Happy birthday! Enjoy your day!
-
reminds me of the whuffo in the bar telling tall tales about his skydiving exploits and when I asked him what kind of parachute he jumped (not wanting to confuse him with terms such as "rig" or "canopy," he said: "A regular one." Bwahahahaha.... Should've asked him "what's an irregular parachute?" was that you in the bar!? To quote someone I know, "FUCK YOU mate!"

Sebastian, Deland or ZHills?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Make that probably 5-7 DZs. Going to Skydive Orange in VA, Farm in Atlanta, Raeford in NC and 2-3 in FLA. Damn...I may be tired after my 'vacation' -
Sebastian, Deland or ZHills?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Well, my money is saved up for jumps. I know a tunnel is worth it, but I can do that up here in New Hampshire. I'm driving down to Florida to jump!! And jimmy, I'll be driving to the 1st DZ on my list out of Atlanta. Spending a day or two there and going to sneak a few jumps in at The Farm. Then heading down to the Florida DZs. I think 3 DZs in one trip is more then enough...or is it? -

Sebastian, Deland or ZHills?
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm in the midst of a serious decision Will be in Florida from the 12th at night until the 19th morning. I would love to visit all three dropzones within that week, but by that time I will have driven over 1200 miles (driving from CT and making a few stops along the way.) My initial approach will be from Atlanta to whichever DZ is closest, stay there for 2 days, then drive the next DZ, stay there for 2 or 3 days, then drive to the last DZ, stay there for 2 days, then drive back to NC, where I'll be spending another day. So, does it make sense to try to visit all 3 DZs? Or should I pick 2 of the 3 and spend more time jumping & less driving? And if I were to pick 2 DZs, which ones would make sense more? Keep in mind the span of time I have for all the skydiving/driving/etc is Friday the 13th to Thursday the 19th. -
Why don't you come along then to dilute the sausage factor?

That just ruined it for me. I think there's something wrong with me. Something terribly terribly wrong! Nothing “wrong” with you … something wrong with the Mirage executives, once for being so shortsighted as to publish an ad leaving out a small, but not necessarily insignificant percentage of the skydiving population (i.e. potential customers) and once more for using spell-check rather than a proofreading service before sending material to the magazine ... O I don't get their thinking either. If we're talking about target market, you don't design your ads that focus on the majority of the target market, while AT THE SAME TIME potentially turning off the smaller percentage of the would be clients to their products. You either create different ads that focus on both the majority and minority of the target market, or have one marketing campaign for all. There's nothing wrong with risqué advertising, but it has to be clever...that Mirage ad is not clever.

Wings owners, lend me your ears and opinions.

That definitely helps, thank you. Still not sure about the stainless steel hardware, but will do more research on that. I live on the east coast in CT, so other then summer, humidity wont be a big issue. -
Agreed.

I am almost set on purchasing a Wings Vision container, and not sure what options I really need. So far, I have the following: stainless deluxe RSL Hackey Collabsible Pilot chute Spacer Foam (is this purely comfort as well?) Cut in Laterals (think these are really needed?) Is there anything else that I really NEED? I will pick a standard color scheme, with no extra embroidery, tie dye, etc. Thoughts/suggestions? -
Dissapointed with Aerodyne

I say make him walk the plank...in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. (yes that was a joke! ) -
I am in CT but frequent NYC a lot. Would love to meet up with some fellow DZers as well!

Who was that? Another from the same jump and a new one. Good eye contact throughout the barrel roll huh? Dave I'd say so! When I was doing barrel rolls, my sole objective was to stop the roll, not keep eye contact with the AFFI

I am sharing my opinion in the forum. That is what the forum is here for. I have not complained about their product. People can read the post and come to their conclusion. Do you or others think I am overreacting and have not reason to not want to buy a Pilot over this? If so you/they can post their opinion (as has being done). That somebody will read the title and come to a premature conclusion is not my responsability. As can be seem most people do not even agree with my opinion. Mistakes happen. If you were running a small business, and your product that sells for 2000.00 was advertised for 200.00 because someone (regardless who) made a mistake. Would you sell the product for 200 just because there was an online glitch, or someone who posted the ad in a newspaper/magazine made a mistake? -

Ummm...pray that the parachute opens? Whatever you do, do NOT ask students questions that are on their AFF quizzes, even as a joke. I asked a student one of the questions and made light of the exaggerated answer that I gave him, making sure he knew that the answer was a joke and NOT the correct answer, and he understood that. Well I got chewed out by an instructor for that who overheard our conversation. -
You need to clarify. Fastest pack job that OPENED or fastest pack job that was just...fast?
-
Hahahaha....now THAT'S funny.

Great photo! And losing to a skydiving photo is a good consolation.

Oh puhhleease... After Quasimodo's death, the bishop of the Cathedral of Notre Dame sent through the streets of Paris that a new bell ringer was needed. The bishop decided that he would conduct the interviews personally and went up into belfry to begin the screening process. After observing several applicants demonstrate their skills, he had decided to call it a day - when an armless man approached him and announced that he was there to apply for the bell ringer's job. The bishop was incredulous. "You have no arms!" "No matter." said the man, "Observe!" And he began striking the bells with his face, producing a beautiful melody on the carillon. The bishop listened in astonishment, convinced he had finally found a suitable replacement for Quasimodo. But suddenly, rushing forward to strike a bell, the armless tripped and plunged headlong out of the belfry window to his death in street below. The stunned bishop rushed to his side. When he reached the street, a crowd had gathered around the fallen figure, drawn by the beautiful music they had heard only moments before. As they silently parted to let the bishop through, one of them asked, "Bishop, who was this man?" "I don't know his name," the bishop sadly replied, "but his face rings a bell." The following day, despite the sadness that weighed heavily on his heart to the unfortunate death of the armless campanologist, the bishop continued his interviews for the bell ringer of Notre Dame. The first man to approach him said, "Your Excellency, I am the brother of the poor armless wretch fell to his death from this very belfry yesterday. I pray that you honor life by allowing me to replace him in this duty." The bishop agreed to the man an audition, and, as the armless man's brother stooped to pick mallet to strike the first bell, he groaned, clutched at his chest and on the spot. Two monks, hearing the bishop's cries of grief at this second tragedy, rushed up the stairs to his side. "What has happened? Who is this man?" first monk asked breathlessly. "I don't know his name," sighed the distraught bishop, "but he's a dead ringer for his brother."
