You are a REAL piece of work. You have NO concept about the type of work Duane did. Have U ever worked on commissions only or did you always just draw a pay check. I will assure you that Duane live much better than 10 in reported income after deductions. What U fail to grasp it that he spent more than that on 2 cars and trips - before March of 1972. He had go back to work - so why not do something that gave him flexibility. He knew he couldn't spend all of it - that someone would start looking into his source if he wasn't work. Bare in MIND Duane was a criminal but NO ONE has ever said he was lazy. The man LIKED to work - He lived to WORK like honest people. He had to constantly live his life looking over his shoulder because if they found he was an excon - he lost his job - WHY he resorted to being a repeat thief. If they did a backgound check or required prints - he was out of a job. Duane was a criminal but he was not completely stupid. He didn't have the formal training for certain jobs. I think I can take credit for his not ending up back in prison. Duane had WORK ethics, he just was NOT polished and with time and money he became everything he wanted to be...he learned how to be like normal people - he was able to move forward in his life. His moving forward came in 1984 and someday if anyone cares I will tell that story. It was the one time he wanted to tell me about his past that Christmas he finally got intouch with his sister. You have excuses for excuses! If you have them produce them, he is deceased. There IS only ONE logical reason you will NOT produce the SS or IRS records - that is because YOU don't have them and you never tried to get them. One can be assured that KC kept records on his income and his taxes paid each yr. Rental property he would NOT have to declare as that is NOT earned income. With rents - that is income, but NOT earned income and it is treated differently. One did not pay SS on investments such as rent. Social Security is paid on EARNED income - not on investments. I assume Jo was able to get the SS information as Duane's widow. RobertMBlevins could not get the same information on Christianson, could he? If Blevins was drawing SS benefits that would have been a report in his "well kept" files. Understand than NOT all commissions paid are subject to SS tax unless the individual is salaried. Being Self Employed involves overhead. Such as a person might make 50K in commissions, but after legitimate expenses are taken he will only pay SS on the remaining amount. I do NOT know if the law has changed, but that is the way it USED to be. My IRE is that Blevins changed SS report to IRS report and those ARE 2 very different animals in determining a persons income at any given time. Previously I posted about the 2 cars purchased in late 1971 or early 1972. ANY one have a clue how Weber purchased those cars with the income of 1971 - NOT posssible even in those days. I forget the cars now but I did post a pic that showed both car with his soon to be exwife who I blotted out! We all know he was arrested in Treasure Isle in 1957 and presumably was on parole since some income shows for that yr. 1958 /1959 - where the hell was he - probably in jail somewhere. 1960 he was in Canon. 1961 to 1967 he falls off the face of the EARTH....but supposedly in Jefferson in 1967 and part of 1968. This is based on earned income subject to SS - salesmen have expenses that come off the top over-head such as office expenses and auto. Unbelievable where the record goes after 1983 - off the charts for an excon selling insurance and that is after deductions. I look at the money he made between 1984 and 1987 before he got sick - NO DAMN wonder he was MANAGER of the YR. I thought something was wrong and pulled some old tax record. Also there is another GLITCH. 1981 the yr he takes a big dip. I wondered how we lived in 1980/1981. I was working- selling furniture, but didn't make a lot of money. I also spent a lot of time on the phone booking appt.s for him....but during those 2 yrs we did without nothing - absolutely nothing. Remember 1980 was when the money was found and Duane left Ft. Collins by March right after he asked me to make a trip with him to Omaho, NB. (I think this was the city he took me too or something close to it).He went to a BANK with his briefcase...and told me he had to see a man about some business - he was not licensed in that state. He is only inside for about 20 minutes and I sit in the car. Remember this was after the news articles hit the newspapers about the money find. Then a few days later Duane leaves for AL, but I do not know were he was for a while - as he would call me and did NOT tell me much - just that he had a room in Mobile and he was looking at the job. Remember when he left Ft Collins he was in an Oldsmobile Cutlass he had bought in 1979 after our trip to CO. Brand New! BUT the income does NOT support his being able to purchase (cash) a brand new car even if the dealer gave him a good trade on the Caddy. The Caddy was only about 3 yrs old, but we had racked up a lot of miles on it. IT was the CADDY we drove to Salt Lake and to WA. Then he comes back to CO for my daughters graduation and shortly afterward he is driving the Mercury Maurque (new). (2 NEW CARS in 9 months). Strange as it may sound the tax records show he purchased yet another car - I have NO knowledge