I think your memory is faulty on this one, Jo. We did look into it and found they were available back then (I recall this because I was surprised). Not widely, but available. And though they might have been expensive I somehow doubt you would have had to be "very very wealthy" to buy them. Incidentally, soft contact lenses were introduced for sale in 1971. Quote Thanks. 377, I am too tired lately to try to find this stuff. As you know I insisted yrs ago the 727 was jumped in the 60's because of something Duane had told me over the yrs. You and others thought I was nuts until I believe Snowmman found the video and produced it on this thread. Find that video for the guys and remember even you thought I was imagining this - that it didn't happen. You were the 1st one to admit that I was right and Snowmman proved it. This video showed them dumping things out of the aft stairs and the jumpers going out. Seems like memories are short around here when - newbie show up. Problem with Braden was the contact lens theory. We had a long discussion about this before and it was concluded that in 1971 - colored contact lens where basically unheard of. Since I myself wore some of the 1st contact lens (hard ones), I do NOT believe it was possible unless it was a very very wealthy person on the cutting edge of technology. Perhaps someone should vest some time into researching Contact Lens technology in 1971. Since I think it is highly improbable and I am a poor researcher of trivia - will leave that up to you guys. Actually, it's about time both of you go. So here's what's going to happen. Blevins is going to be banned for the personal attack. How many gallies were on 305? Was there only one midway through the cabin? Was there even a galley in the rear? (or the front)? 305 was 727-100. Gray's reference mentions no galley (front or rear) and food all over seats ... My guess is the Continental diagram applies to 305 and is the correct version - so any reference to a rear galley (whatever the source) is wrong. I do NOT remember the airlines but remember I have flown very little in my life. We flew a 727 out of Miami - in the 80's. There WAS a galley in the back. I flew a 727 in 2007 from P-cola or Ft. Walton to Atlanta. There WAS a galley in the back. That one I remember very very very well. My back and restless legs meant I had to stand when ever I could. The REAR Galley near the door is where I stood. That was a real real old bucket of bolts I was on in 2007. 377 didn't think I was on a 727, but that is what the 2 pilots hitching a ride told me. They also told me about how high we were. I was on my way to a funeral in Ohio. All of that is in this thread someplace. I was also on a 727 out of Denver to Atlanta in 1979 or 1980. This was the flight Duane hid from the stewardess. That also is in this thread. I don't remember noting the Galley on that flight. This thread is a good example of how the FBI missed Cooper. Too many researchers going too many different ways and NOT one of them has access to all of the Cooper files nor sufficient infomation on suspects ...to get a clear picture. They FBI almost had Cooper - but they didn't put a lid on the Money and the press in 1980 so Cooper was able to successfully slip through their fingers ONE more time. Question since your father disappeared in 1971 - do you know if he had a broken arm and burns. Seems like this is something you would know, but I don't remember the history on your father and your siblings and the other set of siblings. Please refresh the backgound on Melvin Wilson for all of us. Date and known activities and location until 1971 - at least what little you know. A simple outline like that might help others to fill in the blanks. What got my attention was the Salt Lake and 727. I had found some information on this yrs. ago looking for the name of woman - who I thought would been the mother of Duane's daughter. Since I never knew her last name - that search was for ought. I had the complete passenger list on that flight at one time. I forgot who helped me find that information and hope I still have it - as it might not be available anymore. I do not even know where to look in all of these massive files I have acquired. I remember I was looking for motive - because of something Duane said I could never quiet put my finger on...but, it was in reference to someone dieing in a plane crash - a woman. Salt Lake was mentioned. Your bringing this to surface again because of Melvin Wilson is shear coincidience, but it make me want to revisit that list. Won't be as good as having the original magazine article from the safety deposit box, etc., but if the writer is the same John Mullins that is the real-life / author / veteran / black ops guy that the character in the Soldier of Fortune game is based on, he can probably be contacted for dates of when the article originally came out - if that is something you want to know. For some reason he placed this issue in a safe deposit box in January of 1995 before he died...NOTHING ELSE WAS IN THAT BOX. He had opened the box in March of 1990. I do NOT know where the things are that I saw in March of 1990. The ticket I didn't see until 1994. The 1994 find was in the box with the taxes for 1990 and this was the first time I saw the ticket. I had seen the stub and the bag in 1990. I only found the safe deposit box because of a key and receipt in his wallet. We had our own personal joint safe deposit box. I had to take the key, the receipt and death certifcate and marriage certificate and will to the bank. Since I was not on the account I was NOT allowed to be in the room when it was opened. When they handed me a magazine - can you not imagine MY surprise. I asked them again - if they were sure there was NOTHING else in that box. Remember at the time I DID NOT know who DAN COOPER WAS. He tried to tell me and he wanted us to go for a ride - he had to show me something. This was was about 4 or 5 days before he died. I may still have my journal and give you exact dates. I dressed him and both nights - there were horrible rains - I couldn't get him to the van. They had OK'ed me to take him for a ride. He begged me to take him even in the rain and wind - but there was NO way. I couldn't get him in and out of the van and I couldn't even get to the van...to bring it around so the orderly could help get him in. After I found out who Dan Cooper was - I contacted the Editor of the magazine -Robert Brown who also is now deceased. He told me the Mullins family would have the pictures and they had NONE on file in their office. I wanted to know who the men where in one of the pictures in that magazine. He also told me this was a reprint of the same article done in other magazines. Some where I have my notes of that conversation and can provide more details of that discussion. of anyone is interested. The Soldier of Fortune had also printed this or a similiar