  1. Any single female types first Then everyone else
  2. Um, that's why reloading is cheaper - because you re-use the brass. All you pay for is a new primer, a pinch of powder, and a new bullet. For my Rigby reloading is the only way I can afford to shoot. But some ammo is dirt cheap. I wouldn't even consider reloading for my SKS since factory ammo is cheap and plenty accurate for plinking. My favorite varmint rifle is chambered in .260 Remington. Ammo is reasonably priced, but to get that little extra accurracy I load my own. Besides, that 90 grain Nosler BT @ 3600 fps lets those woodchucks know whose boss!
  3. I ran into a situation several years back where I had to design a container for explosives to meet certain criteria, test to specifications, and submit results and test samples. Even after all that work the agency hired another independent facility to repeat the tests, as well as doing some testing themselves. This could be a similar situation. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  4. Do you have a "lemon law" there? Here , if the car makes x number of trips to the repair shop for the same problem within a specified period, and spends more than y number of days at the shop, then the maufacturer has to take the car back.
  5. '94 Integra LS for $2k. Almost a foregone conclusion that car has spent the last 13 years getting the balls run out of it by everyone who sat in left seat. Be very careful on this one. VERY careful. This car could end up costing a hell of a lot more than $2k.
  6. Who is they? Never saw 'em before. Nope...don't know 'em.
  7. Like all of the greats, as hard as he tried to pass on his knowledge there was just too much to write down. He will be missed by all who learned to fly.
  8. There was a similar thread here a week ot two back concerning dry sockets. You may find some help there. Other than that all I can tell you is that it's gonna hurt for a couple days, but, like all things, this too will pass. Rinsing GENTLY with a warm salt water solution helps a little. Try not to dislodge the clots where the teeth used to be. These clots are needed for a fast recovery.
  9. The tungsten alloys actually are denser then lead shot, app 12gr/cc vs 9.5 gr/cc. This translates to greater retained energy downrange, but at a very much higher cost. Taken in context with all the other costs associatted with hunting waterfowl, the price of the ammunition is minimal but still not negligable. All these different shot types are still a lot cheaper than some rifle cartridges. A box of 25 cartridges for my .416 Rigby costs $125. I've never fired a factory round through it, only handloads.
  10. I sse your point. However, the materials for making a personal firearm and ammunition are readily available and can be purchased and/or produced without drawing attention to yourself. Nuclear weapons, on the other hand, require materials that are not easily produced unless you have the resouces of a large government. Yes, there is the black market, but there are so many agencies keeping tabs on that thru intelligence networks that it would be tough getting the required quantities of the required materials without being noticed. An interesting debate I was in the other day was started when a friend told me that he thought our 2nd ammendment was outdated and no longer had a valid use. His reasoning was that our civilians, armed with what we currently own, could do nothing to stop a miltary takeover. All I had to do was point to the situation in Iraq. $600,000,000,000 spent and we're still being held at bay by insurgent using leftovers from the Cold War and improvised munitions. Guns have very little to do with terrorism other than being another tool. They will get these tools if they want them, even if they have to make them. On the worst day in our history for terrorism, 9/11/01, all they needed were a few box cutters.
  11. Her daddy should sell her on E-Bay and keep the cars. Anybody here know how much that model Saab stickers for?
  12. Thanks for all the encouragment, guys and gals. Math is not my strongest subject, but I've managed to claw my way this far so I know I'll find a way to get thru this course also. Some of your replies echo what my profs tell me. Out of all the math requirements for my major, this is the one class I will use the most. Trying to do math problems while engaged in heavy drinking doesn't work. You almost always get the wrong solution and it leaves you with a hangover. Hey! That's the way to avoid hangovers! Don't do math!
  13. Hypothetical situation.....all ownership, possession, and manufacture of firearms is banned. BFD. Give me a small lathe and I'll reproduce any firearm ever made. Give me a small CNC mill and a turret lathe and I could mass produce them in my basement. Any caliber, any action. Same goes for ammunition. Any ban on firearms does nothing, can do nothing, and will do nothing to stop someone who is resourceful from getting one.
  14. Yeah, good question...do accidental ones count? I pierced my hand witha 3/8" drill one time.
  15. Congrats on the job! Remember the two rules of the work world.... Rule #1. The Boss is always right. (Yes, "Boss" is ALWAYS capitalized!) Rule #2. When the Boss is wrong, refer to rule #1. This format also works with women. Just substitute the word "Female" for the word "Boss".
  16. Only if it a poll asking about racial topics.
  17. I can barely contain my excitement...not! At my age I don't have a hell of a lot of hair left. Oh well, maybe after this course I'll just settle for the Kojak look and buy suckers by the case.
  18. Trees have also been responsible for snagging unsuspecting parachutes and aircraft. Trees bad. Chainsaws good.
  19. First order for now. Thanks for the offer for help. I have a couple "math geek" friends, who do these for fun, that are on 24/7 call. Last required math course!
  20. Gonna pull out what's left of my hair....argh!
  21. Your link didn't work. Is this the one you saw? http://www.herobuilders.com/political/default.htm
  22. I've had my butt saved by my dogs too many times to even think they thought of me as just a food source.
