Duane Weber is a mystery even to me - a woman who shared his life for 18 yrs. When you stated his reputation was not worth fifty cents - you could not be more wrong. Duane touch a lot of lives for the better and he harmed a lot of lives. His employers praised him and so did his friends. An ex-wife hated his guts and he hated hers - strange union I thought. Another wife loved him even when they separated. I tried to understand this strange union from 1962 to 1972 - and I talked to her from 1997 until her death in 2004. As one of her family said - she had a Jeykl / Hyde personality. I thought this VERY strange when the same expression was used to describe another individual related to another Cooper suspect...it was like we were talking about the same person. 377 stated: "You see Duane as a basically benevolent person and at times even a hero. I don't share your opinion of his character or his abilities". There are many in the past of Duane Weber who did consider him a hero. One young man - loved him, but also hated him. I will never forget the heart wrenching story I was told many yrs ago by this young man who was torn by his loyalty another person and to Duane, but also his resentment of both because of how the relationship harmed his life. Because of his fragil "situation" I stopped contacting him as it was not a good thing to do. I felt his torment - that first conversation which he instigated, left me crying for him and what he lived thru. He had contacted me because he wanted to help, but he could not get past his own emotional pain. Perhaps someday he will heal - but, I will never know, because I no longer have any contact with him and his family I often look at and HOPE they are doing well. What a beautiful family - and what a wonderful person. I pushed for more than he could offer and had to back away for his sake and the sake of his family. (He found me thru this thread and initiated the contact). I vowed then that should there ever be any profit to be derived from my search that a Secret Santa would make a special delivery. I do not expect that to happen in my life time, but at least he is in my thoughts and I actually have tears running down my face right now. I feel his pain. Most of the records Carr and the FBI has were generated from my home and by Doug and records we found. Duane was arrested in Jacksonville and had a gun? Why didn't Carr provide me with this and an explanation. Duane was an Insurance Agent - so this arrest sure must have been WHITE WASHED some way! I knew he had been arrested in Jacksonville for DRUNK DRIVING and possession of a gun (something that occurred when his step son was injured in Fl, but I didn't know Duane was a felon- he disclosed the DUI to me after he met me in 1977. Explain to me HOW a convicted felon with a gun and having committed another robbery managed to WALK away from that without going BACK to prison? Carr made a lot of claims on this thread he could NOT BACK UP! And when asked to produce his proof could NOT or would not do so. Duane was Tall and he could look very very ominous and mean. There were 2 guys I met from Duane's past but, the vibration from the individuals was of admiration and gratitude. One thanked him for all he did for him and I did not understand what that was all about. I did not suspect a prison factor as I knew nothing about Duane having been in prison until 1990 and then only learned about a few months in Jefferson and as John Collins. I would not know about the other prisons until yrs after I contacted the FBI. Remember they DENIED Duane was in certain "prisons". They chose the wrong prisons to base this claim upon - because they had no idea what the hell I knew and/or had found about Duane's past...I didn't find this stuff (a brilliant young man who came to my aid found the 'stuff' BEFORE it disappeared from the criminal files and the prison files). It was in Colorado Duane found she had been using pot and this little sencario was his way of putting an end to it. When he was in the hospital dying and she was several months pregnant she was there to say I love you. Whish my dad had been more like that. Hard to say to say Good by. Duane wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. The Army realized it right away. He has dozens of arrests and a pile of convictions that corroborate the Army's assessment: undesirable. Unable to perform. Lacking ability. Lacking character. So this same bumbling guy who cant even pull off a joyride or a purse snatch without getting caught conceives and executes the crime of the century and outwits the nations' top law enforcement minds. I think he was just running with the wrong crowed and on thing led to another. Duane probably even took the fall for others - it was how he was cut. Yet, he wanted to do better and he would give you the shirt off his back. He loved to play Santa Claus with some of the poor people I worked with. We would make Santa deliveries - We would take the packages to the door and then he would go back to the van and I would do my HO HO in my red jacket and Knock on the door and run run run. Actually that was fun fun fun. Kids and dogs - he knew just what they needed in love and discipline - never condesending. Never forget the smile on his face one night