of...or at least that is how I read the records. I haven't gone back to chase it - as I could not understand why or for who that car was purchased - a professional always did the taxes and I expect I didn't even see the taxes for that yr....he just provided me an allowance for making his appointments but I did not actually sell in Wym or in ALa. I was licensed but only made the appointments. All I did was sign the thing (if I had known then what I know today - hell no)! ANYONE get the picture at all - this was a man ready to RUN and he put distance between me and himself for over 2 months. - I didn't actually KNOW where he was. He was afraid I would connect the money find and Cooper to him. He may also have used some of the money when we returned from Wa to Ft.Collins in Oct of 1979. He had bought the OLDs and we had a BIG Christmas. It was the great snow in WY when he made the trip to LANDON....to see Richard Petersen. Wonder what was in the package he left on Paperlegs door. Seems like we made that trip in Jan or Feb of 1980...I do not clearly remember when we made the trip - just know there was a BIG SNOW and a huge front. End of 1979 or beginng of 1980. Certain individual have been reviewing the yr of 1971 in the life of Weber. Weber's income in 1971: The total income between Duane and his wife was $5233. $1500 of that was for the sale of personal items. Therefore the earned income was reduced to $3676. Of that $3676 the wife's total income was $1,396. Duane's contributions that yr was a grand total of $2335 and from that he claimed travel and office expenses. The had 2 children living at home ages 15 and 8 - in those days there was no assistance for children and the father was out of the picture. During the yr of 1971 they lived in Atlanta and Riverdale Ga and also in Columbia S.C. During one school yr they move those kids 3 times. They made a trip to Vegas and Weber tried to purchase a boat in South, Florida (a sea going vessel). He had the cash on him according to the wife and he bought her clothes like she had never had before and they went to N.Y. for New yrs to ring in 1972. Most of this come from the tax report and the rest came from the testimony of the wife and the memories of 2 of her children. The one who was 15 at the time is now deceased and before she died of an overdoes after a trip to Eugene, OR she told me she knew Duane was Cooper. The young man was too young to remember a lot, but did tell me what he could remembet as an 8 yr old. Duane destroyed lives and yet they all loved him. STRANGE! All give their testimony of their love for him and yet, he destroyed lives. The 15 yr old had a child, one she gave away - not adopted but given to a couple I was told they knew from S.C. or N.C. In South Carolina they lived on Baffin Bay Rd. Another accounting I heard was the couple lived in MO. I will have to look for the files on the baby. Talking about the baby makes me remember what Duane said in the hospital before he died. "Take the Baby down stairs, Bring the Baby back up, I can't go till the Baby gets here. I love You" and then he was gone. I do not know if he was telling me he loved me or if he had already crossed over to the other side. Was the BABY the child or was the Baby just representative of his life - whatever it meant he was gone....as the death gurgle followed within moments. And how did you punish Duane for stealing coats, Kool Aid etc? I know I'm giving you a hard time, but I wanted to call you on your statement. I think you made a lot of exceptions for Duane. Jo, you teased that the case would be closed soon. How soon and on what basis? 377 The KOOL AID was during the very last few months of his life. I contributed it to his being bored, He was very crippled those last few month and a trip to the grocery with a little list gave him somehing to do. Durning the last few wks he was unable to drive and could not walk very far. The coat thing was at a restaurant - he had done the deed when I made the remark that WAS not his coat. Yes, I jumped on him with disapproval. I now do not remember the place this occurred at. It was during the early yrs. He learned quickly I would NOT tolerate certain things. I would not know until after the fact on what most would call mischievious childlike pranks...some day I will tell the story about the 2 plates! I never knew How he pulled that off - if he bought them or if he stole them! I watched him like a hawk - if I caught him doing anything I disapproved of - he was quickly reprimanded - like one would treat a child who took candy at the check out. Children you can take back into the store and make them return the item and punish them at home - just not the way it works with an adult. Now that I know his record - I think back on it "keeping in practice" - I didn't know what that meant or why he would make such a statement. Have you ever slapped a child's hands and used firm words with them! It is part of the learning process as a child - but Duane evidently never grew-up! Perhaps WHY he called me MOMMIE! He would give me that little boy like grin that would melt my heart and I would let it go until the NEXT time. Of course I am sure the few times I became aware of wrong doing was a tiny fraction of the things he actually pulled off. You have never met me and you do not know me. If you did YOU would know I am here only because of the mystery