Just below the tree line - whatever the tree line was in 1980. Some have been destroyed and some are still there and all different ages. If you look at the old pictures of the existing trees in 1980 when they found the money - then it is pretty easy to figure out the tree line as it was in 1980. What I found strange about this designation was that one does not build a fire under the tree branches. Of course when I was on the beach with Himmelsbach in 2001 the trees had grown considerably - therefore the site was outside of the tree foilage in 1980. Himmelsbach even noted how many feet from the fence the find was. ALL of this is recorded and bet you Georger know how many feet from the fence. None for me other than something about a shed. I knew I had been there and Duane mentioned a box one could put money in at the entrance.. I didn't know the name of the place, but I told the FBI about it! Remember when I told Himmelsbach my story - I had only read ONE book - a mostly fictional book by Max Gunther! I thought he was informing the FBI about our conversations. The money find explained the places Duane took me. his little side trip alone while in The Dalles and his actions after the money surfaced in 1980 made sense.... Below is speculation on my part in 1996, but what I actually thought about all of this after I found out who Dan Cooper and my knowledge the money find occured only about 6 months after we had made those strange side trip in WA/OR in 1979. I read Himmelsbachs book and this is where I learned about the condition of the money. It was a GUT feeling that when he went to see "an OLD friend in The Dalles area" or within a drive range too and from of 5 1/2 hours - it was actually a trip to retrive the money from its hiding place. His comment about being soiled when he returned to the hotel was that the "lady" he went to see's husband had died and she asked him to move somethings in a shed....Who asks a quest to move some stuff ? He mentioned a leak and rotten wood. Sort of sounds like he might have buried the money beneath a shed floor. This was all discussed with Himmelsbach in 1996 - 1999, and I waited patiently because I thought the FBI was actually still investigating and Mr. H. was telling the FBI everything I talked about - HOW naive I was! It was hard to take things in and ask questions with the media there in 2001. I need to know if there was ever a shed on the river side along the tree line and on the beach side of the fence. Truth is, I can't remember if someone sent it to me, or if I found it on a search. I think it was sent to me. There are two main computers in this office, and a laptop. Also, one other computer which was taken off-line about a year ago and sits in the closet. That one is where all the Cooper files resided, although I transferred a great deal of them using a 16gb flash drive. Did a search on the main computer, the one I'm using now. No results. I did NOT keep up with old crimes - I had always been too busy making a living and providing for my family and being a good wife. Death-bed confessions I never said anyone was in the room and that the nurse heard his raised voice and came to see what was wrong and started the morphine. The time was 5 1/2 hours. Duane and I made NO stops on the Portland side. THe stops we made where on the Vancouver side. I am not needy or whiny - I am a strong woman and I have put up with a lot. Right now MY BLOOD is boiling. THE ONLY REASON ANY one came into the room was because DUANE said "Fuck, Let it die with me" and in a very very loud angry voice. The nurse came into see what was wrong. Duane made stops on the VANCOUVER side and HE did NOT go to the WATER on the Portland sided. The first stop on the return trip IN Portland from Seattle was a location West of the airport of of the EVERGREEN HWY across from the PDX but ON THE VANCOVER side. The stop was EAST of the Winterly Park. The second stop was at the GREEN TANK, THe 3rd stop was at Tina's bar and the 4 th stop was at the RED LION. Prior to getting to VANCOUVER was a side trip WAY before we got to VANCOUVER..... around Longwood we cross a very large bridge - over the OREGON side and when down to a small town where he went into a shop to see a woman he knew - The woman who had the antique store was not there and that is what he went to see this other woman about.. Then we went back NORTH and crossed that LONG bridge back over to the WA side and continued on into Vancouver. Bruce's comments about me are HOW myths are born and HOW people like him create MYTHS. When is anyone ever going to listen to me. The last wk of Sept 1979 Duane took me to 3 sites on the river and one of them was TENA's bar. Not one sole has ever addressed a small shed under the trees past the fence. Perhaps I IMAGINED ALL of THIS but I know me and I know I did NOT imagine what DUANE did. He instructed me to stay in the car, but I got out under the trees to stretch for just a moment. The way the crew approached Tena's bar threw me off as it was the OPPOSITE way Duane approached it. It was after I left Tena's Bar and we were headed back to Vancouver that I commented to Mr. H about the