when he got to play a real daddy... He arranged to get possession of 3 bags - it was a friday afternoon. He walked in and asked me where my daughter was. She had her own apartment downstairs - living area , wet bar, bath, bedroom. We let her decorate it the way she wanted. There was a spare bedroom behind the bar, but she likes the other one which had pipes and looked like a dungeon, but that was the room she wanted made in to a bedroom and we did it. He layed the nickel bags down on the kitchen bar and some wrappers and a box of matches. He told me to tell her to come up stairs. He asked her about her plans for the weekend and then told her to cancel them. He said "you know what that is for now roll one for me and one for your mother and for me. She was dressed to die for going out. I refused the one made for me - but the two of them smoked theirs. The look on both of their faces told the story. It was a FATHER DAUGHTER STORY. Duane was a good father to her and taught her responsiblities and they like to play games - board games and card games. Of course she was grounded for 2 wks after I was told what she had been doing. Duane worked hard at his job and as far as I know he did not run around on me. He could be a goof ball and then be serious as a hard attack. As I said be fore I kept my money separate what little I had , but Duane did a good job with her as a DaD. When I would get mad at the two of them and I was getting readly to let them have it - it always came out Duwanna. I would be saying both of their name together of if they had been misbehaving. I believe he would have taken a bullet for her and so would I. I regret that Duane and I had to travel so much leaving her on her own for about 3 days. When it was possible I would stay in the area an work the local leads and let him go else where. All those yrs and the only thing he did that made me feel he was afraid was in Virginian Bch, Va. Every time we went into a restuarant he was looking all around like he was looking for someone - later I knew he was worried about being found out as some of his Johnny Collins friends supposedly lived in the area. But after a while he was comfortable with it. We made some friends - just casual, but we usually did everything together. We bought a travel trailer and used that to work some of the coastal areas and to have some fun. He was an ordinary insurance salesman making good money and then opening his own office ahd having 8 guys working under him all over the state. Had his own Office and meeting room the company rented. He was at his best during that time. The one bad thing that happened in VA- he came home drunk on night and he was crying and telling me he was responsible for some one dying. I though maybe he had been in an auto accident - but the car was ok. He was crying and saying "Its my fault, he tried to copy me and Its my fault he died." I have NO idea what he was rambling about...he was drunk - very drunk. A few yrs after we moved to FL he die and it was in that last yr. he started to say other things that did not make sense. I would just look at him and ask him what he had been drinkin? Showin me his hand and a scar he had, talking about Weber Bread and something else named after him - I pop off with Weber grill. He tried to tell me about something on a plane - I just didn't get it. He tried to tell me what he had done on that night, but I wasn't ready for it and he didn't really know how much time he had left....so the dicussion ended. The drunk fell asleep with my petting his head. When you saw Duane you saw Symba - our poodle. Duane had insecurities about meeting new people in the Pensacola area - we owned a home and I had a job - I expect if someone had recognized him he would have been on the run. He was real concerned about a man who came into the shop who was a Private detective....the man was just a collector and they actually made friends - retired military. Since Duane got into the Army by fraud, which was soon discovered, and then booted out, there is a very real possibility that legally speaking, Duane was never in the Army. When Duane wrote the letter to his mother he was in the Chemical Warfare - I have given the intitials that were on the letter before but feel to poorly tonight to dig it up. He thanked his mother for washing his clothes and asked her to send him his watch. Somewhere in this thread I posted segments of the letter. Note that Duane's Uncle was in Chemical Warfare during WW1 and then called back to duty when the Balloon Bombs came in. The uncle served several wks doing this for UNCLE SAM. Without the letters and the other information infront of me I can't remember much right now. BUT, it is all in prior post if you are interested. I know what I saw and I know what Duane told me and I know what I found and I know the FBI lied to me (WHY?). At least MY ACCOUNTING is first person and not he said or she said. I did not and am encapable of putting together something for 17 yrs and being consistent. My goal has been to find the truth - and I spent 17 yrs of my life with this man...one who was my husband and who made a confession I did not understand. " I'm Dannn Coooper?" I wish to hell I had never learned who Dannn Cooooper was - the last 18 yrs life would