Anybody have any ideas for withdrawals from skydiving Go to a certain well known shop search out some nice videos, depending on your taste, but anything by Patrick Passe, Norman Kent, or anything that involves freeflying would be cool, then phone Skybytch and place your order......Then you can mooch around the couch and watch jumping all day long. Oh, don't forget to stock up on the world team video ..... Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream.

I guess you could fall back on France's awsome English beating abilities on the rugby field then...

Anything that will take me up. It really is as simple as that. If its flying, I will jump it. Cessnas (any of the numbers), Islanders, Porters, single and twin Otters, turbine or piston, Let, G92, Cherry coffin, Beaver, Faves are herc, stretch herc, Casa, AN72 (coaler), G222, skyvans, skyliners, chinooks, big Russian copters. I got a thang for tailgates... I like novelties as well like the stears, and AN2 biplanes, basically if I rock up to a boogie, and there's a plane there that I haven't jumped, I'll do it just for the hell of it. Choppers are cool too, have also jumped jet rangers, and chinooks Never jumped a balloon and am hurtin' for one real bad. Hey Froggie, how's yer footie team doin huh? Looks like they are performing like Scotland normally do..... Kleenex, naw, I don't bother cleaning it up, I got Canadians to do that for me...LOL Ya gotta admit our mag is way better than the one our colonial cousins put out though, and we have the nowse to put the good stuff on the net......If more people visited this site before posting inane questions about their poor wee itty bitty sore paws, we would have more bandwidth to wind up each other, talk about boobies, beer, cars, etc etc etc... I agree with your numbers Alan, I usually dump way above 3000. My point is, it is extremely unlikely that you will have a lineover on your reserve, especially if your reserve packer is worth his salt...And I know mine are.....I would be trying just about everything under the sun to clear that lineover, including heaving on the brake lines, risers etc (as you pointed out), the option of cutting a line is just that, an option, and in situations like this (res malfunction), I like the idea of options. I would not stop exercising options till the blood filled my goggles...... The chances of me surviving a violently spinning lineover on my 176 reserve are slim to say the least, my res is loaded at around 1.4-1.5 -ish. Don't anyone start a flame war over reserve sizes, Thats not the point here. I know I can land both my PD176 or my Raven wherever I want, cos I have had to in the past. Having just re-read your post, I'm assuming that it was not pointed at me in particular, but to the board in general..... What do you do when your film camera fails?

PC7 no mem stick, but I can stills grab via Premiere, its just that the quality sucks, so I'd rather not waste the photo paper or my rep by producing crap.. Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream. -
Try and find out what the filter thread size is, then you may have to use stepper rings to take you to a wide angle in one of the more comon thread sizes. Wait a minute...30.5mm wtf? No wonder your having problems....take it to a Photo store and ask them for stepper rings up to 37mm, then get a regular W/A.... Next time, get a Sony....sorry man..

Yeah, I told you she was a hottie (all Texan skydive chicks are hot), and a bad ass freeflier, but she's not yet a Pooh Bah, like me...

"This is actually a darn good article. " This is actually a darn good website, it posts the 'best' of the British magazine, and has loads of good stuff on it.......

The rod in the femur thing worries me, I still carry titanium in my femur, therefore avoid the whole swoop thing for this very reason..... Positive feel good vibes are winging their way towards our broken brother.....Thoughts are for his family and loved ones too. Come on down Freebird, yes the DZ will be busy, but not so busy as to be unable to fit you in, surely.....It looks like a dotcom party will be kicking off anyway....So your invited.
-
So, if we get a whole pile of visiting dot commers, Aggiedave, Skygeek, Ferret etc plus some help from the Rats, and mebbe Goat etc, and mix it with the regular Spaced dot commers, we have a good possibility of setting the dotcom record for hybrids. It would be good to see Texas and Spaceland setting the standard again. Lets not mess about with rules, we should simply apply VSCR regs, whatever they are........Now who in California will show us BOOBIES if we can cut it??? "If cutting a line over on a reserve ment the difference between living and dieing, I bet I could do it." My money would be on you correctly identifying the offending line, not because your smart, but because you are more likely to be rational, calm, clear headed, etc due to your greater experience in cutaways and such like. Besides, a good rigger shouldn't be packing a lineover in your reserve. I make it a point of checking my res pack job at repack time, when I do a cutaway and pop on the ground. If I don't like what I see, the res packer won't get an awful lot of business from me......Ya payas ya money, ya takes ya chance...... Hey little Dove, how's Florida? Okay, my opinion here is that avoidance is the best form of mitigation. When using packers, I set my own brakes, cock my own PC, reset my own slider. If the packers are having a busy day, I'll run the line check as well to make sure the lines are free. When I'm packing myself, I do the things described above, but when I'm about to sort out the PC, I wave the thing about a couple of times to make sure it inflates. I ALWAYS check the wee window as part of my own pre jump kit check, in the UK (and other coutries) this will also be checked at flight line checking. It probably doesn't answer your q, but I think Hooknswoop covers the salient issues..... Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream.

That would seem reasonable. Not really fair to charge for shots that don't work, if there are any at all...... Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream. -

"...... My thoughts are about their pain.... who knows... " My feelings too, when I had my bad biff, it finally sank in that this is not just my life, and it would be a selfish act to destroy myself in some stupid way. I was totally blown away by other people's 'love' and concern for me. I guess very few of us realise just how many other people out there care deeply for our well being, and actually like having us around. This year I have felt great pain over losing some good friends, that is a pain I would rather not have to experience again. Tom, I share your anger and would add helpless frustration to the emotional mix. Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream.

Like skymonkeyone said, the BPA require licensed jumpers to wear one, so it becomes a habit. Agree with you about the difficulty in identifying the correct line during a violent lineover situation, but its better to have at least a chance...... Have heard of people getting their booties hung on cessna steps, a hook knife would be useful here, I would not play canopy dogfighting without one either.... I have used one once, but it ws preplanned. I was taking snaps of a deliberate s/l hangup from the students point of view. I attached a static line to a climbing harness, dropped out the Islander then surfed along behind the plane. Once the 'instructor' was done making all the signals, mimicking cutting the S/L etc, I cut the S/L and went into 'normal' freefall. Setup was a standard climbing sit harness with a snaplink at the rig chest strap to keep me head high. Worked a treat and was surprisingly stable. Anyone care to guess how many hook knives I was wearing for that little stunt? Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream.

160 is my neutral sit. I only have to stand to chase friends.....I can do about 125-130 working hard on a slow sit.....Ummm....dunno bout h/d did one at the weekend and was up to 178, but flailing. Cya D GR# 37 Remember how lucky you are to see and touch the sky; the blind may only dream.
