  1. Good job! Welcome to the club!
  2. That's not an electric car... THIS is an electric car ! http://www.buckeyebullet.com/ Next goal is 350+ mph using hydrogen fuel cells.
  3. "You sure got a perty tooth" "I just love your eyes...they's the same color as my tractor" "Yer trailer or mine?"
  4. Funny.... when I get nitrous at the dentist, I vomit too! Good luck! g That wasn't from the nitrous... Nitrous made me punch the dentist right in the nose.
  5. We had several hogs on our farm, Durocs, Hamps, etc. But I don't think I have ever seen a critter-humans included-that more visciously defended it's young than a female hog. God help the poor SOB who is near that litter if one of them squeals.
  6. And after my niece finishes her degree in graphic arts, courtesy of a softball scholarship. BTW, she carries about a 3.8 gpa and is on track to break a couple of long standing team records. (Gotta brag!)
  7. I'll take the historical argument. The U.S. at one time was a country that let the rest of the world do as they please to each other, we minded our own business. It was a tactic called isolationism. But then some really bad people in Europe and Japan decided that they wanted to take over everything so they thundered through their neighbors yards killing anything and everything that stood in their way. Only the Russians and to some extent the Chinese were able to slow them down. After a couple years the countries that had been overrun, and those about to be, cried out for help. Many here asked "Why should we? It's not on OUR land". But we dropped what we were doing (at that time it was enjoying a nice depression) and converted our nice little peace loving country into the largest mass producer of military hardware the world has ever seen. We sent billions of dollars (trillions in todays money) and sacrificed millions of young men and women to chase the bad guys from YOUR borders. After the bad guys were chased away things got back to a more normal state, but now we had this really powerful bomb that made a really big bang. Nobody else had one for a while so things were kinda ok. The the USSR got one and once again the bad guys were threatening to take over the world. We did the only thing we knew of at the time, which was to make even more super powerful firecrackers. This resulted in a stalemate betwenn the U.S. and Russia that lasted for many years. Finally, one day, smarter people came to an agreement and started to destroy some of those big firecrackers. The point of this is this.... We bailed your asses out time and time again. YOU helped create what the U.S. is today and helped shape her policies. You can't raise a dog and teach it to bite, then bitch when it does. We're not perfect, nor are our leaders. But, when the chips are down and the Big Bad Wolf is knocking at your door, who else would you rather have to come over and pop a cap in his ass?
  8. Uh-oh Doug. Looks like you have a new friend.
  9. Don't see you favorite listed? Write ins are accepted. However, "cat" and "hampster" are NOT acceptable.
  10. That don't mean diddly. Canadian businesses have been accepting U.S.currency forever.
  11. I saw a report on TV the other day about how many vets wounded in Iraq are having there checks held back because the government screwed up the books. They were paying combat pay after the soldiers returned. They never told the soldiers whose funds were direct deposited about this. The military wouldn't resume payments until the overpay had been returned. Why not just deduct it????? Stupid situation. I don't know if the idiot in the White House went AWOL. I don't really care. At least he did something. Jet fighters back then were plenty dangerous just to fly around for training. Clinton sent a letter stating that to serve in Viet Nam would "destroy his political viability". If he didn't want to go, he should have just said he didn't believe the war was just. Hell, even I respect that in a person if it is what they truly believe. But to avoid the draft because of "political viability"? That's bs. Back to the subject at hand. AWOL? Maybe. Maybe not. One thing that is for sure is that the militaries records are so FUBAR that they cannot be relied upon to make that determination.
  12. Thanks. I guess I want the alloy, then. You're welcome. BTW, creationists share 96% of their genes with chimpanzees because chimpanzees share 96% of their bananas with creationists.
  13. 137.45%.. Geez, didn't you take math in school?
  14. That is what is known as "Script Ohio". It was started in '36 as just another band formation and has been at every game since. It is considered quite an honer to "dot the i". Golfing great Jack Nickolaus had the honer at the Nov.18 OSU-Michigan game. He had always wanted to do that, but knew that to ask was unacceptable. It was a very emotional day for him. Sousaphone players dedicate years of hard work to have the honer. The drum major has the hardest job on Script Ohio. His timing and precision have to be spot on, or band members will be running into each other (cut lips, lost teeth, etc. are common), turning out of place, and the whole thing will look like so much wet spaghetti.
  15. And your point is? All this has been hashed out over the last 6+ years. Same story, different angle. Why is it that the same people who said it was of no consequence that Clinton lied to avoid the draft and led protests against our government in a foreign country are the same people who bash Bush for his military records being incomplete? Hell, my brother-in-law fought in Viet Nam, did two tours with the Marines. He has pics, letters from home, etc. that he saved yet the governments records of his service are so incomplete and scattered it makes Bush's look pristine.
  16. Good start. The fucker that killed my sister last year had prior DUIs and for some reason still a fuckin driver's license. If the penalities were stiffer, perhaps it would help save lives. 25 years ago last November my girlfiend was killed by a drunk driver. When he appeared before the judge he was asked why he decided to go ahead and drive home even though he knew he was drunk (he had admitted so). He said that since the fine was so small for a 1st time DUI he thought it was worth the risk. Maybe should have asked those who shared the highway with him that evening.
  17. Much better, thank you. BTW, Ohio State's band made Florida's look and sound like a bunch of reptiles running around with kazoos shoved up their.....tails. Gotcha!
  18. The overall costs of a DUI is way more than 500 dollars. I don't drink and drive, and I don't condone it. At the same time I think a .08 limit is bullshit designed to raise township funds, not protect people. Don't want to finance the twp/city/state? Simple. Don't drive if you think your even close to the limit. I have no problem at all with DUI convictions carrying obnoxiously high fines and other penalties. I either do my drinking at home, have a DD, or plan ahead to stay wher I am going to be drinking.
  19. They already did...they stayed the Hell out of session!
  20. You let them do that to you? Next thing ya know you'll be jumping out of perfectly good airplans.
  21. According to the Jan.07 American Rifleman, pg.57, the iron-tungsten-nickel alloys, the tungsten-bronze alloys, and the tungsten-iron-copper-nickel alloys all have a density of 12 gr./cc. The tungsten-matrix (95.9% tungsten,4.1%polymer) is 10.4gr./cc. In my area all the above are readily available during waterfowl season.
  22. Speak for yourself. For me taking way too many classes, studying late, rising early, doing my best in all my classes, and enjoying a bit of the social life around campus without making an ass of myself or my school is what being a college student is all about.
  23. Can we connect a good size capacitor to the beam that discharges at random?
  24. One copy for the Pentagon, one copy for Congress, and one to destroy so the Russians don't get ahold of it, right?
