IF that money had been on that beach prior to the late FALL of 1979 it would have been found or uncovered by cattle and the fishermen and children and adults who frequented that beach over and over. Nope.. it did not wash out even during the big flood in the winter of 1996... although I will say we have had a hell of a lot of 100 year floods in the last 30 years around there. What-ever flood they were talking about was after 1980 and Mr. H and Mr. Fazio where having a private conversation about his. Mr. Fazio mentioned that the water level coming to the tree line in to the yard and over the beach - I did not get the impression any damage was done to the home or the property. It was DEFINITLY a recent flood of no major concern and did it apply to the found money. Just two old acquainces talking about something that had happened since they last saw each other. Jo, Are you talking about the channel between Caterpillar Island and the NW Lower River Road? Perhaps you should take some pictures and makes notes if you make another trip like this. Number one I thought that was Caterpillare Island from the conversations going on at the site in 2001 (but the COOPER seekers keep talking about this drain ditch that I did NOT see in 2001). I want to see a picture of this 'trench' or drain field they talk about. There WAS nothing like that there when I was there in 2001 with the TV crew - if there was SUCH a thing - surely it is on the film! Was this trench there in 1980 when the money was found? I don't know. Was it there in 1979? Would I have been able to see it from the road in 1979? Are the RESEARCHER POSITIVE there was a trench there in 1980 when the money was found. How large is this drain ditch or trench that it could carry money from one location to another? All of this is puzzling to me and surely someone has land pictures of the site - not just the aerials. Did Cooper put on gloves at any given time - no one has ever mentioned this that I am aware of? Jo, You don't have to put on gloves to conceal your fingerprints. Even in 1971, it was common knowledge that putting such things as model airplane glue on your finger tips, and allowing it to dry, would conceal the prints. Ask any kid who has built model airplanes. One of them has just written the above. Robert99 I wasn't implying Cooper put on gloves - I am asking if he did? You mentioned the plane glue and I have talked about the emory cloths. Those discussions went hand in hand and I remember both of them. Right now my thinking is the model airplane glue and emory cloths go hand in hand....the were both in the kits in the 1960's.

I did NOT grasp what the HELL you guys were talking about - I will REPEAT if that was a retention trench - one would think during a flood it would have carried enough force to wash the curved area of Tena's completely out including & probably taking the trees and the house. If that was a Trench - it was navigatable water large enough for boats and deep enough for boats. This inlet and water was EAST - excuse me if that is not the direction (but back toward Vancouver) might be a better way for me to say it. Definitely not what one would consider a TRENCH and it curved with the beach just like the river. There seemed to be a jag of land there and on the other side of this jag was the wide river. It appeared this inlet of water was just a part of the river to me... That area was way down the river and East (back toward Vancouver) of the fenced equipment area. It seemed to be an Island to me and no one explained it. A hell of a rerention ditch - too wide to be a retention ditch and too deep...but I am talking about 2001 - What did it look like in 1979 - just curious as I did not go down to the water at that point in 1979. 2001 at the beach looking back at the house was the trees, a fence, then a yard and the back of the house. The gate would be to my right from the beach. On my right I saw nothing that looked like a retention ditch. What I did see was a curved beach are that got woody with the tree roots exposed and that was pretty wide and I thought it was part of the river. If I remember correctly Fazio explained the roots became exposed during a flood, but I do not remember when he said that flood was....but I think it was after 1979. That water and that area did NOT appear to be a TRENCH. In the area of these roots that were up against what I would have considered shore line the water was deep - definitely NOT what I call a trench. I think of a trench as something shallow and narror. This inlet was NOT narrow in 2001 - to me it was part the river but NO one explained to me what it was. Like I said - I wish I was an artist and I could draw what I saw. Here are some photos beginning with a 2008? photo with ditch marked with yellow arrows - the find location red arrow. So I went back to those usgs photos, 1970-79, and the only 1980s photo I have. The ditch is there in Sluggo's 1980s photos but is it there before 1980? Im really not sure! Thank You for the pictures but they do NOT help me. What I am looking for are pictures of the front of the house, the parking area and then the view from the river bank looking back at the house (I only saw the back of the house when I went out there in 2001). The arials of course are NOT what I saw with my eyes. 1. Pictures of the parking area. 2. Pictures (dated) of the front of the house as taken from the parking area above the gate. Especially 1979 and 1980 when the money was found. 3. Pictures taken from the shore line in 2001 and 1979 that show the site, the trees and the back of the house. 