have been much easier and much more productive. I actually proved the FBI lied to me and to this day I do NOT understand how the agent could make those kinds of mistakes if they had genuinely investigated Weber. The thread itself found information on WEBER the FBI didn't find. There are too many holes in the FBI's investigation of Weber.! It is time for the FBI to prove Weber WAS not Cooper and not the other way around. IF they had PROOF Weber was NOT Cooper they would have presented it by now. The only official information they gave me was a letter in 1998 saying he was dismissed on finger prints. Finger Prints the agent told me were taken from a prison FILE. Then in 2000 this same agent told me Weber was NEVER a resident of THAT prison. He also told me My husband was NEVER in the Army. That is what OUR FBI? To borrow the express used in reference to me - "Houston, we have a problem". The GOVERMENT never admits when they have made mistakes. It is time to make things right. A lot of human waste has gone down the river in the last 17 yrs with the different organizations within the departments of our governing organization in the USA. The system is so polluted there is NO recovery in site - and perhaps they need to take a few steps back and look at the image America is portraying to the world. Major SKYJACKING still unsolved after 40 yrs? The 1st Lady doesn't want an admired and successful business woman to visit the White House because she has a negative opinion about this person. A government whose politicians and other governing organization can't avoid temptation nor manage their own private affairs. Everyday when you pick up the paper or listen to the news - for the past few yrs it has been one corruption after another, crime is rampant and children killing children - What Happened to America? When 11 yr olds and 6 yr olds can destory public property with NO consequences - what will they be doing when the are 21 and 26? You can lay odds they won't be productive citizens. THE BAG HE THREW INTO THE COLUMBIA FROM BEHIND THE RED LION WAS TOO LARGE TO FIT IN HIS JACKET POCKET. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO DESCRIBE THE BAG. Larger than the small bags used for sandwiches or candy - I have explained it as a large lunch bag or one that would hold ice cream but the top was rolled tightly over - the fold at the top was rolled over about 3 times...so it was obvious the bag was NOT full. He was still in the car when I got out to do the errand he sent me on. The bag was there when I exited the car and he had told me earlier it was just trash. He told me he would be around back and that is where I went and when the bag was thrown into the water - because I asked him what he was looking at. He said that bag going down the river. I could not see the bag as I am near sited and it was out of my site range. The bag when I first saw it was on our way to the Red Lion so I expect when he got back into the car he had taken it from his side near the door or from under the seat. The first time and only time I saw it it was on his side and near his right foot. He did NOT leave me alone with the bag and if he had I was disciplined enought NOT to look in it. THAT is how I am! At this time I will explain something else. When we moved from VA to AL and in 1988 I There was an envelope taped under his desk on the backside of the desk behind the center drawer - he came in just as I spotted it. He accused me of snooping, but some papers I was working on had got caught in the drawer and fell behind the drawer so I had to remove the drawer. He accused me of snooping and I explained what I was doing and did NOT mention what I had seen. What did I see - an evelope taped to the back side of the desk and with scribbles over the seal. I never got to see the contents...because I did SNOOP as I went back to this the next time I was alone in the house - the envelope was GONE. Now YOU GUYS know something I have NEVER told before. I expect the contents of that envelope would end up being what was found in the hidden wallet in the Van - which I sold after he died in 1995. There WAS more than ONE stop on the RIVER and YOU are the one who mixes them up. HOW MANY TIME DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS TO YOU. 1. FIRST Stop on river. Duane tells me to stay in the car (this was the location EAST of Winterly Park). It is early morning. He pops the trunk and goes DOWN a slope to the river. I am getting restless and was getting OUT of the car when he comes up the slope. He pops the trunk and puts the shovel in it before I can get completely OUT of the car. NOTE I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HE DID WHEN HE WENT TO THE RIVER AT THAT TIME. 2. The SECOND stop was at a large green tank and we both got out of the car and walked around. 3. We go WEST of the Interstate we had taken to Vancouver. This is when we made another stop I later found to be Tena's bar - He leave me in the CAR and goes down to the river. HE DID NOT HAVE A SACK IN HIS HAND. I have told that if he had anything it had to have been in his jacket pocket (windbreaker with a fuzzy lining). I do NOT mention a paper sack in relation to Tena's bar.

