, monitor or anything else that's in front of you at the moment.
  17. We used to but not anymore. Had a few problems. Check or cash would be fine. I know they say not to mail cash, but I don't think $20 or so is too big a risk. We have a locked mailbox on this end, so it's pretty secure. I'd love to sell you some tickets. Leap for Lupus Foundation c/o John Mitchell 14202 143rd Ave. Ct. East Orting, WA 98360 Make sure you include your name and contact info. We'll fill out your tickets and notify you if you win. I'll post the winners online here after the drawing, too. Post office is closed already but will send check Monday. Good cause and good people.
  18. H/C? Harness/Container. A holdover from the very old days when they were separate items Ah IC. Thank you.
  19. That's not bad at all. How do you like your infinity so far? Pretty good in terms of freefly friendly, good bridle protection, comfortable, etc?
  20. Mirage is a bit too expensive for my taste. I have 2200 or less to spend... Dont even look at a Vector3 Micron! Actually, if you're not trying to go crazy with options, you might be able to keep it under 2 grand. The base price is $1800 IIRC. Take a look at Dolphin and Wings, they're pretty inexpensive. Wings (I believe) has better bridal protection for freeflying it looks like. Then there is Mirage and UPT, starting around the $1800 mark, plus options. Turn around on the Mirage is faster of the two. They dont offer a MARD for the Mirage yet, but you might not be looking for that? Do you already have canopies? You can find used containers in the Classifieds here. No need to buy new! I am curious why the Wings are relatively cheap compared to other containers out there. I'm looking to stay with my main/reserve (Tri210/RavenII 218) until next season.

  22. I'm starting to look for a freefly friendly container, and was wondering what to go with. I've researched some new/used containers, and honestly...I'm not sure what container or what options to go with. I've heard great opinions about Mirage, Icon, Vector, Wings, Javelin, etc. I am also not sure what options to go with if I go with a new container. Any thoughts/suggestions? I'm going to Zhills in the end of August, and they have a good line-up of new and used containers in stock. I want to go there armed with enough knowledge about various containers. Thanks y'all.