4. From the beach area (2001) looking back at the house from the beach there was what I called a tributary or inlet of water (there was even a small old wooden boat there in 2001),I enquired about and the person I address didn't have an answer. It is important I see the trees and the house as they appeared in 1979 and 2001. I could look at those pics you posted forever, but there is NO WAY I can visualize what I saw from those, but THANK YOU very much for the effort. Perhaps the Fazio's will be the only ones tohave such photos other than the county appraiser over the yrs. I expect the old pics are taken down from the County Records - but I sure do need to see those pics. I know that Mr. H's book had photos of the dig site, but that is not what I need to see. That TV crew who took me there might have footage of the front and back, but I never saw it just as I have not viewed it. Surely over the yrs someone took pictures of that place from the river and from the road - and the gate just below that. I wish I was an artist and could draw what I saw. ALL I have is my memory and over the yrs that has even become tainted by other information that clouds ones memories - besided age and stress. I vividly remember the front of the house and the gate and the area we parked. When I was there in 2001 the trees in the parking area had grown a lot. The trees down on the beach that I could see in 1979 - one specifically near the shed was a decent size. In 2001 the shed was NOT there, but some trees remained. It was too many cameras and too many questions - I wish I had taken my own pics, but my camera was too heavy to think about packing. Should have could have bought a cheap camera but I didn't think about it, ONE PIC - the first one was all I could make heads or tails out of but it does not give me the position of the house and gate and parking area. [reply Keeping it simple ala FF, I did a quick search for "Cooper" just in the skydiving History & trivia forum. The first mention of Cooper, DB Cooper, was Nov 3, 2000 in a post by jtval. That thread meandered along with relatively few posts a year until it was revived Jan 28 2006 by Orange1. There were other familiar posters on that original thread also, including Skyjack. She first posted to that thread on Nov 12, 2006 about Duane, then she started a new thread (the 68 page one preceding this one) Nov 21, 2006 cause she "kept getting lost" trying to post. If you are talking about the 2001 trip to WA - yea, I kept getting lost because the crew actually drove so fast it wa scary and there were too many things coming at me at one time - and I kept getting lost trying to piece together what I knew and sort out the FAKE stuff JT had been filling my head with for 5 yrs on the phone. I didn't know which way was going which way - I was as confused as the first part of this sentence. It would only be my last day in WA in 2001 that someone actually helped me to reconstruct the trip - but I only had one day to do it in - so I had to come home. It would be 9 yrs before I could afford to go back on my own to explore and to sort the memories out - is this what you are talking about. WHY don't you get your A-- in a plane and come talk to ME - Perhaps if YOU see what ALL I have accumulated you will understand why I might FEEL LOST. This could denote someone who knew where stuff was on an NWA flight, but not necessarily on a smaller 727. Knows where the O-2 is, but not how to open the stairs. Perhaps from experience on one of the larger overseas-route jets? Just saying.

Louie I really agree with that statement and I have to add that even though there are those who think I am a liar - I have told the same story for 17 yrs plus about the house and the gate and the trees. The house someone put on the site with a map didn't look right - not what I saw in 1979 and May of 2001. In 2001 it had changed and that bugs me - I did NOT go back in 2010 as I ran out of money and time. I am wondering how different thing looked between Late Sept of 1979 versus Mid May of 2001. I never contacted the Fazio's for pictures and things - I just went by what the media produced and what I saw 1979 versus 2001. When I was there in 2001 w/a TV crew - something was NOT right and I got upset - something did NOT feel right and no one would let me think - too many questions fired at me and I needed quiet and peace to think and to remember. It was just too hectic. If Cooper hid money in WA - why did he do that? Was he only able to make it out with what he could put into his pockets? That strange trip to see Richard (Paperlegs) Petersen in Landon WY figures into this some way, but just how ????? That trip was after we went to WA in 1979 if my memory serves me (the only way of knowing for sure is to find out when the road closed between Rock Springs and Cheyenne due to a blizzard we got trapped by. Damn I just remembered something else - I asked Duane if he got to see the man, but he said he left something for him...I remembered this briefly in the past, but forgot about it in all the yrs of seeking - I told this to the thread, but never to the FBI because they just wouldn't talk to me - most of the time all I could do was leave a message and I doubt they even listened to the recording or if the recordings where blanks and I was talking to myself. Old woman has rambled on enough for now - no one cares but me so I don't know why I bother. Everyone chooses to think or believe I just made all of this SHIT up. Hell I don't know -I just try to tell what I know and hope someone - anyone with put it together and help me put an end to this quest. I remembered something about the place Duane took me that I believe to be Tena's bar. (would love to see some pictures of the front of the house from 1979 or 1980). Duane pointed across the water from the parking lot after he got back to the area I was waiting for him....He stated as he pointed across the river and told me he used to know a man who lived in the area across the way - all I saw was low land and