American Idol throws Kris Allen under the bus.
Thanatos340 replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
Agreed on all counts. Also Adam has Gone LAST (Pimp Slot) almost every week and has NEVER gone first (Worst Slot for a contestant) until this week. Lots of people had noticed this (Along with the special lighting Adam always gets), So this week they know they finally have to make Adam go first.. So what do they do? They create a way so that he can still go last too. I agree that Adam should win. He is the best but the show looses what little credibility they had by doing these manipulative things. Danny is my least favorite and I wish he would go home tonight but unfortunately it will be Kris or Allison. -
I have never been able to get to New York to see any Actual Broadway productions but plan on changing that this summer. I have seen the Touring productions of: Phantom of the Oprah Wicked Jesus Christ Superstar Spamalot Little Shop of Horrors Hair Hairspray And Countless others as Community Theater Productions. I have to agree that Phantom of the Oprah was by far the Best.. However at the Moment I have to say my Favorite is Bye Bye Birdie as it opens this Friday Night with my Daughter playing Rose Alvarez at her community Theater.

Ouch. You mean like this one?? -
My Brother?? No I just Point and Laugh. Actually the old saying about the difference between a Good friend and a Great Friend?? A Good Friend will come bail you out of Jail at 4:00am. A Great Friend will be sitting right beside you in Jail saying "Dude, That was Fuckin AWESOME!!"

I cant see any other possible answer than "Do the right Thing". Knowingly allowing an Innocent man to prison when that person is in fact the Victim is unconscionable in my mind. Much like the other story line going in that show where The kid screwed up the deal that would have saved peoples pension plans. I think that one is much harder choice. Let an Innocent man VOLUNTARILY go to jail (to protect his daughter) and save the pension funds.. Or Blow the whistle on the Daughter and let Retirees loose their life savings. That is a MUCH tougher choice.

Any Florida Real Estate agent people out there?
Thanatos340 replied to goofyjumper's topic in The Bonfire
Is the real estate agent working off a Commission?? One that they only get paid IF the house sells?? If so, Tell her you changed you mind. You decided not to sell. Watch how quickly they find a way for you sign without having to come up there. -
I am as far right as most anyone.. And I Applaud this Administration for stepping up and passing this legislation. The idea that the banks could lend me money under one set of rules, terms and conditions and then arbitrarily change those rules at anytime (thus changing the agreement under which the money was borrowed). Chase was the worst offender in all this. they canceled ALL signature series cards and transferred all balances to "New" credit Cards with far different terms and conditions. Further more they added a $10 a month ($120 a year) Service Fee with the new cards and jacked up the interest rates regardless of payment History and credit ratings. I hate government meddling in Private business, But when the Business are FUCKING the American people every which way possible, I have no problem with them stepping up and saying "Dont change the rules once here is an agreement in place" or any rule changes only effect future Purchases. I really wish New York and Cuomo had gone forward with the threatened criminal charges against Chase management for their actions. Racketeering at a minimum.

A. I need to see that pic again as a reminder. B. The Top (what little there was of it) that you wore at the last Dublin Poker tournament was one of the most brilliant poker strategies I have seen in a long time.

My guess is you are referring to "Bowling for Columbine" and its cometary on the Climate of Fear. You would be shocked at how much of that movie I agreed with, The problem was the False and inaccurate information portrayed as "Documentary" and sensationalism clouded that message. And that horse has been beat and you are correct, Entirely another conversation.

And about 360,000 Union Soldiers. It was the Bloodiest and most deadly war ever. More men died in that war than all other wars since that we have been involved in combined. Respect for those that stood up for their beliefs and died on the battlefield still runs very deep in this culture. No one knows the sacrifices and hardships our fore fathers endured more than a Southerner. It is ingrained in our culture. I live next to a Civil War Battle ground where 4000 men died fighting for their beliefs. Some of those beliefs I find abhorrent, wrong and disgusting (Slavery) but others such as the States Rights are still held very near and dear to the hearts of most southerners. The war was lost but the principals for which that war was fought remain embedded in our culture 140 years later. Respect for those that stood and died for those beliefs stands strong and also is part of the culture. The original question was about State Loyalty vs National Loyalty. In the case of many southerners, that is one and the same. It is loyalty Not to an administration, Not to a Party, Not to a particular government but it is Loyalty to Constitution of the US as it was originally intended. When the federal government over step its bounds, I guess my loyalty would be to the State if the State is the one following the Constitution. Beyond just the war, Other aspects of Southern Culture I do take great pride in. Courtesy, Honesty, Chivalry, Independence, Self Reliance and Integrity. While these traits are certainly not exclusive to Southerners, They are things that are highly respected in southern culture. The culture is also plagued with bigotry and ignorance but those traits are fading and hopefully will one day be eradicated. I do take pride in being a southerner (And yes, I have lived up north and out west). I prefer the south and the positive aspects of the culture. Nerd Girl, You want a taste of real southern culture sometime (OTP), I will take you to my moms house for some Collard Greens, Corn Bread, Fat Back, Blackeyed Peas, Pork Chops and best damn Peach cobbler anywhere guaranteed to be followed by Good old traditional southern gossip and tall tales. If you don’t leave with a smile on your face I will eat my proverbial hat.