involving Weber. His prior life, his life with me, the things in our marriage that cannot be explained and the fact that it all fits - but NOT one sole not even the FBI will fill in the very yrs that need to be addressed. Reported 241335 Not saying this was Weber's account but it was opened up in 1988 when we moved to FL. There was also safety deposit boxes. I could NOT apply to any of these because the FBI would not provide me with evidence Duane L. Weber was John Collins. Weber had an active drivers license and ID for John Collins in 1988. If any of you have a subject to present to the FBI - you will have to do your own research and hire your own investigators. Has anyone looked at the costs of this investigation. DNA and prints to compare to WHAT? Evidence that has been tainted and evidence the FBI does NOT even know belonged to the Skyjacker. The only way anyone is going to influence the FBI to continue the investigation on anyone subject is to provide the FBI with physical EVIDENCE. Evidence that in all probablility does NOT exist unless Cooper placed it in a safe place. Like a safety deposit box or some other hiding place. Problem is - when it is found it is very deteriotated and the finder does NOT even know what they have found. Who pays attention to an old fight ticket and parking stub along with some yucky old ragged 20's...they take the 20's to a bank which replaces them with new bills and the bank doesn't check the bills. The rest is just junk that is tossed in the trash! An old safe deposit box is closed, the bank is required to make copies of the items. Cash is just deposited into an account and then they run an ad. After so many yrs - they dispose of the items. IF Weber opened a safe deposit box under the name of John Collins - how would one acquire the items if they could not prove they were the widow of John Collins. Well, there are a lot of WANNABE's out there and since Weber was introduced in 1996 the WANNABE's came out in full force. Some of them taking their ideas from the search and the story told by yours truely. How many of you have tried to explain the money on the river and how many of the writers and those with subjects have used stories that echo the story told by Jo Weber in 1996 regarding the money. All I did was recite a trip Duane took me on and a nightmare he had - I had NO IDEA I had offered the only logical explanations of how the money got on the river. NOT one CLUE! When I told the story - I had NO IDEA where Tena's bar. ALL I did was describe the places Duane took me to - I didn't even have a damn map other than a map of 1/2 of the US and an old atlas. I recited the actions and noted when I was told to stay in the car and when I did get out. Does this make Weber, Cooper? NOT hardly, but when others do takes on the story told by this woman who had absolutely no knowledge what she recited was a logical explanation and had only been to WA that one time in her life. Yes, I have been back out there twice - 2001 and 2010, but when I talked to the FBI in 1996 I had ONLY been there ONE time and that was in 1979. Any evidence presented to the FBI at this point would have to be OVERWHELMING in order for them to even attempt another DNA testing! Like one of the 20's. The FBI does NOT believe it would - because it does NOT put the suspect on the PLANE! One of the 20's is the only thing that will put a suspect on that plane. I disagree because there could have been an accomplice.... Would someone look up the information on a guy by the name of Nuell or Nuwell or Newell with a funny 1st name for which Jack is the shortened version of the name. Georger I though it was you who posted an obit on this guy, but I can't find it. I have the name of his attorney and was told what they tried to do and all of you guys dissed it, but Mr H - it did happen! He may no longer remember it, but there is someone who does and very very vividly and yet he is but a voice in the wilderness. An old skydiver has tried to be heard, but his voice is drowned out by the same voices I have dealt with. There was an old skydiver in the Cooper threads who got banned when he made specific remarks about knowing who Cooper was and now he is deceased. This I believe was on the old thread. Thanks for the article on Paperlegs and Mouse and packers. I guess Duane thought so much of Paperlegs that he tried to be like him. Reading the description of Paperlegs was like hearing the description given of Duane by old friends. I agree on the tie - except if he left it behind it was a message to anyone who might miss him if he didn't come home or just seemed to disappear. I still think the tie tac Duane had on in 1970 in the picture and the one the found on Cooper's tie are a match...but, perhaps I SEE things. Interesting that there was actually a jumper named MOUSE. I always believed that Duane worked in a LOFT folding chutes, because of a picture he showed me in that old book - one we have never been able to find that Duane brought home around 1985. There was a picture in there of a chute prep loft. The one the Camino pic was in. That riddle that Paperlegs recited - it was so similar to one Duane used to say, but it was not about gambling. Wonder what happened to MOUSE and if there are any pictures of him and if he is still living. I still treasure that MOUSE I have Duane kept in the drawer with all of the other items.
