World records in Thailand, from memory Henny was jumping:- Two digital videos Medium format stills 35 mm stills 16 mm film A brave man with a very strong neck, an excellent camera flyer, he was the camera team captain and an awsome, fun guy to work with. They were mostly controlled by switches which he wore on his left hand, and there was cheek and blow switch built into the helmet for the stills/ 16mm, but I'm not exactly sure about what switches did what. Here is is his homepage. www.parashoot.nl Cya D

First aid question - full face helmet
nacmacfeegle replied to billvon's topic in Safety and Training
I guess SkyMedic would know what to do, must be similar to motorcycle smashes, did you think about a battery powered dremel, or similar? Just thinking out loud.... I think it would be difficult to pull a helmet off without moving the head, but cutting the 'jaw guard' off would be relatively straightforward. Interested to see what everyone else thinks. D -

batteries and LCD screens are on the left side of the camera:- normally, so to view your bodacious f/fly, or change the battery you would have to :- A mount the cam upside down on the right side, which is quite common with head downists... B Dismount the cam I think Paul gave the same answer on the photo phorum Okay? happy snapping D

AntiMike does a pretty good job of looking after JumperPaula, they are really good for each other. If he's not around I'll occassionaly share a Heinekin or a Cessna with her....But that's all! Cya D

Nah, never done any of those little ones, mostly I work on fixed platform installations, as opposed to semis and jack ups. I'm working on BP Clair right now. Agreed on the botch jobs on some of those rigs though seen some real horror stories in my time. Wat do you do?

Principle safety engineer, I design oil rigs, platforms, floaters, petrochemical plants, power stations, and other big things. The one we are designing right now will be the largest thing ever lifted by mankind, its destined for the north atlantic. Cya D

Safety advice for newer camera flyers
nacmacfeegle replied to airdrew20012001's topic in Photography and Video
Film everything (eg everybody elses exits on your load), and don't expect to make money for a few jumps. If you are filming 4 way, it helps to be competent at that discipline BEFORE you strap on a camera, same for crew, ff, etc Wear an audible, Practice cutting away, Attach your helmet on takeoff, they make lethal missiles if you get an Omri. Befriend an experienced camera flyer, buy them beer, pick their brains, don't be afraid to ask. Learn how to edit quickly, and plan shots, that way you fly the camera, not simply wear a flight recorder. Okay thats more than 3 but what the hey, I'm in a good mood. Cya, happy snapping D -
