Without a doubt - redheads!
-
riggerrob - Care to share what happened to cause this post or was it just a vent? Matt

Wings, Safire 189, PD Reserve, Cypres

mbolism and msdeva - When are you arriving at Summerfest? I'm making jump 100 there too - this weekend, probably on Saturday. matt

Hope he brings a 170!

I'll be there both weekends and maybe in between. Would this be the same Levin from flyvertical? If so I look forward to meeting whoever explained the concept of an audible altimeter over the phone to my mother before she bought it for Christmas last year. Look for me - almost no hair. Large purple and yellow wings container (190 in it) with the initials MOB on the one shoulder. Matt

From what I heard originally it was a plan to retrofit earlier Safires and modify new Safires with different brake lines but it changed to a new canopy design and may not be retrofitted to earlier Safires. Just gossip though. -mob

*** I'm beginning to wonder if we should start arranging exit order by wing loading (highest first), *** How many groups have jumpers ranging from a light to heavy wing loading? Be tough. "Sorry, you can't jump with us we are exiting first. Downsize and you can though." Seems hard to manage.

Here is where Skydive Chicago now is. Picture must be a few years old.

On the Wings the pud option doesn't cost any extra $$$ and the BOC pouch can be cordura with a spandex lip or spandex - your choice. -mob

Lodi was a blast when I was there. (not a uspa dz) -mob

Form your own opinions about where you want to jump but remember that SDC does a lot more jumps than most places and that a several of the fatalities were bizarre - 2 on world record attempts and one involved the following "perhaps attempting a handstand on top of his slider, while steering with his foot in the cascades of the suspension lines". -mob

fyi - The Wings pud system can be BOC or pullout. I have a Wings with a pud instead of a hackey. It is a BOC system with the pc stored on the bottom of the container not inside. -mob (back from the dead and posting after a long layoff)

Congratulations! If the weather and my nerves hold I'll do my first one tonight! -mob

good reminder - i made a similar mistake with a baggy long sleeve t-shirt not being tucked in on one of my first jumps off student status. luckily i found the hackey but it could have turned out worse

modems are cheaper than dsl/cable which means more money for skydiving hopefully some year i'll have broadband but that would involve ameritech pulling it's head out of it's *#@ so it will probably be a while
-
ask a rigger who can inspect the rig - it depends on the specifics of the rig from what i have been told

glad you've seen the light! freeflying is so much fun i've been neglecting my rw skils lately. hope you bought beer :)

IRC . . . there's something I haven't used in years. I just figured the chat was on the web like everything else. IRC . . . flashbacks of the old internet. OK - Enough rambling - I grabbed the software - what's the server / connect info? Thanks
-
Is the Wednesday chat going on? What am I missing - I click on "The Pub" and don't see much. Post here or send an e-mail via the dz.com account thanks

hmmm - Chicago wouldn't be the place for affordable rent or warm winters but the summers make up for it! Can't pick a better spot to be when it's warm. It's the biggest town you'll visit with a small town feel.

Wings customer service is good - just call don't e-mail or you will wait a few days for a response. Yes the bottle coolers are nice. -mob

Do I have to bring beer if I show up for the first time?
