  1. I love it when some newby is ground training for a tandem, their instructor yells this out loud, and 3/4s of the DZ says WHAAAATTT? The other 1/4 is other tandems + their families/friends.
  2. Forget the potties...how about some hotties?
  3. I'm thinking of getting the GoPro HD Hero 960 http://www.goprocamera.com/products/hd-hero-960-camera.php and using it not just for skydiving, but also for skiing. Also was thinking of picking up a chest mount for the skiing use. Has anyone used their GoPro for sports other than skydiving? And in general, how do you like the camera, video/picture quality, etc?
  4. Just registered. Hoping to see y'all there! Say hello to a short 5'8 Russian in a blue/black checkered jumpsuit with an old turquoise/grey Vector II.
  5. My favorite commercial, by far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkB9OT2XVvA What's your favorite commercial as of late?
  6. It wasn't...but they were sitting down about a foot from me, and my music was quiet enough so I could here people around me, not just them.
  7. Dang, is that chronic? I wasn't gonna go there. I should've though...because someone else would undoubtedly do it.
  8. She was pretty damn cute...medical school students..both of them. But i feel just because I"m single I don't need to make anyone else miserable and kill their date...so I didn't say a word..I just chuckled.
  9. I'm sitting in a coffee shop doing my work, and this couple comes in. After hearing them for a few minutes, I realize it's a first date. My music in my headphones is quiet enough so I can hear them. Then, he pulls out the 'i'm a skydiver' card. But, turns out he only did one tandem. And he is starting to feed her all kinds of bs: the freefall was only 15 seconds or so from 14k, we fell at almost 200mph, him and the instructor were falling upside down most of the jump (well that COULD have been true ), that they opened VERY CLOSE to the ground, and some other BS. So being the a$$hole skydiver that we call can be, would you interject and call him on his BS, or would you keep quiet, seeing as they were having a first date?
  10. Hey neighbor...I'm from CT. At this point, I'm leaning towards a 4-5 hour drive to a VT/NH resort for 4 or 5 days. May be cheaper in the long run. Maybe we can get a bunch of people together? Sounds good. What dates are you thinking about? I know 4 or 5 people- mostly jumpers- who would be into it- as long as they can get off work and the costs can be kept fairly low. I don't know as much about East Coast resorts- I've skied a lot of them- but when I was kid. I remember enjoying Whiteface, Killington, Stowe- would be cool to get a deal on a ski rental and just pack it with people for a week- its always more fun with friends As long as this is sort of becoming a ski forum...does anyone in Colorado know about any lift ticket deals? I might try to do a day or so at the Summit County resorts next week. http://www.placidbay.com/main.html This place is great, and not a bad drive away. I think it's $105 pp/pn, including lift tickets. Was suppose to go last year, but a blizzard came up. Anyways, it's a great place. Probably 3 - 4 rooms with 2 people per room would be great.
  11. Got lots of money??? All the "TOP" world famous skii places tend to be a bit overpriced. Many other not so famous places have runs and facilities that are certainly just as thrilling and far less challenging to the normal persons budget. You can ski for an entire season for what you blow in one long weekend at one of the "World Class Resorts" Just my $.02 Seriously, your paying close to $100 for a lift ticket. Ya that's a bit too much...
  12. Hahaha...I've already fooled one DZ member (who also jump at my local DZ) who thought I was a chick...I still think he hasn't forgiven me, right Dougy? ;) I just want a week of non-stop skiing, that's all I really want.
  13. I want to tell you what to do with that comment, but I just can't...it was too damn funny.
  14. I'm looking for a good place in the US to go spend a week and ski my Russian heart out. Unless I end up close to a big city somewhere where I'll also be able to go to a museum, see the sights, get together with some fellow skydivers for drinks, etc...my schedule would ideally be as follows: get up, eat breakfast, go skiing, get back to hotel room, go to sleep, then repeat for 4 or 5 days. I don't want to go to a resort where people go to show off their expensive ski equipment while barely skiing and spend most time in the lodge eating and drinking. I want to go to a mountain with a nice range of black and double black diamonds, some nice terrain/woods skiing (which I want to get into a lot more as I've barely done that), and trails which are at least 5k+ in length. Any suggestions? Oh and I live in CT.
  15. So what you are saying is that you won't give up two pussies to get just one. I just lost it.
