  1. Having met you in person, I'll be bold and say that you can make any of them work.
  2. Looks like Skymama taking out a turtle.
  3. Good luck Peter. I'm in CT...and if I didn't have to teach and have a meeting later, i'd have loved to come by. Can't promise that my rig wouldn't have made the trip with me I'll be relocating to NYC in June...keep me posted on any future parties.
  4. I drew a logo/patch up a while back, but everything stalled a bit. I'm still searching for places that can do a patch really cheap in bulk.
  5. http://www.chutingstar.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/900x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p/i/piclogo_mind04_1.jpg I have the helmet in the photo above. I am currently in the process of sanding it and taping off sections of it for spraypainting..and I'm having trouble w/ taping off the spot where the chin strap is fed through the helmet. There's a ring of metal there and I don't want to get any paint on it. Nor do I want to remove the chin strap via unstitching it..and then not be able to have anyone (rigger or otherwise) sew it back together. Any suggestions?
  6. The only logical solution: Find that business and open up a store next to it. The store would sell panties with an insert that will emphasize the 'feminine' parts.
  7. Next to the entrance of the building where I work, there's a sign that says "no smoking within 25 feet of the entrance', yet...there is a standing ash tray right by the door. People believe someone when they are told there are 4+ billion stars, but have to check the 'wet paint' sign.
  8. Skydiving pet peeves - getting bumped off a load - getting to your slot and realizing someone is there..which means either they're in the wrong slot or you have no idea where you're going. - Being grounded due to weather or airplane issues Non-skydiving pet peeves -turning on the radio just to hear the last few notes of your favorite song, immediately followed by your least favorite song - Thinking "i have enough gas to just make it to the next gas station"...only to be proven wrong - (_!_)holes that don't say 'thank you' when you open the door for them, say 'bless you', etc. - people that stand around exercise equipment in the gym yapping the time away, but when you ask them if you can work in they say 'no we're all taking turns' and then you watch them yap for the next half hour What's your pet peeve?
  9. Hahahaha!! Thanks Andy...there goes my coffee all over the keyboard.
  10. http://www.punoftheday.com/cgi-bin/disppuns.pl?cat=0&ord=F=1?=0 Example: It's not that the man did not know how to juggle, he just didn't have the balls to do it.
  11. Hahaha...that's actually what I said. I still had about an hour before I got home after tennis, showered, dressed, and to drive to where she was would've been another 40 minutes or so. So I told her "...I could maybe make it by 12ish..." to which she said that's too late. Oh well...
  12. Or D. She is involved with someone else that is on and off again. or just needs a ride.. Damn it deezy...ya always gotta bring a guy back down to earth. You asked and I answered.. but really you should have just gone to the bar. Who knows, maybe you would have got lucky this time. Yea yea. I'll take my chances and look forward to another opportunity...if not with her, then with someone else.

  14. badger I am not falling for that. Been to that website too many times. At least you didn't try to Rick Roll me.
  15. Yes, because I know all she wants a ride to another bar and a drink...past experiences... Then why did you ask? To see what everyone else's experience with this 'situation' is? Anyways she confirmed that she was drunk in another bar and wanted to get closer to home a few minutes ago after I posted this. I'm tired from tennis, and have another match at 9am tomorrow. Stop badgering me
  16. Yes, because I know all she wants a ride to another bar and a drink...past experiences...
  17. Why are people becoming more and more jaded? Why do we (myself included) let our views become so negatively influenced? Why bypass what might become a wonderful evening in a belief that she just wants to use you? From my past experience with her... ...and because she confirmed via a text message that she's drunk in another town somewhere and doesn't want to drive. Damn I hate being right
  18. So what you're saying is.. Dropzone name + guy or girl in parachute = good dropzone logo? Are you making a logo? What program(s) do you use? I'm just working with paper/pencil/markers right now. I do about 95% of the work on paper, and the 5% using the software just makes it look aesthetically pleasing and presentable for the client. For logo design, typically Illustrator, Freehand, or Inkscape. Mostly the first two.
  19. I don't believe C...that's one of the reasons I said no.
  20. ...you've made plans with once, they fell through and she hasn't shown interest since..all of a sudden texts you around 10pm on a Friday and says 'lets go for a drink', and then you find out she's not in her home town but somewhere else and wants to meet in a bar, is it... a. she is stuck there and needs a ride so she's calling you think you'll take her to another bar and drive her home b. actually want to go for a drink with you, but needs a ride to get there? c. actually wants a drink with no strings attached? Yes, I said no, because I just got home from a 3 hour tennis match and have no legs left to go anywhere, even to a bar. And I'm leaning towards a, or maybe b, but def not c.
  21. I'm just thinking of what is most easily understood by a student looking for a drop zone. For instance, you -could- show a D-ring, but really, would a student instantly recognize that for what it was? Even if he did recognize it, is that the message you want to send, "better pull this thingy or you're dead!" OR do you want to show what most people would consider to be successful outcome of a normal skydive; the relative safety of the open parachute. Oh I definitely understand where you are coming from.
  22. So what you're saying is.. Dropzone name + guy or girl in parachute = good dropzone logo?
  23. Obviously there is some imagery that everyone can't get away from, due to the nature of the sport. But does a logo for a DZ really NEED to include a parachute, or a skydiver, or another other elements that directly related to our sport? Just wondering what the target market thinks, since I'm working on a project and wanted some feedback from the ones that would be seeing logos, posters, and other skydiving related graphics more than others.
