I think it is more Cultural Pride than Regional pride although in this case the Culture is defined by the region. I am from the south and do understand some of the Pride in the Southern Culture. (And ashamed of other parts of the history/culture) I had this conversation with my Cuban sister inlaw one time. She is one that is very proud of her Cuban heritage and culture. I tried to explain to her the Southern Pride thing was similar. Being Southern is an Ethnic distinction. Most ethnic groups exhibit some for of pride. Many southerners are very proud of the stand taken in the war of northern aggression. It was a war fought for cause (Far more than just slavery), It was a war fought over States Right and tariffs. My Loyalty is to my Country first up to a Point. When the country no longer represents the ideals and Beliefs it was founded on, Then I would gladly join another confederacy to get the country back on track and back to the principals it was founded on. I see the Confederate Flag as a Reminder to the Federal Government that the States will not be pushed around. This is the UNITED STATES of America. Our constitution clearly intended for the States to have power with a very LIMITED federal Government. Now over the past 200 years that power has shifted greatly.

Not sure who you are referring too. I personally thought we should have let them fall too. I don't think Government has any business propping up ANY business unless it is about national security. the banks screwed themselves with Greed and bad business practices. When it blew up in their face, They should have paid the price and went out of business. I have NO sympathy for the Banks at all. I do have some sympathy for the Auto Makers because I realize that it was MANAGEMENT that screwed them so bad. Now let them Die and let a newer stronger, Better managed company take their place. Funny I see this as the Liberals are winning the economic war. The Government now owns Part of the Banks and most of one of the Automakers. Nationalizing the Banks and Automakers sounds like a huge Step towards socialism to me.

A Sad Day. Piss Poor Management for Decades, Overpaid executives with their heads up their ass for so long, Ridiculous Union Demands and even more Ridiculous Corporate executives that agreed to them. I wish in some ways they would go under completely so that a healthy viable company could step up and fill the void (If there really is a Void) in the market place. D. How the Gorgeous Twin Sisters showed and offered the help. You discovered that the Bikini Tops (that they so graciously offered remove and lend you) could be filled rocks and made a much better weight to toss the rope with. Now needing just a little more rope or String, These same generous Twins gave you thier Thongs which you were able to Cut up and make the extra length of rope needed to free your trapped glider. e. After all that, The damn thing was Too broke to ever fly again anyway. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!!!

I like to think that I am MUCH younger than my actual age.. However I think it is finally all catching up to me. The last time I put my middleaged ass into a Pit at the Misfits show a couple months ago, I ended up having to have the Fluid Drained off my knee a few days later and it still hurts sometimes. Yep. Not true. For a Single Individual, A good Policy can be had for about $300 a month (About the same as a lot of people spend on Skydiving, Bar Tabs or other hobbies). Less for other policies with limited coverage. yes, It is expensive but you do not have to be "rich" to afford your own health insurance. TANSTAAFL

Anyone still watching this?? Last night?? WTF?? Did Simon get into Paula`s Pill Stash or something?? Seriously, I have never seen Simon that far off before. Kris and Allison both Delivered GREAT performances, Praised by all of the other Judges.. Then Simon says they sucked. Then Matt come on and totally Blows.. All of the other 3 judges agree He sucked and tells him that.. Then Simon (The one thing you could usually count on was Honesty from Him) comes and tells him it was the best of the night till that point. Conspiracy theory ahead (Please put on the your Official Tin Foil Hat before reading more) I have always thought that the show was pretty much rigged in how they Manipulate Votes. I agree that Adam is pretty much the forgone conclusion as the winner this year and that he should be, But what bothers me is the way the show is "Insuring this". 1. Adam once again gets the Pimp Slot. He (Nor dushe-bag Church Boy (The two clear Judges Favorites since the beginning)) Have ever had to go first in the line up. They are always in the last couple slots with Adam usually going last. A huge advantage in this show. 2. Pay attention to the lighting when Adam performs. No one else gets the superstar lighting treatments. 3. This past week Simon Bashes the two best performances of the night (Kris and Allison) and then Hypes the worst (Matt). I cannot figure out why Simon (And the producers) would throw Kris and Allison under the bus like they did and try to Save Matt (Which they have already done once with the Judges Save). It should be very clear that Matt should go home tonight. But by sending Kris or Allison home this week abnd keeping the weaker Matt on for next week (Rock Week BTW, Should be Kris and/or Allisons Forte) They are protecting Adam and Danny for next week. If it were Allison, Kris, Danny and Adam going into Rock Week it should be VERY close and Any one of them could be sent packing (Including the possibly one of the Chosen Two). By Tossing Allison or Kris under the Bus this week and saving Matt.. Matt would definately be the one getting voted off next week thus saving the chosen two in the only week remaining that could be a challenge to them. Anyone else see this or should I double up on the tin Foil Next time?

I first joined up here in 2001. Been posting waaaaaay too regularly for most of the past 8 years. Only Banned once for about 10 minutes and that was more or less a joke with a mod (done in humor more than anything). A descent pair is JJ or Better. Here is simple strategy for a first time player. It is very simple and will totally piss off any reasonably good player at the table because it completely takes away their chance of out playing you... Only Play the Following hands: AA AK AQ KK QQ JJ AJ - SUITED. AT - SUITED. Fold all Other hands. You one and only move is ALL-IN everytime you get one of these hands. Dolye Brunson developed this strategy (If you can call it that) for his neice who had never played Hold-em before in her life and wanted to play in the WSOP. She made it till the third day of the tournament and cashed.

That is an ugly nasty place (And not nasty in the good way!!) the most important thing to remember is if you are a Leftist.. Anytime someone from the rights post something (Anything at all) - The only appropriate response is "Bush was an Idiot!!". While many from the Right (Such as myself) will most likely agree with you on that point, The leftist are firmly convinced that this point fully justifies, Backs up and validates any and every claim they make. If you are from the right, The only proper response to any post (no matter the subject) is "they are trying to take away my second amendment Rights!!!" and "And then only the criminals will have Guns". Stick with those simple guidelines and you will fit right in.