article by John Mullins in prior yrs. The article centers around Bu Dop and all of you remember those discussions. The title of this particular article is "The Man Who Held The Secrets" I only kept the book because it was just strange...that he left only this in the safe deposit box. Even after I found out who Dan Cooper was - it was a long time before I pulled this magazine from the momento box. I sent the information to CARR but got NO WHERE and the same with Agent Hope. I am just this crazy old woman no one really ever listens to...and according to one person - a liar and I am making all of this up. There is NO WAY this simple woman could possible make all of this shit up. THere is NO way I would have spent the last 15 yrs doing this if I did NOT know what I know...I don't have all the pieces. Orange: Go back and check - I never outed anyone - NOT sure I am the one who outed Knoss, but if I am aren't you glad that is over. As for Georger - that was someone else - not me. JT makes all sorts of accusation. Claimed I was friends with Green and also claimed Green was another party. Hell, I don't know who Green is. JT even tries to make my private information public. That is dangerous...note how he hints at it all of the time. The tape offer he made to the media was the last straw for me after he threatened to come to my home and to confront the senior center and local media. And you think that does not cause enough stress to put an old woman in the ER or the Dr.s office. Think again! I am actually a very private person in my area. I never let anyone get close outside of my long time friends of yrs. and yrs. It was embarassing for me to have to contact the law when JT was threatening me - prior to that only my attorney knew what was going on. Lots of people come to this thread out of curiosity and/or if they had a relative or old friend they thought might have been Cooper. Look at all who came here for the reason I just spoke of. Where else do you go - the FBI won't listen to you. Vickie, Jamie, Myself, Knoss - this has been their only decent informational outlet. Some come and go. After viewing the thread some get HOOKED - like Vicky - she will be here till the day the Thread ceases to exist. Everyone likes her and Everyone would like to help her find a solution. This is why I am on this thread. Individuals who can and will give correct answers about the different theories put forth. 1. The aft stairway - did NOT cause the cabin to be trashed. 2. There was NO real tubulence on that flight. 3. The crew would know when Cooper stepped onto the aft stairs. 4. The galley was not trash , but things thrown around. Causes most likely: 1. Tantrum 2. Searching for provisions 3. Turbulence cause by Crew when they knew Cooper was on aftstairs. The normal lay person like myself likes all 3. I have a suspect - one I lived with for 17 yrs. So I will make statements only as it might apply to Duane Weber. 1. Subject had a temper when provoked. As Georger state many moons ago this may have been attributed to the PDK. 2. Subject was Child-like sometimes - so much so it was endearing. 3. Subject would have thrown out things he touched - hence the chute, but I do not understand why he left behind cords he cut. 4. Reviewing statements made to me by one of the crew - I think Georger is right. Once Cooper stepped onto that aftstair - they tried to dump him. 5. Would this have caused him to die in the jump? The crew had hoped so. 6. Why is all of the above relevant to me and why is it shouting at me? 7. When that money was found in Feb of 1980 (only 5 months after he and I had made what I call the "Sentimental Journey") did they know that Cooper survived.. 8. Tina Mucklow lived in Gresham in 1980 and went into a convent after the money find. 9. Why did she do this - because only after the money find did they realized that Cooper did survive. 10. How did they know he survived? Because they knew he did NOT leave that plane over the Columbia. 11. Why did my witness claim they crossed the Columbia - EAST of the Portland Airport if it was actually West of the Airport. That plane was EAST of the airport when it crossed the Columbia....and I think you guys if you can add 2 and 2 know now that was true. 12. Why was there a period of silence on the recordings? YOU know why - because they were talking about what to do when Cooper hit the aft Stairs. 13. They didn't want this recorded - as the pilots may have been acting on their own. Maybe NOT. 14. Most important - they did NOT know Cooper had survived until the money was FOUND. 15. For me this explains Duane Weber's nightmare - when he woke up grasping with his hand into thin air and screaming at the top of this lungs "I left my print on the aft stair". If he had made a controlled descent down the aft stairs - he would have been able to make sure he left NO prints. Since the tubulence cause him to grab at some part of the aft stair - he always feared he left a print. 16. Is that dream why - I have walked thru doors no one else has over the yrs? Georger, you are full of surprises. I have to admit the post explaining the Galley was very very interesting. Your experience with Gray is similar to my own experience. I also feel there is something he held back - keys to the next book maybe? At least that is the feeling I got. I do know that his time spent with Knoss cost him an interview with the Co-pilot. I was the one who was chose to deliver the message to him when he came to my home. In other words Bill told me to tell Gray to stop calling him. I delivered the message, but I hink Gray already knew he had screwed up with the co-pilot. Bill R. is a very very nice guy. I think Gray hit Knoss because he was going for sensationalism and it back fired because like myself and my guy - we could NEVER verify anything Knoss told me. Such as he claimed Duane's wife was arrested - and it was in the papers. We found no arrest and no evidence she was an apt manager there. Duane and MJ were only there about 6 wks. Everything Gray and I and my guy checked out went to Zeroville. One thing about knoss's story still haunts me - the Indian Song. Never figured that one out. Maybe I inadvertantly told Knoss about the song. The Galley Story fit something else I have learned from individuals who actually saw the plane go over (well heard it). One did claim to see lights above the haze and that the plane was very low. (1 out of 7). I have dotted the planes route by witnesses. If they actually heard the 727 - it puts that plane coming near Cougar and close to St. Mt. Helens. Maybe they were Dumping the body? You Think? As good a guess as you will get out of me....if they did dump Cooper - why wasn't he found? That rear galley is just to the right of the aft stairway. Makes sense there would be turbulence near the opening of the aft way.l The place card was dislodged so undoubtedly other things flew up and out and around.