building and the road there seeming to be familiar, but I have NEVER BEEN heard and IF anyone heard me they IGNORED me. After WHAT I now know to be Tena's bar we made ONE last stop at the Red Lion and that is where DUANE threw the paper bag in the water. Because of the places he took me I believe he put money in 4 different place. I have told this before, but I will NEVER be heard. WHY the F do you guys think he did NOT want me to read the newspaper in Feb when it came out the money had been found. He knew HE had made that ONE statement about Cooper while we where in the LaCames area. Duane figured I would figure it OUT. THEN he makes sure before he leaves the area NOT to let me see the special on TV. He did something he had only done that ONE time in our marriage - HE made arrangements for US to go out WITH ANOTHER couple and I apologized to the woman who I had NEVER MET that I was sorry I was poor company. I was not used to going OUT in the middle of the WEEK and there was a special on TV I wanted to see. DUANE could NOT let me see that. He knew I put 2 and 2 together. WHY do you guys think he did NOT let me know his address or location when he left until it was time for my daughters graduation. Even then I did not have an address for him. The media was eating it up just like he expected them to and did NOT suspect Cooper was still alive. Problem was that he probably spent some of the money in late 1979 right there in the Ft. Collins area - and he did NOT know until the money was found that they had the serial numbers. He did NOT let me read that newspaper and he took it with him. He made sure I was busy and not exposed until he was safely away from the area. He did take me over to Omaha before he left and he went into a bank. He probably got a safe deposit box and paid it forward for 10 yrs with his John Collins ID. In 1990 his Collins ID had expired and he had to go to great extents to acquire one which he did - A real drivers licens with JOHN C. Collins and then he flew out of Tallahassee while he and Jim were on a suppposed 4 day market there. Jiw was left with the set up from Thursday until Sat. During this time there was a plane ticket (one way purchased on my credit card to Omaha). U just remembered it started with an O. CARR refused to check this out and the prior agent refused to check this out. NO one CARES but me who COOPER really was - you guys only want the fantasy. SEE what I mean - there was NOTHING complicated about this case other than the investigators making it complicated. IF they had checked out the Deposit box in 1996 when I contacted them, they would have found this. Carr said it took a government order of some kind to check this and he wasn't going to do it. ALL these YRS I handed this to the FBI on a silver plate, but NO one heard me. I was never sure if it was Omaha, NB or something Oklahoma. All I remember is the O. BUT looking at the map and without going back to the place and my memory of that day for him to conduct some business in a state he was NOT licensed in - and he was only there just a few minutes. JO is the ONLY PERSON to put the money on TENA's bar and IF the FBI had listened to me in 1996 - they would have found the safe deposit box under the name of JOHN COLLINS had been closed in the early part of 1990. HOW in the hell does anyone explain Duane's actions early in 1980.THERE is only one answer - Duane WEBER was JOHN COLLINS and he was DAN COOPER. John COLLINS maintained a safe deposit box which was opened in 1980 and closed in 1990. Then when he returns to Pensacola he open a safe deposit box under his name I had NO knowledge of until after he died. THE only damn thing in that box was that magazine with the jumper and a barrel between his legs. The magazine he put in the box was NOT the same magazine I had seen in his office at the shop. The one in the safe deposit box was dated 1994 - but, it was a message I did NOT understand. I did NOT know if anyone else had access to that box and maybe DUANE had taken the stuff out and put it in the VAN and why he was so DAMN worried about the VAN while he was in the HOSP. You make these accusations and I have no idea if he did or not -- but how do you know that comments made at the article under his "real Name" were made by him? Did Regina track back the IP address to Bob Knoss physical address? Or was it compared to his facebook posts or other posts made by him not just on that site? Just saying. I don't think you can say that he wrote something just because it has the same IP address as something that was posted by someone using the same name UNLESS you can prove that the original poster was him. Unfortunately anyone can appropriate any name to post comments to blogs and forums. Got no dog in this fight - just saying it seems like a big leap conclusion to me. I agree that it doesn't appear at first glance to have been written by a professional, but the writing style on the last B Smith letter doesn't match BK near as much as someone else that posts here occasionally. I also thought both of the posts or letters sounded like a couple of the posters here even after reading them over again.