Actually think there should be someone from the thread and has kept abreast of what goes on here. One would think someone in the Portland and Vancouver area would be interested - but, I get the feeling this is just a big drinking fest of some sort. A journalist from the area is a good shot. He might want to go just to do a story and if we provided him with the fodder (information) to blow her story that would be a plus. I expect there are NO MORE investigative reporters the way it used to be. Now they go out and do a report on something and then they only move on. NO one wants to write about OLD stuff anymore.... This thread and a couple of internet places is as PUBLIC as I have gone since 2001 other than my trip in 2010 for 15 days. I didn't let the FBI or Cooper searcher know I was there until I the day I flew out. Sluggo almost let the CAT out of the BAG, because I emailed him and posted while on the road at the hotels providing a computer and free access. Of course I had to wait my turn, but that was a good thing (was afraid I would say something that would give my location away). Beautiful country thru Oregon, Idhao and WA - it rain most of the time I was there and I got sick a couple of days and even on a good day I was only good for about 5 hours. Sluggo had offered to go with me - but, I wanted NO negative vibrations and it was SOMETHING I had to do for my own peace of mind. Actually thought I would come home and be able to wash Cooper out of my hair, but the trip only made my memories even more vivid. The things I found that JT told me did NOT exist - made that trip worth while. I knew I was NOT making these places up - I remember what I see and I have always been that way (not every detail just the highlights) The trip was enlightening as my memory had not taken into account time and space. Just the visual memories of the places he took me and talked about. Several times I almost gave up but I pushed forward and then I would see something I remembered. I had NO idea he had taken me as far North as he did on that trip in 1979, but it was all there. I never found the place where the tower had been and I believe if I had found that I could have busted the case wide open. I believe the area was just going into the development stage in 1979 and the tower had been removed because it probable was abandoned and was an endangerment to hikers, hunters and/or kids who would venture into the area. (Finding the location of that tower would have answer so much up about Weber's background - who he worked for and what yrs he was there). That alone would have proved the FBI did NOT investigate Weber's background sufficiently. The fact that he took me much further north than my mind could concieve on a map was a hinderance and I did NOT realize this until the last few days of the trip. I should have stayed and have confronted the FBI, but I will never get to do so now. Between the expense of such a trip and my health it is not feasible. Georger, what side of the bed are you getting up on. Evidently it is the wrong side regardless of what side you sleep on. Perhaps Blevins stating 1974 was in error - as NO ONE knows how that money got there. You keep saying there will be a symposium in 2014 - It is scheduled for 2013 NOT 2014. As for Grey backing Marla - who and what gave you that idea? As far as I know she has NOTHING to do with the Symposium in 2013. If the symposium actually comes down - I expect a lot of people will be disappointed. This constant bickering over nothing is NOT helping the Cooper what-ever at all. In fact most of the posts recently have been self defeating. Can't we all work together and get some sensible questions to be posed to Marla so WE can do the pros and cons on her the way we have all done Blevins and what little we know about Marla from the media and from the shindig last year. My story has been taken apart and examined many times over the last 17 yrs. The same needs to be done to her story - but her story is so BLATANT that most of the answers are obvious. Blevins is not as bad as Marla - he does repeat the same things over and over, but [u when he is TRYING to be objective, but you go haywire for some reason. Chill - you have made mistakes in posting dates, I have made mistakes and Blevins does. Most of us are thinking OFF the top of our heads and we have come to think in generalities - but, don't go ballistic over a detail that is incorrect to begin with...on your part and his part. I was the one to start a campaign for questions to be asked of Marla. Surely you have a couple. I will have to reduce the questions to make them as short as possible and I do hope I end up with a volunteer to ask the questions and record them. If you guy get them to me very soon - I will do the best I can to get someone there. A good candidate would be 377...if his wife will let him go. Otherwise we will have to depend on a journalist and hope he records her answers, but it is my understanding some things cannot be recorded other than public speakers on the podium. Then we end up with the writer's interpretation of her answer. Blevin is too visible and too bias, so it needs to be someone with NO DOG in this hunt. The individuals I know in WA are too old to make the trip. Please help with some questions even if there is no one to go there and confront her.