sky. What area could he possibly have been pointing at? What would have been his reason of saying anything or going to the river by himself. In 1979 - the money had not been found at Tena's bar and I knew nothing about Cooper. If he did NOT have a connection to the area - WHY did he go there and Why did he take me to specific places? Perhaps it is a combination of the conversations going on and the fact that I feel REALLY LOUSY tonight - I am reflecting on that part of the trip and the QUESTION just popped into my mind. The question gave me a really very sick sick feeling and I do not understand why. I want you guys to know that I speak from my gut and my heart right now and I am not playing any kind of game with this question. I need an answer to this question - one I have never asked myself or anyone else - WHY that location? What was Duane's connection to that specific location? Why would he choose that place to go to and then the dam money show up in the area 8 months later. TOO odd that the places Duane took me all had connections to the past and to Cooper. A man he used to know - Who was that man - was it himself? I doubt Duane was that philosophical so it has to be a simple answer. So many questions that would be so easy to answer if only we knew Duane's locations in the area from 1945 to 1949... If he was encarcerated it sure was a liberal encarceration and he seemed like the memories were GOOD memories - like they were the highlight of his life and yet he told me so little - basically nothing - like when he mentioned flying into and out of certain little airports in the area. I forgot the statement he made as we were in OR going past the location not too far from the Redmond airport. It had "guys" in it and something "he couldn't talk about". I have told the story about the Redmond area before, but tonight I just do not feel well enough to try and remember anymore. Hope someone can fill me in on some reasons right now - What was his connection to the Tena Bar area and who was the man.In my memory I think he said a name, but I can't pull it out. He mentioned an area, but again I can't pull it out of my memory.... This memory is giving me such a sick feeling....I have heard that in stressful times one recalls things they thought they had forgot...they seen thing in their mind they thought they had forgot. Behind and above the Ingram find was a retention ditch on Fazio's property. Rain washed things into that ditch which at least on paper had the potential to contaminate evertyhing below and down-flow of it. Is there evidence of the retention ditch and its contents in the money, in that agri setting?” QUESTION: Was not the trench from the Retention pond - WEST of the money find? (Perhaps this should state on the opposite side of the house from the gate? No wonder NO one GOT it! The tributary I saw if that was the drain ditch as viewed from the river looking toward the back of the house was on my left. Jo, You do understand that the Columbia River runs almost straight north and south at the Fazio property don't you? "Downstream" is to the north and "upstream" is to the south. The NW Lower River Road runs north and south also. Presumably, you are referring to the parking lot by the sand operation which is south of the driveway to the house. Robert99 Since I don't live there I did NOT know that and just never even thought about it. Perhaps why some who do live there didn't understand what I was saying. So since you seemed to know the location - please assist me with this. No wonder NO one understood what I was trying to say. The location we parked was behind the gate at its location in 1979.... I assumed that looking out from that point looking out at the river I was looking South..but was it DEAD WEST at that point? In other words looking across the river from the old gate of 1979 - the house was to the right but further toward the river than the place we parked. Someone help me out with this. Thank You -

QUESTION: Was not the trench from the Retention pond - WEST of the money find? When I was out there in 2000 I could see a tributary or ditch to the West of the House and to the West of the money find. Perhaps that little tributary or drain ditch was NOT the retention ditch you guys are talking about. IF it was the money had to go against the current! I do know that the map someone presented was NOT accurate as to the way the property appeared from the river in 2000. I disputed this but NO one heard me because JT was down my throat. The shape of the house on the map presented was not the shape of the house I saw on the river and the parking area was East of the house with the road being North of the house. I WOULD agree if I had NOT been with him that fall morning of 1979 - Last wk of Sept or first wk of Oct. I will swear to this until the day I die. I have forgotten little of that trip. Then over the yrs there is very little conversation regarding Cooper other that the mention of another person being shot and killed. He was smart enough NOT to let me read Mr. H's book and made NO mention it was about a SKYJACKING in WA. Just said - "Nothing you would be interested in - just an old HIjacking". The book disappeared and I had NO idea what it was about until 1996. Then several months later Mr. H mailed me a copy of his book and the cover just stood out at me! I am only interested in the one with the Code sent to the Reno paper and the one mailed from Oakdale. The one with the CODE was verified, but the employee of the paper could NOT find the original nor the source of the story. He assumed it had been sent to the FBI. I have this man's name in my old files and I think I posted it at one time. It would be in the post when I gave the date of the publication. He man could only verify such a note had been received.
