  1. Why don't you? And...if you do, what do you use to keep warm? When I say cold weather, I mean New England in the wintertime, not Florida.
  2. I'm addicted to that show...I burned (pun intended :P ) through the first three seasons in about a week...sacrificed a good amount of sleep for it too!
  3. So you wanted people to touch you and ask you skydiving questions? Did you look like this guy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wX5hbQIyy0 (WS)
  4. Hahaha...do you know this guy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wX5hbQIyy0
  5. RIP to a fellow Russky brother and skydiver. Refresh my memory...is that the guy they couldn't find for a few days? How long did it take to find him?
  6. Good point...I have a gear bag. And you don't want people asking you "..is that REALLY a parachute and you jump out of planes with it?"
  7. Last time I traveled within the US, I took my rig with me into the airplane, and didn't really get hassled for it. I was only asked to show my USPA card (because apparently the TSA supervisor has seen a few parachutes in his day ) and on the way back from LA was asked to open the main container. Other than that, no problems. But after the latest TSA fiasco with the full body scanners, pat downs, etc., who knows what the hell TSA is thinking anymore...I know they are doing their job, but I don't want that to end up in an unpacked main or reserve. So..do I keep it in a gear bag with all my other equipment, and unpack/take everything out if they want to see it, and delay the line further, or just secure the reserve/cutaway/main handles and just take it on board again sans gear bag like I did before, or do I check it as luggage in a gear bag? Any thoughts appreciated.
  8. ..for a Win7 machine. I'm doing a complete reinstall and want to put on a few versions on there so I can test websites in various browsers. But for my main browser, which browser takes up the least amount of resources, less prone to crashes, etc?
  9. .She, (I think tthe OP is a woman) has done about all that is worth the money to do... Nope OP is a dude(he jumps at my dz) So that was YOU that tried the Crocodile Dundee test on me...you focker!!!!
  10. Yep, that's John. I've met him a few times...his work is fantastic. In a way I agree with him. Think of all the technologies that have been created for anti-piracy, anti-dvd/cd burning, and how someone cracks it about a day later.
  11. Just like Skyride: they're just regular business people... To the OP: Yes, you should be pissed off. It's theft. Well, I am pretty ticked off. But I think if I find the person who did this, I won't get mad at them. I'll simply tie them up and have that ambigram tattooed on their forehead...and misspell it! I think that's an acceptable measure of revenge.
  12. As some of you know, I am a graphic designer who designs ambigrams (words that read as the same or another word when rotated, reflected, mirrored, etc. Think 'Angels and Demons' http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0RoaeTB_vTs/SebaDA6r0JI/AAAAAAAAALM/R5nTXcwXA2k/s1600-h/Angels%26Demons.gif) Well, I created a 'skydive' ambigram about 2 years ago, and yesterday a friend send me a text and said he saw decals of my ambigram for sale on Ebay. It has been ripped off from my website or flickr page, so I contacted Ebay and the listing has been removed, but it also shows that several people bought it. If you bought it, please be aware that you've purchased a decal from someone who is dishonest and stole my work without my permission. Now the question is...should I be really ticked off? On one hand, it means that someone likes your work enough to copy it. On the other hand, they're making money from your creativity and hard work.
  13. Come to CT and jump in some snow...then talk about being cold. PS. I haven't done that either...I'm too much of a ..well, you know.
  14. Thanks Dave...I think. I'm not making anyone sound bad...was just a bit peeved at the response. It's been a week...I'm over it trust me. I know there was an LO, and he actually did invite to squeeze me in about five minutes before boarding time. Now, that would've been screwing up a planned dive, so I politely refused. And by the time I found someone to jump with, did a jump and packed, i had to leave. Next time...next time I'll have to jump with you! Doug, I told you already...I will introduce you to a hot Russian girl. All you gotta do is ask.
  15. 2 cases. And my feelings weren't hurt, as I don't expect to be let in on any given jump that I want. It was just the tone of the remark that got to me, that's all.
  16. Thank Lekstrom. What DZ? Yeah def no egos, and chances are lekstrom will even give you a big fat smooch in FF Great...then I'll solve two of my issues at once: not having anyone to jump with and being single.
  17. I'll buy you a few beers just for that post... You cheap a-hole...I have a few bottles of homemade vodka for him.
  18. Oh i get that part, and I'm over it already. Just really rubbed me the wrong way when it happened. Yes, I plan to stick around for a while.
  19. Well, you and a few others aren't understanding something..I NEVER said i felt i was ENTITLED to a jump with them. All I'm saying is there are different ways to respond and communicate, and that wasn't the best way.
  20. Amen to that, my friend. It was an error made in younger years, when ego got in the way of good judgement. After 25 years of marriage, I no longer have an ego - I just want to have some fun! And just in the skydiving sense, right?
